Bob Seger is good anytime, any day. “Still the Same” is one of my favorites! I had the great fortune to see him live in the 80’s. I’m so grateful to have been young and listening when all of this great stuff was floating around!🌺✌️
Bob Seger is from my neck of the woods in SE Michigan. Saw him before he got national attention. Even saw him at a convenience store once. Love his music. Proud of our hometown son.
Motown was pretty great for music in the sixties & seventies. Not just big concerts either. Seems like Edgar Winter played some bingo hall at least once a month. Free concerts every weekend at Ypsi & Ann Arbor. I've seen Seger, Nugent & others a few times just drop into bars & start jamming. And then Barry Gordy & Motown records........Yep, I feel blessed. Just Pink Floyd 1973 Cobo was a life changer.
My friends and I usta practice our dance moves to this masterpiece and played it over and over! The whole thing rocks - the melody, music, Bob's voice, background vocals, all of it!! 🎶❣️🎶✌️🎶😎
HUGE Seger fan here from beginning to end ~ I prefer early Seger too, but the man was slugging on the scene, regional gig to regional gig, for about 12 years ~ He was nicknamed the "Road Warrior" and "Legend of Live," gigging almost 300 nights/year ~ He never broke through to mainstream ~ He finally decided he wanted to make a living and maybe raise a family, so he changed his tune and there we have his Night Moves album ~ I can't blame him......
I love Bob Seger, and this is my favorite tune of his, an ode to Motown and Stacks. "Get Out Of Denver" is Seger's tribute to Chuck Berry, a fabulous tune. I highly recommend it.
I've seen Bob live 3 times, and he is incredible live! "Her Strut" is one of my favorites. Harri I have always thought this track was missing horns, great minds think alike. Daniel my friend I really dig your taste!
Thanks my bestie buddy. I was at my cousin's house in Canada and her husband said this to me: You know who I think is overrated as a musician? I said no who? He said, Bob Seger. I nearly fainted. Lost a lot of respect for him that night. 🙃🤪
@@greybeard2280 I know. I have 53 cousin's and my mother had 12 siblings and hope none of them thought like Darren (my cousin's husband) . I have only seen Bob Seger live twice. Gotta catch up with you huh? 👍🙃
@@danielvolk237 I think we are fortunate enough to see him once. But, once is never enough 😁. Last time I saw him live was December 2014, and he was just as incredible when I first saw him in '76.
Oh yeah!!! What a kickin Bob Seger tune. Great pick Daniel Volk. I see Harri was into it as the drums started. Yes, Bob can do it all. An unmistakable unique voice and actually hard to duplicate his range, grit and soul feeling. A true legend. I always heard you got your monies worth at a live Bob Seger show. Never disappoints.
Bob Schultz play organ according to the record credits. You should try Bob's song against the war in Vietnam, "2+2=?". This song smokes from start to end. We played this album LOUD and often back in 1969.
interesting because there seems to be a big question about who played on the record I have heard it was the CATS from Muscle Sholes but have also hear it was Bobs band but that organ just Rocks this tune
Blues club downtown Detroit, 1970, I was 10, my Godfather takes me to this smoky club, he was a killer sax player, and was the first time I saw Seger and this song changed my understanding of music.
love me some bod seger...thanks for the post man...BOB is soooo dang good....its old stuff but that is the best music of all..thanks for this post man...thank you
Brought back old memories hearing this song. Thanks for the reaction. If you didn't know yet there is a live version on RUclips of this from 1970 posted by a RUclips user called MICHIGANROCKSANDROLL . Seger was in a group called Bob Seger System when this was released. The video is from an old TV show from the Detroit Michigan area. Seger is playing guitar on the left side of the screen and is beardless.
This dropped the year I was born. Maybe 8-9 years later I heard this band churn out monster hit song after monster hit song. In my opinion the best storyteller to ever do it.
As much energy and power as this song has, the live version has even much more! He shifts the delivery slightly here and there, brings the vocal filler between lyrice a bit more effectively, and the instrumentation even has a bit more punch. It's one of the best rock songs of all time.
None other than the late Glenn Frey, co-founder of the "Eagles" playing rhythm guitar and doing backup vocals. RIP Glenn , Bob Schultz played the organ on this song . Love Bob Seger. Anyone remember "Heavy Music" another oldie. It was on CKLW golden oldies greatest hits album. We played the shit out of that record. 👍🌏🔥
@@greybeard2280 someone was commenting on cklw radio. Bob did a song called "Rosalee" i think. She was the music director at CKLW, another great one of Bob's if you can find it. 👍
this song JUST ROCKS I understand that the record was the Muscle Sholes Swampers and Bob's Band did it live that organ and drums just make this song thanks
This was Seger's first real national hit in his first band, The Bob Seger System. The song was originally released as a single in October 1968, then as a track on the album of the same name
Interesting for you to mention horns. It's sorta like the background vocals are a horn sound. The background vocals are one of my favorites ever! 🎶✌️🎶❣️🎶👍🎶
This song is 99% perfect!! My only beef with it is it's too short. But he packs a punch in a very short amount of time Bob seger is such a legend he just doesn't make bad music.

Great song! Can never go wrong with Seger, but I always preferred the live version of this song from the Live Bullet album. It’s much more free flowing and energetic.

This tune is from early in his career. In 1969 we were seeing him in the local teen nightclubs in the Detroit area, $3 was the typical ticket price. The length is due to the artists having to get their music airtime on am radio & about 3 min. was the limit.
Ya me to, used to see him at the Clawson Nights of Columbus in Metro Detroit for 2 bucks and leave at the end of the show to go cruise Woodward Ave. when it wasn't a Dream Cruise or a traffic jam and pick some girls up and Drag Race. All that fun for under 10 bucks, those were the days.
Bob is amazing! I was inundated with his ballads in the 70's and 80's on the radio as a kid, but going back to this song and "Get out of Denver" from his 1975 live album have made me realize how much he rocked! So this is his Stax sound... for his Chuck Berry sound, check out Get out of Denver from his"Live Bullet" album" 🤘😎
Bob is in a class by himself
That was his early years style and later recorded in the Muscle Schosls studios,
Bob was one of the hardest working rock singers over the last 5 decades. Love Bob Seger.♥️
This song features future Eagle Glenn Frey in one of his first recordings. Glenn sang backing vocals.
I had no idea this came out in late 60s! We listened to Bob in high-school. Early 80s.
My favorite Bob Seger song! THANK You!
Harri you should do a reaction to Get Out of Denver by Bob Seger
