Oh my, how did I miss this one?! This is amazing Dan (: Really love the concept of making fugues from memes. This particular subject is really distinctive. Keep up the great writing!
It's impressive! And beautiful! I'm far from you level haha. I found this very small part and transition at bars 86-89 so wonderful and well found. I was a bit disturbed with what happens next at first but I read the description and now I get the Shostakovich part (I'm in the process of learning to understand and appreciate his world ). You got a new subscriber without hesitation 😊.
Thanks. I had only planned for it to be very short - more of a fughetta - but I found further ways of developing the subject so it became more substantial.

Thanks - glad you enjoyed it! Looking forward to your next piece too. 👍
An incredible job with such a small and bare theme!
Why is this not famous yet?! It's a masterpiece...loved it!
Thanks.
I think the ultimate outcome of this would be if Steven He got to hear it and then played it himself.
Very nice pedal point there at the end sir! Great fugue!
Splendid. Lost for words
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks. Yes I was experimenting with more striking modulations here. It can be found in Bach too which is interesting.
EPIC!!
Wow. You really did a 3min peace. I am very impressed by both quality and quantity fugue over such a meme

Are the blue notes the subject?
Yes that's right.
