I gave a bullet point on the important parts of the history of Overwatch in your "Recall" reaction, but here it is again. - Technologic golden age. Mankind builds advanced AIs - AIs revolt and start fighting mankind - Overwatch is made to help protect mankind, led by two guys - One of those two becomes the leader of Overwatch's "Black Ops" unit (Blackwatch) - The AI war is over. Overwatch stays as a "Security Force" around the world - In-fighting between Overwatch and Blackwatch, lots of destruction, possibly the death of both leaders, rumors of corruption. - PETRAS Act is signed because of this. Overwatch is disbanded - Because Overwatch (Worldwide Security Force) is gone, crime returns. This is around where most of the Animated Shorts (and the game itself) takes place. There are a lot of details I skipped over, including names of people, that, if you paid attention, would actually reveal even more lore, but I'm sure you can look it up yourself if you really want to know. :)

she did her ability, she did it on purpose. she checked her self because she was dodging a sniper rifle bullet after it fired. thats an incredibly fast reaction time. she most likely thought she wouldnt dodge it.
She just didn't realise Mondatta was right in the line of fire behind her and that's why she was confused not only that she got away but that he got hit despite. Omnics are robots but civilian omnics are not much more sturdy than humans (as you find out if you play Zenyatta.) And they do *not* make backups of their memories. It ties into the whole omnic rights fight - each omnic wants to be seen as unique or irreplaceable. So dead is dead for Mondatta.
This is the most I can tell you without entering Spoiler territory. The robot that she assassinated was a spiritual leader who was pro peace. As there's tension between Omnixs & Humans due to several wars. Widowmaker is a Assassin from Talon think of them as like Cobra to Overwatch's GI Joe. Herself & Reaper are 2 big fish in the organization along with a few you'll meet later. Tracer isn't rogue, Overwatch was disbanded & forgotten so that is why security reacted that way. She's more like a vigilante at this point. She dodged but it was more of a reflex & her also not realizing the angle of the shot. P.s Tracer's Booty was caught up in a controversy, one of her posses was removed do to it. So you're opening some old wounds there. Lol
i mean come on. spoiler's don't matter in overwatch because there is nothing about the story in the game lol. and i doubt people who don't play the game are invested enough to go around and read lore from websites that are not in the actual game :D
Story time Widowmaker is one of the heroes in Overwatch. She is an assassin who possesses no emotion except for the satisfaction of her targets' elimination.Ruthlessly efficient killer who shows neither emotion nor remorse. Widowmaker was married to Gérard Lacroix, an Overwatch agent spearheading operations against the Talon terrorist organization. After several unsuccessful attempts to eliminate Gérard, Talon decided to change its focus to his wife, Amélie. Talon operatives kidnapped her and subjected her to an intense program of neural reconditioning. They broke her will, suppressed her personality, and reprogrammed her as a sleeper agent. Tracer recalled during the snipe and avoided getting hit but unknowingly let mandata take the shot. Recall is an ability where she goes back in time only for herself. Her ultimate is pulse bomb which was the thing she threw at widow maker on the rooftop.
As someone who absolutely loves overwatch, plays it everyday, and is a big part of my life atm. This is a very humble reaction video. Especially hearing you trying to see if this is someones ultimate or not.(when you were talking about tracer. That was actually an ability, not an ultimate but a good guess coming from non overwatch players!) This short is my favorite, especially since I'm a widow main in the dps catagory of the game, and one of my favorite characters (I'm a support main) but seriously loved this reaction video. Ok, don't know if it has been said in other comments, probably, but I add to the ones I've read that summed it up a bit : "Alive" is because of "spiders never feel more alive than at the moment of the kill", nothing more. The robot is apparently not coming back and that doesn't help the human/machine conflict (which was why Talon sent Widowmaker, to further ambient chaos). Tracer "teleporting" or "rewinding time" isn't her ulti. They are both her two main capabilities she can use all the time. Her ulti is the flying sticky bomb she throws and that gets blown up mid-air in this short. And last but not least, the "ultimate shot scene": Widowmaker many lenses and helmet can allow her to see through anything, hence the crosshair changing when she aims at Tracer's chest. The tech calculated the position of her "prey" and she knows it's a fatal headshot. Tracer has no clue, but dodge with her "teleportation" or "blink" capacity, because her chest tech is a regulator that stabilizes her. Her "powers" came after being lost in spacetime when flying in a prototype plane with a specific (quantum? don't remember) reactor. With that tech piece, she can stay stable and use some of that energy to move in certain "special" ways. But if it's destroyed, she vanishes again in space and time and is not sure to return, ever. That's why she "reflex-dodge" and check her armor just after. That's why it's even more cruel from Widowmaker because she either kills Tracer or knows she will HAVE to move ^^". I tell all that because that's not something you'll find in shorts, it's only in the rest of the extended lore and I don't know if you plan on tackling that later. Not a spoil I think/hope ^^", tell me otherwise and sorry if it was "too much" :/.
