TCL 6 Series 75-inch 4K HDR TV | Unboxing and basic setup

- Опубликовано: 13 сен 2024
- This may literally be the biggest deal in TVs right now. Currently on sale for as little as $1300, the 75-inch version of TCL's knock-out 6 series TV is poised to offer the best picture quality you can get in a TV this large for under $2,000. Though it faces stiff competition from Vizio's current P-series TV, the 75R617 has Roku OS going for it, and might just best the Vizio P in overall picture quality. In this Vizio, we unbox the TV, perform basic setup, and get our first look.

I purchased this TV about a month ago. Love it. Would I have been happier with an LG OLED? Probably, but my wife would have been furious. :P
Seriously, for the money, you can't beat it. I have mine hooked up to a surround receiver, but I did listen to the TV with speakers only a couple times and they don't disappoint. Watch "Our Planet" on Netflix - 4k Dolby Vision is amazing.
Jon Lynch do you have any other streaming devices hook to it or do you just use Roku?
@@ArnoldNathan I've mainly just been using Roku with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and RUclipsTV. I also have an xbox one x attached.
Jon Lynch ok thanks. I’ve read that you can change the power on input. But on the older model I have it’s not working.
How are the viewing angles? I've been looking at this one for my parents who are looking to buy a 65" tv, but my mom sits off to the side a bit, so I want to make sure that the picture is clear for her.
How is picture uniformity?
A monster of a LED tv during that time period. I have one and my tv is bright as hell😊
I'm still standing here waiting for the full review of this 75" TV ...... hurrrray please guys
Looking forward to comparison reviews. I love TCL TV’s
Great, for the price. A hard stretch to compare it to the 950G though...
You love TV's with DSE and vertical banding issues? That's odd.
Same
I bought the 65 inch version from bestbuy a month ago, screen was perfect just too small so took it back and got this one & oh boy👍 my family and I LOVE it.... Beautiful Clear Picture!!!
Goot Brown I want this but I already have a 65 inch and want an 85 inch. Maybe I should just get this idk
How much did you spend for the 75"?
$1299
Would love to see a side by side of the TCL 6 75 inch and the Vizio P 75 inch (not quantum), for selfish reasons. The Vizio P 75 is 1399 at Sams club right now and i'll likely be purchasing it soon.
P series wins, in specs and visual performance. Check rtings comparison tool to compare the two. Squeaks out in most of the factors. Great TV but id recommend a 4K roku stick or Fire Stick to replace chromecast os
Great video caleb hopefully During your review set up tcl has fixed the dirty screen effect
Just got a 65" version. I think they fixed the panel lottery issues because mine came perfect and the box says 2019 on it. The TV blew my expectations and happily replaced my 4 series
iMiguelAOG do you know if I hook an Apple TV with it and turn on will it bypasses the Roku menu and go straight to the Apple TV or do I have to wait. On my 4 series it says “switching to Apple TV hdmi” and takes a few seconds
@@ArnoldNathan I actually didn't know that was a thing.
iMiguelAOG yep
How much?
@@Jekyll_Island_Creatures $700
Did you know online you can buy a universal TV stand that has the base in the middle. ? You can set your TV on smaller TV stands.
1:14 "and then you know what comes next, we get to screwin". 😅
Hahaha
Compare it to the Sony 950G AND Vizio P series.
Sony is on a different level
LiquidSm0ke what Sony do you recommend
Arnold Nathan I have a Sony 900f 65 inch and it blows away my older Samsung ks8000
Seriously, looking forward to your review of this TV!! I bought one today! It'll be delivered on Friday. What do you think about a 4K HDMI Splitter to add more ports? Also, what HDMI cables do you think work best with this TV?How many nits does it have? How does it compare to the Sony 950G and 75" Vizio P Series TVs? Keep up the great work! Thank you.
Did you get your tv yet ??
@@ArnoldNathan
Yes and I dig it! HD signals from cable, Netflix, prime, and hulu look great. The PS4 looks amazing. The 4k picture is stunning. I recommend getting the voice remote version. My console is 65" long. It fits Just fine. I've had it for three days and I haven't made any adjustments to the picture just yet. I'm glad that I didn't overspend to get a big brand TV of this size. The big three TV brands better watch out. Can't wait to hear what Digital Trends thinks about this TV. I'm happy with it right now.
Av just bought it 55 inch am soo happy😂😂😂clap for me
Purchased this last month, promptly took it back. It was actually *too* big for what I was planning, but aside from that, mine had pretty lousy uniformity, along with solid dark spots scattered around the screen. I expect this is from where the LED backlighting system was implemented, but man you could see it in every scene that wasn’t pitch black. Very distracting. Picture quality was nice, but with the aforementioned issue, I couldn’t live with it without it driving me crazy. I’m also not a fan of the Roku user interface and OS, just seems outdated and clunky, but that’s just personal opinion. Hope this set works better for others, didn’t work for me.
Has TCL kept the 6 series for another year? Any updates to the panel issues with 55" sets? Thought it was against the TV laws to keep the same name 2 years in a row.
@So No Name 1 other TV made in the last 5-10 years that has the identical model # 2 years in a row!
