Or because it’s fun to gamble. There’s a chance the chest doesn’t give the adventurer an item. So you gamble for the chance. It’s a mechanic in the game, and we were winning easily. There’s no reason to not have a little fun and do it
While it looks like fun for a little bit, the game core balance design is a problem. You frontload all your defense while your opponent powers up. By the time its strong enough to beat what you have at the start, nothing else is a challenge. The reverse of this is you put a barrier at the start and take the time to upgrade whats behind it to be stronger (which, you ideally want to stop him sooner anyway as otherwise you're just constantly getting pushed back to your next strongest thing)... The game needs to utilise more debuffing. Walls/barriers/traps being oneshot make their value pretty poor. Your creatures not attacking while the adventurer is attacking barricades is a mistake etc. I think the design needs more thought otherwise the longevity and potential to win runs is likely to be very low.

this was actually really charming
This was pretty cool to watch. I liked the idea of how your guys gained power based on how well you did after completing the objectives.
Why does he keep taking the gold chest for 820 just to then buy the gear it gives the adventurer for 2364…?
Because it’s fun.
because hes stupid
Or because it’s fun to gamble. There’s a chance the chest doesn’t give the adventurer an item. So you gamble for the chance. It’s a mechanic in the game, and we were winning easily. There’s no reason to not have a little fun and do it
I feel like a reverse tower defense would be a crater assault
I would't call it reverse tower defence. I mean you are still placing tower and defending from people going in.
why do you keep taking the chests, they are mathematically guaranteed to screw you over
Because they’re fun. And we’re obliterating the game so why not?
I think the design needs more thought otherwise the longevity and potential to win runs is likely to be very low.
hey olexa love ur content
Anyways I bought this game thanks to this.
This game looks awesome.
29:39 It's freaking Abagail from Don't Starve omg 😮
ah yes, the ghost that gets killed by any large enemy
*gets the adventurere an item... imediately buys it back for more than he got from giving it* xD
Also you're not the bad guy?? clickbait title! you're the good guy in this story!
This game looks like something i wanted to discover to play at these days when you litelary had an empty head for games
reminds me of the Japanese game No Heros Allowed thats also a rouge like about building your own dungeon to defend against waves of heros, really in depth game too
Would this be.. a Tower Offense game ? If it's a reverse defense, that is.
part 2 when........................................................................................................................................................................please
37:00 thats what the reroll is for - to get a better rng map
dude at first you seen gonna loose but the end you are the true villian Lmao 😂😂
I swear, that sounds effect when you first get the spider is the exact same one from legend of grimrock when you find a secret...
This reminds me of Villainous, a flash game I was a huge fan of.
Ghost, spooky ghost, hot guy
Bluds hired Odd1Out to make the humans. 💀
42:16 its not hard to reed it, actually i read it yeah the mix of fond colour and size makes it hard but not inposible 😅
There is Villanous on Kongregate...
am i missing something or does he keep taking the treasure that gives him money and then he spends more money buying the item from the adventurer?
Yes, but what you’re missing is it’s only a % chance that it gives the adventurer an item. So it’s just risk reward to get money from the chest. It’s pretty clearly stupid to take the money from the chest unless you really need it but we were winning so much that I didn’t really care. It’s fun to click and get a chance for money
Is it just me or is "Isolde" a pun?
As in, "I-solde my soul for you"
Actual Reverse tower defence is Tower Attack
If anyone wants that. read the millions of Korean Tower climbing Manhwah
The intro is pretty much a pitch for a new Clash of Clans clone
this guy seems like he finds hidden gem roguelikes. i heard he can even find pretty well hidden ones too.
You were quite slow man
Thanks for the feedback
2:30 - the colors are cool but the numbers are kinda unreadable, a thin black border would do wonders there
This reminded me of "Holy Invasion Of Privacy, Badman"/"What Did I Do To Deserve This, My Lord"/"No Heroes Allowed" for the PSP
Screw you, localizers. Pick a dang name 😅
15:00 - idk, you've been destroying all the webs, the black widow is spawning 2 spiders that only spawns the web. also there are rerolls...
I feel like on this one you should indded start being behind rn...
Looks to me you can spend your rerolls to randomize the dungeon walls.
Bro got the treasure chest +225 gold just to spend it on removing the item 😂
this game is sick
40:00 just loosing my mind seeing you have a strong butterfly and instead of using yout traps after it for future rounds, you just put them in the first tile where he's gonna die anyway, like WHY WHY
YOU EFFECT THE LEVEL BY HITTING THE REROLL BUTTON BEFORE HITTING ACCEPT
Get 225 gold to buy item from adventurer for 309. Peak genius right there 😅
Sometimes you gotta take the risk
Reverse tower defense… Reminds me of Anomaly Warzone Earth, first game by 11bits (studio that later created Frost Punk). Maybe it will be worth your time? I have really good memories with it
Bro made Dungeon Keeper in 2024
