  • Makeup Tips for Older Women | Step 7: Lips - How to Make Your Lips Look Naturally Plump
This is the final video in our series of seven tutorials that go through the stages of makeup application for older women.
In our first six videos, we discussed primer, foundation, concealer, brows, blush, and eyes, with professional makeup artist Ariane Poole. In this video, we look at lips, applied them to create a daytime look.
See the other videos in this series here: • Makeup for Women Over ...
Ariane Poole starts by reminding us that the point of these step-by-step videos is to help women to look the best they can and to focus on positive-aging, not anti-aging.
She reminds us that it is not so much how you look but how you feel. Accenting the parts of our face that we love makes us feel more positive and confident.

Margaret, you are a lovely, lovely lady inside and out. I found you today while looking for travel makeup tips (planning England/Scotland next year). I just watched your entire Makeup Tips series, and I LOVED it! I have never used much makeup, but lately have wanted to brighten up, so these videos are very timely. I am 68 and would like to look nice instead of washed out and worn out. I took notes on the entire series, and plan to have fun looking for the right products for me! Thak you so much! Looking forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you!

I would love a discussion of brushes and one on best colors for the different undertones of our skin (which to wear, which to avoid) and how to accurately determine your personal skin undertones!!! This series is amazing!! Thank you!

Can I say, I found a place doing a lip filler study. They did the trial for free and also paid me to do it. It was FDA approved but they were testing to approve how well it worked. I had super duper thin lips and now they are full and plump and only get a touch up once a year. Not good for people who don’t like needles but the numbing is wonderful and the soreness only lasts a couple of days. Look into reputable doctors who are doing studies. I always hated my thin lips and it has def made me look younger. Still have to find the right lipstick though 😉

Thank you Margaret for this series, it’s been such a positive reinforcement to me of late. Keep them coming. I don’t want or. We’d to change my skin to be younger but to embrace what I have and love how I got here! Thank you !!!!!

A BIG THANK YOU to you both for sharing your time and talents. I’m very serious when I say that this has been a real life changer for me. That may sound over dramatic, but I’m very serious. I’ve watched countless videos re: make up for older women, and nothing really even comes close to this. I’ve had to practice and try out different ways of applying makeup since watching this series and stumble around a bit but that’s OK. I’m grateful that I’m at an age now where I can laugh and say “ I don’t give a fluster. If anyone has an issue with how I look, then that’s their issue “. 😉.
Question: how often to replace old makeup?
I love the name Ariane, we named our daughter Arianne! ❤️

I always thought that lipstick color was based on skin tone not my natural lip color. Great video as always Margaret and Ariane

Arianne is a great makeup artist!! great tips!! I love the fact that she respects Margaret's lips type (as mine, very thin) and she did not used those horrible and painful lip plumpers!! Saludos!

Hello Margaret. I love when you and Ariane get together. You both make makeup fun and inspiring. I would think that this video series would have answered many of the questions that we have had about our own makeup for years. For example, I often wondered why a particular lipstick looked so great on one person while I was disappointed when I tried it. I would appreciate if Ariane could explain why lipstick wears off my lips so quickly. I was inspired by your closing comment about us all having different challenges and let’s be grateful those features that work well for us.

GORGEOUS. Thank you for this series, much appreciated. What is the concealer you put around the lips before applying the lip liner and lip stick? I couldn't understand what you said.

I like that after being teased mercilessly in the 60s,when snake lips were in,I had full gorgeous lips, and now they are the rage, haha, got the last laugh, and the fake lips look ridiculous.
