- 306-km New Rewari-New Madar section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC)
Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India is constructing the Western DFC (1506 Route km) and Eastern DFC (1875 route km including Sonnagar-Dankuni PPP Section). The EDFC starting from Sahnewal near Ludhiana (Punjab) will pass through the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand to terminate at Dankuni in West Bengal. The Western Corridor connecting Dadri in Uttar Pradesh to Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) in Mumbai will traverse through the states of UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra of WDFC.
The 1.5 km long trains consist of 90 BLC Wagons and two brake vans have a gross weight of 4941 tons destined to Mundra port in Gujarat.
Front loco is WAG 12 Loco manufactured at Indian Railways make in India factory at Madhepura, Bihar.
The second loco which is attached in the middle and working as a piped loco of the long haul train is WAG 9 of 6000 HP built from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), West Bengal, India.
The WAG -12 electric super powered double-section locomotives of 12,000 HP are capable of hauling 6000 tonnes at a top speed of 120 kmph. They are planned to be deployed for operations on major freight routes, including the Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs), transforming the heavy freight transportation landscape of India. These locomotives manufactured at Madhepura are of 12,000-horsepower with a twin Bo-Bo design, engineered to run at a speed that is twice as faster than regular locomotives and are built to carry 6000 tonnes of goods in one go. Equipped with Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBT) based propulsion technology, the WAG 12B uses regenerative braking, reducing energy consumption. With 1676 mm of Broad Gauge, these e-locos are designed to take smooth turns even at the sharpest of curves.

Greetings from Australia. That’s an impressive train. That must be the tallest reach I’ve ever seen on a pantograph. We double stack here but only using well wagons, as in North America, although occasionally you’ll see half height containers on top of standard containers on a normal flat car. And certainly not under overhead power lines; diesel power only.
Yeah, except for our double stack trains are more mainland of Australia
India has broad gauge , so it compensates for not using the well wagons , in terms of keeping the centre of gravity low
Well cars would only increase the length of the train. Since our gauge is bigger these cars are sufficient. Also double stacks can only run in DFC's because these corridors are built with extra height clearance.
@@finger3215 our double stack trains in Australia are usually about 1800 metres long. The length is restricted by the length of passing loops, as most of our long distance routes are single track. The new Inland Rail route being built between Melbourne and Brisbane is planned to eventually have 3600 metre passing loops to allow longer trains.
@@Crosshead1 Well the problem with freight in India is that freight trains for long have shared the same tracks as passenger ones. So all around our tracks too are built more according to shorter passenger trains. This forced the freights to be short as well. Once our DFC gets all running, we will be relieved of slow trains, hopefully.
I from Japan. I think to Indian double stack-car trains are longest and greatest than Japanese freight trains.
That's broad guage and can handle more load
Japan dont need much of these japan is a thin country with coast near evrey where and japan is super mountainous as well we have majority of populations living in hinter lands aways from coast that why we need such big train and even bigger if necessary
some freight trains are even 2.5km long
@@dynamo429 this can be done with normal guage aswell. They wagons only get a a bit smaller in widt thats it. normal gauge could handle the same load. The reason why india uses broad/wide guage tracks is because all of indian tracks use broad/wide guage. Except metros, and the new rrts system uses normal guage.
Wao.... Indian railways is on another level..

Nice! Greetings from Hungary!
They should try converting railway into a factory , hospital , lodging rooms, science labs, Power House , water purifier , kitchen even school or class room.moving school etc..that is useful in situations of disasters or critical areas..
It's already done China so we can
Is this mad max and metro 2033 combo or something?!!! What nonsense! But definitely, we should have more touring trains with dining coaches bars, and such. How trains used to be back in the day.
Great. Hats off to our great Indian Railways.
Just like in America, only with cabooses and electric locomotives instead of diesel locomotives and unmanned DPU mid-train and rear-train helpers!
But in America the trains run on standard guage. Indian Railways run on broad. Infact the largest Broad Gauge Railway network
Caboose,
Electric,
Flat cars,
Wide gauge.
I think that's different.😌
We can't remove caboose and other manned stuff as IR is not only made for transportation but it is also considered a big employer .
If everything becomes automatic no doubt the efficiency will increase but unemployment will also increase.
IR employs about 1.25 million people in country
I seen in America that much long train but I'm seeing in India proud of Indian railways

Name of this engine is WAG -12.

I think in future they will remove wag9 and a single wag12 loco will be enough.
Naa, they don't for numbers of reasons
every locomotive works for diffrent purpose for example-WAP7 (Co-Co ) bogie system) is used by most Rajdhani express ( heavy loads requires more power) because of good Tractive effort than WAP5 ( Bo-Bo)for Shatabdi exp ( for high speed with lessload & quick accelaration )
Wag-9 will required watch khan sir's video
Wag 9 needed because ek hi engine hoga tho coupling pe bahut jyada load aa jayega
This is multiple trains(2 freight trains) coupled together.WAG9 is hauling another freight train.

I think America should find a way of making electric freight trains work!..
No then how big oil companies make profit.
It won't work bc American freight trains go through rough areas like snowy mountain ranges
@@NorCaliRailroading2023 no its not gonna work cause ur frieght trains are privately owned
@@NorCaliRailroading2023 in india almost 93% of our railway network is already electrified and soon 100% will be electrified but also new tracks adding up every year. We also have Kashmir a snowy area where the railway tracks are already electrified, that particular region receives enormous snowfall and rough and fragile Himalayan mountain range. If we can do it, america can surely do it, that's just the perspective or bc railways are privately owned instead of being central owned