I don’t know if you guys know this already but Widowmaker is a French character, she had a husband who worked in a organization (I think overwatch or a bad organization) Widowmaker was brainwashed which caused her heart to beat so slow to the point to where her skin is purpleish/blue. When she got brainwashed she killed her husband hence why her name is “Widowmaker”. What Widowmaker said at the end is French it stands for, “bye darling”. That’s all I pretty much know I love ur vids btw!!
Widowmaker (the sniper purple lady) said "A Dieu chérie" which is French for "To god, dear" meaning "Farewell love" which is a nod to how Tracer likes to call people "love"
Guys so Overwatch actually got disbanded because one of their divisions, Blackwatch (led by Gabriel Reyes AKA Reaper) were doing some nasty secret ops, so the UN shut them down. Now Reaper works in a terrorist group. Black Widow used to be the wife of an Overwatch agent but then she was kidnapped and brainwashed to kill her husband, and when she did, she went back to work with the organization that kidnapped her. BTW her skin is blue because she is under-oxygenated so that her heart beats slower and she can get a better shot. If you want better lore, you are not getting it from the videos, you should read the comics, they're free online! And yes, I'm also in this fandom lol
Not sure if anyone’s said it yet, Tracer rewinding herself in time is actually just a basic ability of hers - albeit one with a very long cool down. In game it’s basically the same as Ekko’s ult, minus the damage to enemies when he goes back in time. Her ultimate was actually the bomb she threw a few moments later! I don’t think it looked very strong in the animation, but in game it used to be able to blow up entire teams. It’s a sticky bomb, so popping it on the right tank can give you some good elims. Also, Tracer did rewind herself when Widowmaker made the shot near the end. She was looking confused and panicked more out of “I can’t believe I made it in time” than “How did that happen.”
Reaper (Former OW agent, Former Blackwatch Division leader [Watch OW Retribution cut scene] is working for Talon (Main antagonist organization) which is a third party partly responsible for the downfall of OW and other crime in the OW universe. Tracer probably used recall at the last second, she was checking if her Chronal Accelerator (Her chest device [Tracer was a pilot involved in experimental aircraft accident, trapped in time sorta thing, Winston made the device to anchor her to the present]), she probably had no intention of blocking the shot as she had no idea they were lined up. (Just saw the other comment explaining the shot part but whatever)
There's actually a valid reason that Widowmaker's skin is an icy blue. Talon made her natural heart rate lower, which would greatly reduce the vibrations in her hands and therefore improve her accuracy - after all, even the slightest tremor from the blood vessels could throw off a sniper's aim. This also shut off Widowmaker's emotions almost entirely. Some believe she carries out these kills just so she can feel something - anything - even for only a brief time.
at 7:27 in the video widow maker says "Adieu, chérie", which is French for "Goodbye, love/dear". Basically a play on Tracer's signature "Cheers, love!"
The omnic's (robot's) name was Mondatta. He is an omnic monk, spiritual leader and a peacekeeper. Was, that is. He was also the mentor of Zenyatta, a playable character in the game.
Y'all are probably wondering why Widowmaker is blue. Since it's not revealed in the cinematic and you have to kinda dig for it, it's not necessarily a spoiler. Widowmaker was previously married to a high ranking Overwatch official. Talon tried repeatedly to kidnap him or take him out, but was never successful. So they kidnapped his wife. Brainwashed her. Gave her drugs and surgery to deaden her emotions and slow her heart rate. (hence the blue color, low heart rate). They allowed her to be 'rescued' by Overwatch, and she later killed her husband in his sleep. She fled back to Talon to resume working with them as their deadliest assasin.
If you didn’t know widow maker (the purple lady with the sniper) her husband was apart of overwatch but she got kidnapped and brainwashed to try and take overwatch down. They also messed with her blood flow or something which made her have no emotion and hence to her being purple
Omnics are convinced they have souls and won't be revived. Mondatta was basically the spiritual leader of the Omnics and his assassination kicks off what's called the Second Omnic War.
1. That time rewind isn't her ultimate it's her second ability, her ult is the bomb that she threw at widowmaker (the sniper) 2. Tracer was a pilot for an experimental fighter jet for overwatch that used kinda time travel tech (hard to explain) and something went wrong and that thing on her chest keeps her tethered to this time otherwise she teleports through time and to different places and she can't control it
Tracers ultimate is that bomb, the thing were she went back in time was an ability. And when the bullet went through tracer she just used the ability to go back in time.
Extremely late, but nobody is pointing out the fact that Widowmaker lines it up so she was guaranteed to take out at LEAST one of them. If Tracer didn't recall, she would've died, if she did, her target dies. Best case scenario(for her) is it kills Tracer and penetrates through her to ALSO kill her target.
What these peeps don’t know is Widowmaker’s sad story. Also Tracer’s ultimate ability is the bomb that she threw which caused Tracer to fly off of the roof.