Soap opera effect... I really love this effect! I get it that you don’t like soap opera effects on your TVs, just don’t assume that’s everyone’s preference. Maybe it’d be a good idea not to mention this in upcoming reviews 😉
Apart from that you’re doing a great job and I appreciate your reviews and unboxings 👍
wow i was hoping to get a measurement from the legs to see if i should get one thank You!
Are we still going to see a performance review of the Hisense H8F would like to see a comparison of these 2 budget tv’s.
yes... where is the hisense review?
There was a recall on the 65 inch h8f. I'm sure that's why he hasnt done it yet.
Don't do it, when it comes to the Hisense, the blacks on this TCL TV is the closest you will get to OLED quality for the price . Trust me. I have the 55 in my room , the 75 in my living room and the 65 in the basement. Fantastic TV for the price .. seriously
J Salinas
I have the 65” TCL but also purchased the 55” Hisense H8F about a month ago and I can tell you that the blacks on the Hisense are as good as the TCL possibly better..would like to see a shootout between the 2.
@@bet9898 But i don´t live on the US here in Europe i don´t have the TCL TV´s... Just Hisense... :(
Great video! What is the length with the inverted stands? Thanks!
Having one delivered in two days. Really looking forward to gaming on it.
Take a video!
@@Jekyll_Island_Creatures I dont have a ps4 pro or xbone x so anything I'll play would be at 1080p. This more future proofing for the next console gen.
I bought the 2019 55" 6 series a few months ago just for gaming and I love it. I didnt want to spend too much just for a gaming TV and the low input lag was a huge selling point.
@@duhstymunkey8830 yeah that's why I was looking at this one. Great size for the price with decent refresh rates.
Could you do a review on the Toshiba 4K LED Fire TV Edition (any size)? I saw one in person yesterday and the picture quality seemed way better than reviews have said, and especially better than anything I've seen for the price. Thanks!
Am I the only one that noticed this is a 75R615 not a 75R617 on the description! Look at the instruction booklet I the beginning!
So happy your reviewing the 75 inch. In the market for one and its between this and the vizio p 75 f1.
Is this TV only 60hz and is it a 8 or 10 bit. I don't game, just cable and movies.
I have high hopes for this TV. Television prices are insane right now.
Questions for your Upcoming Review:
1) What is the difference between the 65" (2018) and 75" (2019) other than size? Is TCL coming out with a 2019 65" model?
2) I am surprised that there is No Amazon Prime button on the TV Remote. Can these be changed?
3) Why does the 65" Series 5 appear to be so much thinner than the Series 6? I would expect a higher end series to be thinner.
Thanks for your videos, looking forward to your review :-)
Thanks for mentioning 62" wide on the feet. I didn't catch the approx weight.
this info is great i just ordered tcl 6 series- a 75 inch a 65-inch and a 55-inch from best buy
Yeah i got mine for $899!!!! 😊😊😊👍👍👍👌👌👌
Just bought one on sale from Best Buy because it’s on sale for 100.00 less then anyone else. Arrives this Saturday and can’t wait to see it in my house
David Wiley and how do you like it?
Junior Barthelemy best tv I’ve ever owned. Regular HD is good and bright. All other formats just get better. True 4K with Dolby Atmos is amazing. This picture quality is like looking through a window. Buying this 75” TCL made me go out and buy a new 4K 9.2 receiver with Atoms just to enjoy the experience even more.
Wow!! This is great to hear!! Really helpful. I have a 55-inch TCL 4K HDR and I love it!! Looking to upgrade to diverging Biggs but needed that extra expert opinion, especially from someone who owns a TCL
I got a 65" Vizio because we use Chromecast and it had 4 HDMI inputs to Samsung's 2 HDMI ports for the same money
Another excellent review thanks.
You could have got a little bit of it from each edge before turning it around that way it would have been easier to take off after you've turned it all the way around. I enjoyed that whole sequence thanks for that.
Im considering getting the sony 950g so now I'm unpetiancely waiting for the review of this tv
mo veezy
Being a user, it’s awesome. Trust me. Worth every penny
@@ArunKumar-lf5oc are you talking bout the tcl or the sony
I was trying to save up for the 85 inch Sony 900f but I’ve been really interested in this just wish it was 85 inch.
@ mo veezy
Obviously Sony
@@ArunKumar-lf5oc thats what i was thinking I have a 65 inch 900e and want a larger display
Please compare this TV to the 950g and 900f thank you
Solid this is all I want.
I wish this tv came in 85 inch
Is that the Steel Bridge we are looking at put your window? Looked through some other videos of yours and it the same shot never wider so I have to ask. Love this tv my wife and I bought the 55 inch for our bedroom.
Thanks for the unboxing video, just saw TLC 85" for sale , thinking of getting it. My question is ,does it have wall mounts available for a TV this size ?.
Thanx for The good Video 😊
I alwyas watch ypur videos to zee how tv sits on that fabulous tv table ..
..☺
Just got this tv last month nice upgrade from my lg uh6100 and getting the plastic off the back gave me a workout too lol only thing I hate is when you view from an angle you lose picture quality
I would definitely like to know how it compares to the market leaders.
