Wow, y’all have an amazing farm & homestead. We are working off of 2.5 acres with chickens, Kune Kune pigs, & soon quail. We have two horses and not enough room for goats or a couple of cows yet. We are working on extending to a 3rd pasture to relieve the 1st pasture to make more gardens again and extend our little orchard. No matter how big or small your property is, just make the best of it! Thank you for sharing your lives and giving inspiration, I truly appreciate it! And you both do a lot of work to keep it up. I had two uncles that were farmers that were my father’s two brothers. My father was a truck driver. And there was one farmer on my mother side, but he raised cattle. And he was the only one that did any farming because my mother‘s family was sharecropper picking cotton. So all the rest of the kids didn’t want anything to do with it when I come to Farm except the one brother.
Sad!! I hate to see farms being sold from small farmers to large corporations

I would think you would have to have employees. We absolutely don’t all on our own- we do not hire people to tend our farm
Chores start at 4 am and some night in the summer we are up until 10 or 11 pm
Colby works full time off the farm and we will manage to keep our farm ourselves :)

Your homestead is beautiful! Wish we had some flat land, we have 5 acres on a steep hillside. I’m trying to make it work, we’ve got some kunekune’s and goats to clear brush. Hopefully I can make a couple Dexter cows work .

You have such a beautiful farm there! The only thing that I have growing is two blueberry bushes. I’ve never seen blueberry plants so tall as yours. Do you know what variety they are? We live in an HOA unfortunately and I hate the restrictions that we have here. At 78 years old and disabled and my wife is 66 and disabled due to a severe stroke so we are pretty much stuck here. I would have loved to have had a farm like yours, but my goodness the work that you two have. You two are amazing! Such a wonderful family you have too. You all are truly blessed! Thanks for sharing your farm with us!

I love your farm. As a child, I ate pigs, chickens. eggs plus veggies..I got so TENDER hearted. I could not eat what I named. I'd bring the runt inside rock it & sing to it. .
