    What XLR microphone are you using for your setup? 🎙

    • @AleSalvino
      @AleSalvino 2 года назад

      On the road, I use the Sony XLR-K3M adapter with the ECM-XM1 Shotgun Mic. At home I rarely make videos these days but have a Sennheiser MKH 416 ready to go (with a Zoom H6). And finally as back up a Rode Pro+ (I used it on my first 20-25 videos, if not more!) :)

      @@AleSalvino Wow! You must have gotten that XLR-K3M on release. I think that thing is still backordered. But even without that, you are truly ready for any situation! I can only imagine how heavy your bag must be.

    Super cool tutorial Mike, love it! Simple and straight to the point. This can save hours when starting making videos. I still remember my first videos, I had no clue about XLR, adaptors, sync, etc. That's why I love RUclips so much, for videos like yours :)

      Thanks Ale! Definitely glad not to sync in post anymore. Things like this seem insignificant but over a while it makes the process even less painful. Your vlog style content is very personal esp with the proximity of the camera to you. I wonder how it would feel if you used a lavalier and were far from the camera in your environment 🤔

      @AleSalvino 2 года назад

      @@MikeBSalazar totally agree! :) Fair point, I wonder how too haha, don't do a lot of those shots but worth exploring that at some point, any good mic to recommend?

      @MikeBSalazar  2 года назад

      @@AleSalvino You may want to look into the Rode Wireless Go II. I like how you can have it picked up by a receiver that can plug into your camera, but also serve as a on-person mic at the same time and record to your sending mic just in case the receiver loses signal or something. DJI also made a new wireless mic kit, but I don't know much about it.

      Big upgrade there man! That's what's up! Depending on how many inputs that you need or may need in the future, for now you could stick with Focusrite Scarlett Solo. If you think you'll add more mics in the future like a podcast, you could take a look at the Zoom H6.

    What about getting an XLR to 3.5mm adapter? I have a Podtrak p4 and I do a live interview with another guest; how would I be able to specify which microphone would go to. my camera?

    • @MikeBSalazar
      @MikeBSalazar  Год назад +2

      Good question. I just bought one too. If using a podtrak, i would still do the same though just use a 3.5 to 3.5 and plug one end to the line out of the podtrak and the other to the camera. Assuming you’re using two different mics. If anything the podtrak can split the tracks anyway if you needed

      Valid point. Use the audio recorder directly and use it like a mic but perhaps some people prefer the quality and or look of using their own XLR microphone. You still maintain the quality of the audio going thru the audio recorder.
