“Make a plan and EXECUTE the plan”! LOVE that word “execute”…..makes me feel like “I HAVE THE POWER!” in achieving my goals. Thanks for the powerful positivity of your words!
When I started my lifestyle diet, I partnered with my GP. Her advice before doing anything food related was to write down every bit of food ingestion (solid or liquid) and when, feeling or reason for eating with any kind of exercise done during the day. One month to start then we had an appointment where we looked together at everything. And discussed it. She gave me some dietary advices. Then we met at first every week, then every 2 weeks, every month... She never told me I should be doing this or that. It was a slow process but at the end of the day, I went from a size (French sizes) 44/46 to 36/38. It took me about a decade and another decade later (in my early 50'), I am still a size 36/38 (6/8 in UK size). Find what work for you, take your time and have someone to keep you accountable without judgement. Best of luck to anyone on this life journey. It is sometimes difficult, discouraging but so worth it at the end.
Glad you don't go crazy with water drinking. There's general advice that the more water you drink, the better, but it is actually possible to make yourself unwell by drinking too much water.
Forming long term sustainable habits is essential. Anyone can lose weight. Keeping it off and maintaining a healthy weight requires consistent habits.

For those who don't like black coffee and feel the need to add creamer/sugar/flavour... Have you ever asked yourself if it is not that in fact you don't like coffee? Could your need for coffee coming from either habit or the social image of drinking coffee?
I definitely learned about my food addictions I didn't know I had when I started my 40 day sugar fast on January 1st. I agree that some people probably drink coffee out of addiction.
I feel my best with no sugar, no flour, no white potatoes. Making a once-for-all decision to eliminate them permanently has actually made my life easier. I agree with your words, “Life’s too short to feel bad.”
Excellent content. A sensible approach to changing your eating habits. I think it's great you didn't call it a diet. That helps to have your mindset as a lifestyle change rather than saying "Im on a diet".Goid job, Kate!
I fast at least 18 hours a day, but need to tighten up my food when I do eat. I have actually developed a taste for black coffee which has definitely been a surprise.
I started portion control 2 yrs ago. Worked wonders and I only use small plates never dinner plates. Lost 60#. Felt so much better. I agree whole foods you feel so much better.
I love how your videos are always so timely for me. I've been coasting in the right direction with health and finances and pretty much everything it's now time to go beastmode for me. Like you say - it's not forever it just gets you rolling! Great as always Kate. Appreciate you so much!
Try some home made soup; preferably, vegetable soups such as minestrone or other low calorie soups. I'm using the Mayo Diet and it is so nutrious, and very easy to follow. I found the Mayo Diet book at a library book sale for $1, and it does all the work for me. I'm eating approximately 1200 calories each day. In my second week, I already lost about six pounds. After your video, I'm going out to walk around a track once or twice.
I have always been goal oriented but now don't seem to be as effective. You have just reminded me that I have goals and need to get my butt in gear to get results.🙃
Awesome video, Kate! I’m in an eight week mass building phase, i’m barely in week three! I am in moderate protein and hike to moderate carbohydrate diet! I have a fast metabolism, hence the reason I’m on a high carbohydrate diet! But, I try to add in cardio to keep my body and heart healthy! This is motivating, and I will come back to this video throughout the eight week program! Keep up all the hard work, Kate! You are amazing!
It’s so hard to stick to a regular meal and exercise schedule in college. Working on building my strength and my savings. It’s hard work but hearing you and the KSquad continue motivates me.
I am doing similar to you. My window was 10 hours, but I have closed it to 8 hours, 10-6 as well. I try to get to the gym to use the lazy river (walk with and use water weights) 2-4 times a week, depending on my schedule. As the weather gets better, I will add walking outside as well. I watch a nutritionist who says (healthy) fat, fiber and protein are crucial! I also did a Healthy Wage bet to keep myself accountable. :) Great video. Thanks! Beast mode!
Choosing foods you love to eat for your journey really makes the difference for me. Planning to eat broccoli when i despise broccoli is not sustainable for me! But i love Brussels sprouts so i choose that healthy option!
Thank you for this video Kate! I m going on intermittent fasting, you re a true advocate! And I so much love Buns: he s so handsome and sweet. If you re ever taking viewers requests I would love to get a video about who your cats are, how they came into your life, their likes and dislikes. Like I say, fan request, but if there are more of these in the K Squad, then I may have a chance 🤗
I agree with food being the most important. I've worked out more than I ever have in my life during these past 2 years (to calm my anxiety and stay off antidepressants). BUT I gained 10 lbs during this past 2 years because I also coped with eating crap and way too much sugar
Thanks Kate 👍 Bat signal 😂 Sharpen the saw and big rocks first stuck with me from 7 habits 🙌 Abs are made in the kitchen 😊 Sleep 🙌 Macronutrients are interesting to focus on nutrition 🙌 Tracking will be helpful to see what affect certain foods or alcohol has on your body as a system like a well oiled machine if you will 😊 🎶 and I'm feeling good 🎶
Over twenty years ago I also put on twenty pounds. I went to Weight Watchers and used the points system. I lost the weight slowly over about nine months. I have never regained the weight because having a points parameter let me see what I needed to do. My weakness at that time was Mexican food. When I realized two cheese enchiladas were half of my daily points allowance, I was shocked. I still enjoy Mexican food, but I moderation. Like you, I avoid processed foods and try to eat plant based although I still eat some meat and fish. Writing things down really helps both in dieting and budget, but you must do the work to succeed.
This is exactly what I need right now…thank you 🥰😍 I want/need to make some lifestyle changes and this is giving me motivation to start my journey. Today is the day…no more excuses 😌🤪😜
Don’t worry about the creamer. What you’re doing is clearly working. I love plain Greek yogurt. I add fresh or thawed frozen berries in it with a little honey for sweetness, cacao nibs (so good for you and crunchy) and cinnamon. This is my breakfast almost every day. It tastes like dessert. I use full fat or low fat. Fage is my favorite brand. It’s creamy without being too tart. I love eggs for dinner too. It’s easy, cheap and healthy.
Congrats on the weight loss! I was never a yogurt eater I just never liked the taste of it until I found Icelandic skyr. It's amazing it's thick like a Greek yogurt but not too sweet I add my own fruit and nuts or whatever it's absolutely delicious! I cut drastically down on meat and cut dairy out and that made the weight actually came off so easy! Now I need to cut out all the sugar! I am such an emotional eater and can really relate! So hard to change! Love your channel! Love Bunz!
I have been intermittent fasting for almost 3 years. I drink black coffee but I didn't used to to at all. what got me closer to black coffee and off creamer was cashew milk. it's very low in calories. it's worth a try if it takes good for you. I have been trying to drink black tea and green tea but never remembered to make it so now I put the tea bags in my coffee lol I know it sounds weird but I had really helped me feel better. I just know I'll never just make myself a tea so I'm doing the kill 2 birds method 😆
oh and I also use cottage cheese as my "dressing" for salads. I like to mix dill mustard in it sometimes to make it taste different. you can also season cottage cheese with garlic powder or something too.
There is nothing wrong with occasional French fries. But eat them with nothing else than veggies and fruits; water for drink. Add lemon juice or mint leaves if you don't like taste of water.
Say Amen to the creamer, I don’t like black coffee either. I also started Noom and have been tackling the food side and am now including exercise I walk 20 min in the morning about a half mile. I really like what your ballet teacher said because it’s true we are trying to be better than the average late 30’s early 40’s something.
Great video! You've been working hard and it shows!! I especially like how you emphasize better health. What you are saying is in line with James Clear's Atomic Habits. Set your environment up for success--prepare your food the night before. I use the free app, Carb Genius, to count my carbs. I really started noticing changes when I went sugar free.
Hi Kate, I’ve been eating the Joseph brand mini pita bread (flax, oat bran, & whole wheat) only 7 grams of carbs, 0 sugar 5 grams of protein), Satisfies my bread craving.
I started walking @ least 5 days a week and on the two days I don't I make sure that I @ least move around the house and I've included more fruits and vegetables into my nutrition daily
Brilliant Kate.but you did confuse me I thought it was Friday 😆 🤣. Iam starting my weight loss program next week so this was really lovely to listen to and really motivated me thank you