As other nations were similarly invaded and attacked by the Omnics, they were forced to respond in kind as well. We aren’t 100% sure, honestly - Reaper’s past is probably the biggest grey area in the OW canon. With events coming to a head, Winston issues an emergency recall to Overwatch’s agents. Tracer immediately responds to his call, followed afterwards by Mercy, Genji, Torbjörn, Reinhardt, and McCree. Talon agents, led by Reaper and master sniper Amélie Lacroix (AKA Widowmaker) break into a museum attempting to steal a gauntlet belonging to one of their leaders, Akande Ogundimu - better known as Doomfist. Tracer and Winston foil the heist, but the footage is broadcast to the world, proving not only that heroes are back, but necessary during these troubling times. That brings us to present day, where Overwatch and Talon are at war with one another, while the ongoing Omnic Crisis takes place around the world. The first cinematic for Overwatch 2 reveals Winston and the gang taking down a giant Omnic in Paris, and confirming in the end that Overwatch is back.
Also, as others have said, the PETRAS Act is basically like a law passed by the UN to make Overwatch "illegal" because of the bad stuff that happened with them before. But now, because they're "gone", crime is back, and Talon (the bad guys' organisation) is doing a bunch of bad stuff. Widowmaker (blue girl) and Reaper (smoke dude) are kinda like Generals of Talon. They go around doing bad stuff, and Overwatch people try to stop them discreetly (since they would be seen as criminals if they were caught) I'm looking forward to your reactions to the other animated shorts, especially "Dragons" and "Rise and Shine". (The latter breaks me every time I watch it, even after multiple views) And also the "Zero Hour" trailer, but only after you've gone through everything else and become more familiar with the lore.
oh, and as for my favorite Overwatch character, I don't play the game, so my choice is only based on their story and visuals, but my favorite is probably Mei (who is also the Star of the "Rise and Shine" animated short)
Tracer dodged the bullet with one of her abilities, the only reason she looked confused was because she wasn't sure if she dodged in time (I mean she activated her powers when a bullet going at around 1 km per second was inches away from her). It's also an indication that the thing on her torso is very important beyond even her powers.
As for Tracer, her chronal accelerator allows her to manipulate her personal time, like rewinding herself to undo any physical afflictions (like the toxin from Widowmaker's Venom Mine).

The youtube channel TGN has a really good complete history and lore video for overwatch, it's about 20-30 minutes. Highly recommend it, it explains everything that happened all the way up to the beginning of Overwatch 2. I guess after you finish watching all the cinematic trailers, watch that to complete your understanding of the overwatch lore.

SPOILER WARNING!!!! So the story behind this one is that tracer is trying to view the rally that is being held. She noticed that there was some disturbance and went to check it out and encountered "widowmaker" the purple woman. Then the resf is self explanatory. The story behind widowmaker is that she used to be the wife of a mayor and was kidnapped by a group named talon who is the main villan group in the story. She is then brainwashed and forced to kill her husband. She then becomes a main member of talon. And the reason why she is purple is because talon lowered her heart rate which made her colder and to make her better at aiming and to cause her go lose emotions
actually, the reversing time thing is actually just a regular ability! in the game it’s called ‘recall’ and it basically, like you saw, resets back a few seconds to whatever health you had those seconds before and the location.

I thought her chrono accelerator core was just “see through” so the bullet went through. Why else would widow aim for her middle.

Talon operatives kidnapped her and subjected her to an intense program of neural reconditioning. They broke her will, suppressed her personality, and reprogrammed her as a sleeper agent. She was eventually found by Overwatch agents, apparently none the worse for wear, and returned to her normal life.
Two weeks later she killed Gérard in his sleep.
Her mission complete, Amélie returned to Talon, and they completed the process of turning her into a living weapon. She was given extensive training in the covert arts, and then her physiology was altered, drastically slowing her heart, which turned her skin cold and blue and numbed her ability to experience human emotion.

