Love the sports photography. I shot my first football game a month ago and have now been invited to my local team for home games. I've learned a lot from watching these thanks for putting them out!
Hi Mark, enjoy your videos. Shooting in Australia I sometimes suffer harsh light and dark shadows on my subjects making exposure challenging. I will be keeping your GK silhouette/rim lighting idea in mind for next season. Nice solution of turning a problem into an advantage. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Mark. Love your videos but one question can you bring back the videos where you film yourself at the games? Also, I’m thinking about photographing some rugby soon, do you have any tips?
Good shout. I do sometimes check out these scenes IF it’s on offer and the right composition works. However, I have been caught out wasting too much time trying for these images in the past. I love capturing pre match stuff around grounds. It often makes me want to try street photography actually. It’s a fine balance I guess, between capturing something different and keeping to a tight image schedule in my mind before heading into the stadium. I’ll see what I can do tomorrow around Sincil Bank👍🏻
Hi Mark, I’ve recently come across your videos and they have helped me so much as I’ve just started. I’m looking to upgrade my lens for sports photography but my budget is around £300 as I’m 15 😅 it would be amazing if you could recommend some and I look forward to the next video!
Hey up Phil, how’s it going mate? Do you get to all the Home games? Will keep an eye out for you.👍🏻 still think of that game at Eastleigh where we bumped into each other at the ground. That day was the start of my sports photography! Seeing the photographers pics side made me want to have a go and here we are! COYI! Or is it UTFI😂
@@MarkKerton Very rarely up there to be honest mate. Down in Paignton now. Ha, I remember that Eastleigh game. Think we were getting thumped and I was heading for the exit early. I can imagine watching the photographers was preferable to the game that day! You're looking well anyway, guessing you have a big birthday up next as well. 😲
Good day Mark. I have been following your channel for a long time. Recently bought R3 and R5. Question about the Noise reduction setting at high ISO. As far as I remember, you have the value High. I tried to shoot with this setting and already at ISO 3200 the photos turn out very blurry. Do you have this problem? Thanks in advance
Hi Mark Great to see video again from you What do you use to film your b roll of you sitting shooting the game? Or would a action camera mounted ontop of camera b a option?
Hi Mark. Would like to hear your thoughts on the R5ii with all of it’s new features ( especially for football ). The pre capture, higher frame rate, audible shutter sound etc should make for a great sports camera.
Like the R3, take all the hype about the in-built AF features with a pinch of salt. I have the R5 mkii, I did try the inbuilt soccer setting, but turned it off as soon as I realised its accuracy wasn't sufficient for pro needs. If you're shooting general football, it might well be fun to try, but if you genuinely need specific shots I'd be very wary about placing reliance on it to deliver what you need. In terms of AF performance, its comparable to the R3 which is terrific. However like the R3 I have shutter speed limited to 15fps, plus I have the image size set to M which is equivalent to the R3. More than enough for football images for papers and online use.
Thanks Mark, I love the goalkeeper shot.
The Kerton Ramble, so excellent mate. That ground suits you. Best set yet.
Hi Mark, thank you for the video, absolutely love the goalkeeper shot, using the light to your advantage, love it, cheers, Pete.👍

Mark why not try for some documentary type shots pre game around the burger vans or programme sellers etc?

Photographing the last home soccer game this weekend. Love catching your videos!
Love the marmite shot.
Shooting first playoff game for Las Vegas Lights USL league step down from MLS
Good luck
Think the team sheet is instead of a programme which they stopped producing last season. Lincoln really should be you first club btw!! 😉 Phil J.