Thanks so much for watching Jennifer!!!!
Glad you don't go crazy with water drinking. There's general advice that the more water you drink, the better, but it is actually possible to make yourself unwell by drinking too much water.
And you have to ensure that your cells are absorbing the water. Do this by eating fruits and vegetables that have high water content.
Awesome video!! Thank you for sharing your fitness journey with us. So true what you said, "life is too short to feel crappy" Hi Buns
YASS! Thank you Kathy! Buns says hi!
Thank you for this Kate! ❤️ You’ve inspired me to start my financial and physical health journey. 🙏🏻
You are very welcome! Thanks for being here!

Crazy how motivating you are. Love the no judgment!
Dawn from centsibility i really enjoy your videos!
Definitely not just you. I've found few things that I can categorically say make my sleep worse, but eating too close to bedtime is one of them!
Hey Willow! So happy to see ya this Thursday!
@@KateKaden I'm glad to have made it on the day the video is uploaded. It's not happened for a while. Maybe tomorrow it will happen again.
I am an emotional eater too. I struggle with chocolate and sugar cravings. I lost some weight but put part of it back on.
Yes! Ahhh once I got the sugar out of my system it was so helpful! Otherwise I craved it constantly.

I think maybe making losing weight fun same concept as making frugal fun
Hihi🌷
Hello my friend!
I don't think I need to count calories or macros or something to make progress on losing belly. I just need to eat less cake.
LOL! Less cake! Good idea:)
I get too frustrated tracking and calculating. I keep simple. Up protein, veggies and water. Drop sugars, breads, and condiments!
Skim milk is loaded with sugar.