Tracer recalled during the snipe and avoided getting hit but unknowingly let mandata take the shot. Recall is an ability where she goes back in time only for herself. Her ultimate is pulse bomb which was the thing she threw at widow maker on the rooftop.

As someone who absolutely loves overwatch, plays it everyday, and is a big part of my life atm. This is a very humble reaction video. Especially hearing you trying to see if this is someones ultimate or not.(when you were talking about tracer. That was actually an ability, not an ultimate but a good guess coming from non overwatch players!) This short is my favorite, especially since I'm a widow main in the dps catagory of the game, and one of my favorite characters (I'm a support main) but seriously loved this reaction video. Ok, don't know if it has been said in other comments, probably, but I add to the ones I've read that summed it up a bit : "Alive" is because of "spiders never feel more alive than at the moment of the kill", nothing more. The robot is apparently not coming back and that doesn't help the human/machine conflict (which was why Talon sent Widowmaker, to further ambient chaos). Tracer "teleporting" or "rewinding time" isn't her ulti. They are both her two main capabilities she can use all the time. Her ulti is the flying sticky bomb she throws and that gets blown up mid-air in this short. And last but not least, the "ultimate shot scene": Widowmaker many lenses and helmet can allow her to see through anything, hence the crosshair changing when she aims at Tracer's chest. The tech calculated the position of her "prey" and she knows it's a fatal headshot. Tracer has no clue, but dodge with her "teleportation" or "blink" capacity, because her chest tech is a regulator that stabilizes her. Her "powers" came after being lost in spacetime when flying in a prototype plane with a specific (quantum? don't remember) reactor. With that tech piece, she can stay stable and use some of that energy to move in certain "special" ways. But if it's destroyed, she vanishes again in space and time and is not sure to return, ever. That's why she "reflex-dodge" and check her armor just after. That's why it's even more cruel from Widowmaker because she either kills Tracer or knows she will HAVE to move ^^". I tell all that because that's not something you'll find in shorts, it's only in the rest of the extended lore and I don't know if you plan on tackling that later. Not a spoil I think/hope ^^", tell me otherwise and sorry if it was "too much" :/.
I don’t know if you guys know this already but Widowmaker is a French character, she had a husband who worked in a organization (I think overwatch or a bad organization) Widowmaker was brainwashed which caused her heart to beat so slow to the point to where her skin is purpleish/blue. When she got brainwashed she killed her husband hence why her name is “Widowmaker”. What Widowmaker said at the end is French it stands for, “bye darling”. That’s all I pretty much know I love ur vids btw!!

Guys so Overwatch actually got disbanded because one of their divisions, Blackwatch (led by Gabriel Reyes AKA Reaper) were doing some nasty secret ops, so the UN shut them down. Now Reaper works in a terrorist group.
Black Widow used to be the wife of an Overwatch agent but then she was kidnapped and brainwashed to kill her husband, and when she did, she went back to work with the organization that kidnapped her. BTW her skin is blue because she is under-oxygenated so that her heart beats slower and she can get a better shot.
If you want better lore, you are not getting it from the videos, you should read the comics, they're free online!

Not sure if anyone’s said it yet, Tracer rewinding herself in time is actually just a basic ability of hers - albeit one with a very long cool down. In game it’s basically the same as Ekko’s ult, minus the damage to enemies when he goes back in time. Her ultimate was actually the bomb she threw a few moments later! I don’t think it looked very strong in the animation, but in game it used to be able to blow up entire teams. It’s a sticky bomb, so popping it on the right tank can give you some good elims.
Also, Tracer did rewind herself when Widowmaker made the shot near the end. She was looking confused and panicked more out of “I can’t believe I made it in time” than “How did that happen.”

