      If the win it this year, they will come out with another excuse. It will be Luka and Irving were gassed after having to battle out the west well Boston didn't play any tough teams. Or we all knew Boston was the better team, they were supposed to be the champions at the end. Meanwhile the majority of the media picked Dallas to win.

  • @makgeoff
    @makgeoff 16 дней назад +4

    Faith, is important. It's big. I like the soft jab Joe threw at the media. This is where the Tillman trade comes in handy, as Celtics will need him to take up at least 15 mins to be able to switch everything & don't lose a beat. Kornet will likely get 5-8 mins for some easy lobs but he won't be playing a lot as he will give up too many open 3s for Kyrie & Doncic.

    Orca live in pods led by a dominant matriarch, and hunt in groups - when they hunt large whales (or hunted, I cant imagine there are a ton of whales around, anymore), rather than attacking them, they work in shifts to hold the whale underwater and prevent it from surfacing - in this way, the Orca are able to refresh their air supply, where the whale eventually drowns. The Celtics working together to keep a high end scorer like Luka from going off, while also ensuring he stays in the mix and gets worn out, is the only parallel I can think of when trying to imagine what Joe was saying while bringing up Orca.
    Also, Orca kill big sharks by biting them on the dorsal fin, and then holding them upside and waiting for them to drown, but I dont know what the basketball equivalent of that would be. Orca drown a lot of stuff.

    • @BobSacamano666
      @BobSacamano666 16 дней назад

      How do you drown a shark?

    • @Mitch_Feral
      @Mitch_Feral 16 дней назад

      @@BobSacamano666 Sharks need water to move over their gills to extract oxygen, but they dont have muscles to pump it in - they accomplish this by swimming, or by resting in places where there is a persistent current. Holding them in place eventually drowns them bc they arent getting enough oxygen.
      Also, some shark species get paralyzed, or nearly paralyzed, when they are upside down - humans use that for research purposes, Orca's use it for lunch.

    • @Mitch_Feral
      @Mitch_Feral 16 дней назад

      @@BobSacamano666 Huh, I thought I replied to this, but it's gone.
      Basically, sharks need water to move through their gills to get oxygen, but they dont have muscles that force that action, so they either need to keep swimming, or rest somewhere with a persistent current sufficient to move enough water through their gills that they dont asphyxiate. If an orca immobilizes a shark, it stops it moving water over its gills, so the shark cant breathe. And apparently a bunch of shark species get paralyzed if they are turned upside down - so, orcas take a hold of them in their mouths, and just...hold them upside down and motionless, and the sharks drown.

    Mavs just don't hv the personnel & schemes & coaching to defend the Celtics to make the Celtics players play 1 on 1 much like they did to Luka. You will not see the Heat get beat like that into the lane & 3 other guys overreact & create 3 open shooters. Mavs will tighten this a bit in G3 & refs will also help them. Celtics just need to stay the course.
