It's kinda funny because both of tour Tekong style haircuts are not Tekong style, because the hairdresser/barber is not Singaporean. First time bald the scalp will be a little more sensitive initially, don't let too much harsh sun shine on it until you're used to it. You may have thought that bald people with shiny heads polish their scalps with oil, but once you cut botak yourself, you'll understand that it's simply the oil produced naturally by the scalp.
yea, if you go to malay barbers and tell them you want tekong style they will know what to give u...i think being totally bald is not actually allowed in tekong too, everyone has to have that same no1 haircut

Recruits usually have a buzzcut, which is just using the clipper without guards and shaving off all the hair. Afterwards it will usually be "2 by 1" when they are a cadet. Once you are at your allocated unit, things will be a little different! If you wish to know more about army life in Singapore feel free to drop me a message! Showering will be fun, you can air dry your head without the hair. All the fun and everything stuff you have to apply product to protect your head otherwise you might damaged the hair roots.

Ghib learned the trick. You cut skinhead a few days before enlistment so that by the time you enlist, it will grow into the acceptable length of botak in Tekong.
Tekong style still leaves about 1mm hair length (hence the name "Number 1 hairstyle") and does not need to use a razor. Yours is more like "skinhead" because it literally shaves everything off and leaves nothing. But its ok, looks good still. You'll enjoy stroking your own short hair a lot over the next few weeks as all Tekong recruits do.
Nice hair cut. I have been thinking of cutting botak but my concern is daily maintaining and what to do if the tiny hair grow in unbalance manner ... please share your experience.
u might wanna get a cap to wear while the hair is growing coz if your head feels cold you will get a headache. I have done the bald head cut n its good to keep warm.
This not Tekong style this is monk style ..Tekong is 0.5 mm hair but cannot skin head . But you are brave .. if you want cooling hair style you can go for shorter undercut quite ok for Sg weather.

Too late for me, I don't have much hair left - joking, the barber says I have hair like tall grass and has to spend more time with me than others. When you fight, you can't be thinking about your hair - so a crew cut is a must. If you look good with such a cut, it's cool man.
to what i know ppl usually dun say tekong style haircut, not sure where he get the information from?? in my era usually ppl said in hokkien durian spike, aka liu lian qi.. it is not really botak just very short like few mm long i think it is closer to so call crew cut than botak which mean shaving bald.

Errr it's wrong again. Tekong recruits don't shave this bald wan, usually around 1-2mm. They won't use the shaver blade too.
We used to call that hair style " 4 by 2 "