Reaper (Former OW agent, Former Blackwatch Division leader [Watch OW Retribution cut scene] is working for Talon (Main antagonist organization) which is a third party partly responsible for the downfall of OW and other crime in the OW universe.
Tracer probably used recall at the last second, she was checking if her Chronal Accelerator (Her chest device [Tracer was a pilot involved in experimental aircraft accident, trapped in time sorta thing, Winston made the device to anchor her to the present]), she probably had no intention of blocking the shot as she had no idea they were lined up. (Just saw the other comment explaining the shot part but whatever)
There's actually a valid reason that Widowmaker's skin is an icy blue. Talon made her natural heart rate lower, which would greatly reduce the vibrations in her hands and therefore improve her accuracy - after all, even the slightest tremor from the blood vessels could throw off a sniper's aim. This also shut off Widowmaker's emotions almost entirely. Some believe she carries out these kills just so she can feel something - anything - even for only a brief time.
at 7:27 in the video widow maker says "Adieu, chérie", which is French for "Goodbye, love/dear". Basically a play on Tracer's signature "Cheers, love!"
The omnic's (robot's) name was Mondatta. He is an omnic monk, spiritual leader and a peacekeeper. Was, that is. He was also the mentor of Zenyatta, a playable character in the game.
Y'all are probably wondering why Widowmaker is blue. Since it's not revealed in the cinematic and you have to kinda dig for it, it's not necessarily a spoiler.
Widowmaker was previously married to a high ranking Overwatch official. Talon tried repeatedly to kidnap him or take him out, but was never successful. So they kidnapped his wife. Brainwashed her. Gave her drugs and surgery to deaden her emotions and slow her heart rate. (hence the blue color, low heart rate). They allowed her to be 'rescued' by Overwatch, and she later killed her husband in his sleep. She fled back to Talon to resume working with them as their deadliest assasin.

2. Tracer was a pilot for an experimental fighter jet for overwatch that used kinda time travel tech (hard to explain) and something went wrong and that thing on her chest keeps her tethered to this time otherwise she teleports through time and to different places and she can't control it

Extremely late, but nobody is pointing out the fact that Widowmaker lines it up so she was guaranteed to take out at LEAST one of them. If Tracer didn't recall, she would've died, if she did, her target dies. Best case scenario(for her) is it kills Tracer and penetrates through her to ALSO kill her target.

