Thanks for putting that together Mark..nice images and story telling of the day. Once again my favourite shots are the pan blurs, they look great especially the last one..
It makes it very difficult when you arrive late that’s for sure! If you are a fussy photographer like me and like to get the most you can out of a shift, but we made the best of a bad job and still grabbed all the action which counts most
Hi mark looking forward to the updated video editing,is there anyway you might be able to up date tell us in camera the picture profile you use including contrast, saturation to make pictures pop for less editing on pc,great video as usual.
Although not directly related to this video, by setting the 'Info Text' in PM you can customise the info shown on the top right of the preview screen. This will allow showing the caption with the photo and focusing on relevant info. Maybe this would be a great add-on to your upcoming video on editing? I have set my 'info text' to the following codes: {headline} {caption} ({credit}) --- Date: {date} {time} Category: {cat} / Object: {object} Event: {event} Location: {location} Place: {city}, {country} People: {persons} Keywords: {keyw} --- Camara: {modl} Lens: {lenstype} Aperture: f/{f} @ {focallength}mm Exposure: {shut} ± {comp} Focus mode: {focusmode} ISO: {iso} Program: {prgm} ICC Profile: {icc} --- Software: {firmware}
Great info, thanks ever so much for that input. Every day is a learning day for all of us so really appreciate your comment and sharing that extra information.👍🏻
For anyone else going to the ground, They have moved the accreditation ticket office that Mark refers to, It is a hidden window where the fans collect their tickets
Smoke bomb flares are arrestable inside a ground and as I understand possibly going to a ground an offense. This flares can cause breathing problems with someone who may have poor lungs. I would personally like stiff sentences of a minimum of a 10 year ban or possibly longer, even to all non league grounds as well as all football grounds. I know of someone who had a nasty reaction to the flare smoke in the past and ended up in hospital with it a few years ago. Anyway, a great channel and another great video. Currently watching this in Mallorca after a near 900 mile fantastic drive down from my home. Back to photographing footie in 2 Saturdays time again.
Watching in Mallorca, that’s absolutely fantastic, thanks ever so much for watching. No doubt you are probably back home now so I hope you had a great trip.

Hi mark great video ,just have a quick question, just wondering what would be a better lens for football photography. The Sony 70-200 2.8 or the Sony 200-600 5.6-6.3? Thanks would the 200 600 be to zoomed in for the majority of the game and would the 70 -200 be enough zoom range ? Thanks 🙏
That’s a real difficult question because to cover football properly you obviously need two lenses! And with the 200-600 you wouldn’t be able to capture any action close in and that’s what really counts so I would go for the 70-200 if I had to make that choice
@@MarkKerton thank you very much for getting back to me, i was thinking I could always get a teleconverter for the 70 200 also that could help a bit thanks again

Great video Mark. Hate being late to a ground. Always like to be there at least an hour and a half before a game to get settled in and get set up for the action. I tried the R5 MKII using the soccer priority settings last Friday evening at a game. Bit of a disaster I'm afraid. Two sets of AF points in the view finder, one set by the camera and the other my AF point which I was trying to place on a player as normal. The camera couldn't make up its mind which player was the target and as I tried to get the thing to focus on the player I wanted, in the end up neither acquired focus and the shot was lost. This happened a lot in the first 10 minutes so I quickly disabled the tracking and changed the setting back to single pt AF. Worked more like my R3 but focus was just a tad slower than the R3 using the EF200-400 F4. I persevered until half-time and grabbed the R3 from the bag and put the R5 MKII back into cold storage until I get a better look at the AF settings which are as comprehensive and convoluted as anything I've ever experienced. The R3 was a doddle in comparison to this thing to set up.
Ooh heck, sounds a nightmare David! I sack off the focus tracking after one game. Just no good at all for a sport with many bodies running around! Great for athletics or motorsport where we can target an individual subject but not multiples
Cracker as always Mark and thanks for picking my photo for the banner too. Well chuffed 😊
Thanks for watching👍🏻 That biking pic is superb and certainly fit to hit the banner👍🏻

Thanks Martin. Yeh, I love trying a pan blue. Get quite disappointed if I don’t manage one!
Some great action shots Mark, love the keeper/player/ball in the air and the corner ball shot. Debbie Gould
Thanks for watching Debbie, top subscriber👍🏻
Definitely agree with getting there (or any event) nice and early and ease into it.

Joe Dent is a great photographer and I'm thrilled he has given me a few compliments about my photos of the Peterborough United Women's Team.
He sure is! I was look forward to heading to Peterborough and having a quick chat with Joe👍🏻

Curious, are you shooting full manual? If so, do you set auto ISO and just keep an eye so it doesn’t get too high? Enjoying the channel!
Hello Mark, what lens were you using when you were at 400mm with f2.8 aperture?
Hi. I use a fixed prime lens RF400 f2.8👍🏻