Just ordered this TV, is there a wall mount you can recommend that can handle this beast?
How is it? Any DSE?
@@dreadfulx3455 I honestly truly wanted to like it, the one I got had a few dead pixels but the screen uniformity was good. The dead pixels and black letter box blooming caused me to return it but I could have just gotten a bad one.
Ryan 2e That’s a shame! If you do it again I recommend going through Best Buy, I bought the 75 inch through them last Friday and ran a dirty screen test and no dead pixels, VERY impressive uniformity for this size tv (ran a 5-20% grey dirty screen test), I went back and bought a 2 year warranty. Also blooming wasn’t an issue for me, but it’s worth mentioning you can lower the local contrast to medium or low if the grid gets too aggressive
I sit in an area where the tv is directly in front of me and my eyes are looking towards the center so all the blacks I see are OLED level, but if you sit off axis from the thing it is possible you could get some blooming 🤔
been checking out the 75 " hdtvs this looks like a winner ,what about the 2020 model?? when?
I'm interested in seeing if they still have the built-in ad tracking. They probably do, but I'm hoping they don't.
Unboxing my 75" 6 series at this very moment....following these steps.
Hey there, just wanted to say great video . Also, wanted to ask you, I have two plasma tv’s . One is a Samsung 6 series, the other is a Panasonic entry level tv. Forgive me, but I don’t recall the model number. In my opinion, those still have a great picture, but I want to get a tv for my basement. I’m on a budget now though, so I want to spend as little as possible. How does this tv compare to those entry level plasmas ?
How is the brightness and glare compared to the samsung Q90? Will the TCL be a good choice for a living room with lots of windows?
Can you do some Philips ambilight TV s reviews ? Quite interested to see your thoughts on them thanks.
Legends say he's still unwrapping the TV
😂
Always a fan of reviews for TV's above 65". Other than HDR, TV's at 65" and below really don't warrant 4K content as the screen size to viewing distance is just too far apart.
I sit about 8 ft from my 65 and, respectfully, you don' know what you're talking about. My set looks great, primarily because of the resolution but also the HDR. 4K means you can't see the individual pixels even when very close. Screen size viewing distances are basically obsolete. I even use my 65" as a computer monitor.
I’ve been really wanting this tv. But I also wanted to save for the Sony 900f 85 inch. That will probably take me a Bout another year to save up for. Should I wait or get this ?
Yeah how about posting the calibration settings when you get done with it
Random question. Is this the 617 or 615 version? Where did the natural Cinema option go? Isn't that the way to reduce judder in films? Or does this option not exist anymore?
And how low is input lag too
Just tell me about the gray uniformity performance with sports, mainly hockey, soccer, & football.
So tell us about how bright tv can go(nits) how many dimming zones has,it has dolby vision or atmos??? and how good is in dark room😀😀😀😀😀
Value for money
I have the little 50" version of this in the bedroom.
I like the Roku OS as we already use Roku on all off our other TVs, but I'm not a fan of TCL using the crappier IR Roku remote rather than the much better RF remote included with the Roku Ultra.
I believe you can hook up any newer roku remote to the TV
What size are the screws for the tv stand legs? I lost my original screws and brought the wrong size screws
Am I weird for never pulling the plastic off the corners ?
Can you talk about hooking up to a Sonos sound system? I've read that it can be glitchy. Maybe need a universal remote? Thx
Hi,
my TV table is 40cm depth, I want to buy TCL 75 inch TV, but I got to know the TV stand base depth is also 40cm.
so is the stand adjustable?
can it be rotated?
👍 Great looking TV!
I will connect my Xbox 1x, please review input lag and gaming specs. Will it pair up right?

Does the 75'' 2019 6-Series still suffer the same banding issues that's plagued the 55'' and 65'' 2018 6-Series TVs?
I just bought the 65 inch new for 699 at best buy and it has zero banding so i dont know what people r complaining about it has a better picture than my sony x900e
@@daviddougher8637
the 65'' would be the 2018 unit.
I'm going back and forth between the 65r617 and the NU8500 (which I can get for $918 new on Amazon; free shipping tax free).
I previously had the TCL 65'' r421 for $479+tax but it had difficulty connecting to my PS4 Pro so I reluctantly returned it...I'm unsure whether I want to try TCL again.
My 55 6 series has no issues..
I keep the plastic on cause I feel it keeps the tv fresh and fresh from finger prints from getting on tv.
How many dimming zones?
Im torned between lg sk9000 and tcl 6series. 65inch. They are the same price here. What would you recommend?
What would the legs be if you turn them around towards the inside spacing
Please also compare with Vizio p series quantum 2019 model. I am very confused in between them. Currently i am thinking to buy either Vizio or Tcl so please help me.
Tcl c6 vs tcl p8s side by side we needed ???? Do it soon please waiting.
What do you do with all the TVs you review
Hi, do you know that this tv can cast amazon prime video with its built in chrome cast ?
Your hdr video of the Peruvian salt mines.... I’ve been there
Is good for gaming?
Who needs a projector with tv this big or even 82-85 inches.
