The room might have a long timer, because there might be situations where someone hasn't played portal 1/2, and doesn't know the stuff and what they do? And with it being 3 different rooms, and some puzzles crossing over between rooms, I can see people getting stuck, not knowing what to do or where to go or how to solve things for a long, loooong time.

Extremely good point. I hadn't considered the huge difficulty bump of the binary puzzles for non-portal fans especially.