Overwatch’s story begins with the Omnica Corporation, a massive tech company which began manufacturing robots known as Omnics to help aid society and the economy. They built a number of state-of-the-art manufacturing plants, called Omniums, in various locations around the world. One of their most popular models created was the “Bastion” unit, utilized as a “peacekeeper” and renowned for its unique ability to transform between its Recon, Sentry, and Tank modes. However, after multiple facilities ran into manufacturing problems and as the Omnica Corporation being investigated for fraud, the Omniums were forced to shut down. Years later, multiple Omnium facilities mysteriously sprang back to life and began manufacturing Bastion units with the intention of destroying humanity. They amass an army and begin their global assault, starting with Russia. As a means to defend their country from the invading Omnics, Volskaya Industries developed the Svyatogor, a giant human-piloted mech.
As other nations were similarly invaded and attacked by the Omnics, they were forced to respond in kind as well. The United States secretly began the Soldier Enhancement Program, which modified their existing soldiers into elite mercenaries. The two most notable test subjects were Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes, who will eventually become the Overwatch characters known as Soldier: 76 and Reaper, respectively. Germany responded with the Crusaders, an elite force of soldiers known for their heavy suits of armor inspired by knights, and large weaponry such as hammers and maces. Their forces were led by Balderich von Adler and his apprentice, Reinhardt Willhelm. After a catastrophic battle in Eichenwalde, von Adler falls, handing over the reigns to young Reinhardt. Von Adler’s suit of armor can still be seen in the castle’s great hall.
Meanwhile on the Moon, the Horizon Lunar Colony is creating genetically modified animals as a means to test long-term habitation in space. One of these, a young ape named Winston, is born. Eventually, the apes began revolting against their captors, killing all of the scientists in the process. Putting his genius-level intellect to use, Winston creates a rocket to escape the Moon and head to Earth. A hamster named Hammond hitches a ride back, as well. The other lunar apes remained on the moon, because apparently they like it there.
The Rise of Overwatch
As Omnic forces continue dominating the world, the United Nations proposes the Overwatch Strike Team, initially made up of Jack Morrison, Gabriel Reyes, Ana Amari (a deadly sniper from Egypt), Reinhardt Wilhelm, Torbjörn Lindholm (a weapons Engineer from Sweden) and a still-unknown individual named Liao, with Reyes acting as the team’s first Strike Commander. Together, they finally began achieving success, pushing back Omnic forces for the first time thanks to their internationally united effort. After a few years, the Omnic Crisis is declared over.
With no impending danger, Overwatch becomes a peace-focused organization, with Jack Morrison taking over in place of Reyes, who has taken up new responsibilities. They recruit Lena “Tracer” Oxton and Dr. Angela “Mercy” Ziegler to the cause, as well.
Gabriel Reyes joins a newly formed covert organization operating under the Overwatch banner called Blackwatch with other members, including Jesse McCree, Genji Shimada, and Moira O’Deorain. They are deployed to fight against Talon, a new-risen terrorist threat that appears interested in starting another Omnic Crisis.
Reyes, along with the other members of Blackwatch, head to Italy in a covert operation to kidnap one of Talon’s leaders, Antonio Bartalotti. Reyes, against his better judgment, ends up killing Bartalotti, ultimately exposing Blackwatch to the world.
Meanwhile, another terrorist organization known as Null Sector emerges in London, comprised of Omnics rebelling against society after facing persecution following the Omnic Crisis. They launch a surprise attack on King’s Row, taking hostages and killing hundreds of people in the process. Against the orders of the British Prime Minister, Morrison deploys Overwatch agents Tracer, Reinhardt, Torbjörn, and Mercy to stop the Null Sector forces, where they are ultimately successful.
The Fall of Overwatch
Once the public became aware of Blackwatch’s extra-legal activities, an investigation is ordered by the United Nations. Morrison and Reyes find themselves at odds with one another, and their argument ends in an explosion at one of Overwatch’s headquarters where both men are presumed dead. Overwatch is disbanded, many of its former members return home, and any further action by Overwatch is considered an illegal act.
In the weeks after, several former Overwatch facilities are broken into by a mysterious individual who steals various weapons and equipment, including a prototype pulse rifle. The thief becomes a vigilante, taking down many of Overwatch’s former enemies single-handedly, and ultimately reveals himself to be Jack Morrison - who is somehow still alive - now operating under the name Soldier: 76.
Reyes, meanwhile, also survived the explosion and, with the help of the genetic engineer Moira, is brought back from the brink of death. However, the procedure leaves him, quite literally, a shadow of his former self - able to temporarily render himself incorporeal. Really leaning into his new goth vibe, he joins the evil Talon organization in hopes to take down the former members of Overwatch and begins operating under the name Reaper.
Present Day
A second Omnic Crisis breaks out in Russia, and begins spreading across the world, which begins to fall into chaos. Reaper breaks into Overwatch’s Watchpoint facility in Gibraltar and attacks Winston while trying to obtain the list of all former Overwatch members, whom he plans to seek vengeance on because… he’s … jealous? We aren’t 100% sure, honestly - Reaper’s past is probably the biggest grey area in the OW canon.
With events coming to a head, Winston issues an emergency recall to Overwatch’s agents. Tracer immediately responds to his call, followed afterwards by Mercy, Genji, Torbjörn, Reinhardt, and McCree.
Talon agents, led by Reaper and master sniper Amélie Lacroix (AKA Widowmaker) break into a museum attempting to steal a gauntlet belonging to one of their leaders, Akande Ogundimu - better known as Doomfist. Tracer and Winston foil the heist, but the footage is broadcast to the world, proving not only that heroes are back, but necessary during these troubling times.
That brings us to present day, where Overwatch and Talon are at war with one another, while the ongoing Omnic Crisis takes place around the world. The first cinematic for Overwatch 2 reveals Winston and the gang taking down a giant Omnic in Paris, and confirming in the end that Overwatch is back.

Also, as others have said, the PETRAS Act is basically like a law passed by the UN to make Overwatch "illegal" because of the bad stuff that happened with them before.
But now, because they're "gone", crime is back, and Talon (the bad guys' organisation) is doing a bunch of bad stuff.
Widowmaker (blue girl) and Reaper (smoke dude) are kinda like Generals of Talon. They go around doing bad stuff, and Overwatch people try to stop them discreetly (since they would be seen as criminals if they were caught)
I'm looking forward to your reactions to the other animated shorts, especially "Dragons" and "Rise and Shine". (The latter breaks me every time I watch it, even after multiple views)

Tracer dodged the bullet with one of her abilities, the only reason she looked confused was because she wasn't sure if she dodged in time (I mean she activated her powers when a bullet going at around 1 km per second was inches away from her). It's also an indication that the thing on her torso is very important beyond even her powers.

The youtube channel TGN has a really good complete history and lore video for overwatch, it's about 20-30 minutes. Highly recommend it, it explains everything that happened all the way up to the beginning of Overwatch 2. I guess after you finish watching all the cinematic trailers, watch that to complete your understanding of the overwatch lore.

SPOILER WARNING!!!! So the story behind this one is that tracer is trying to view the rally that is being held. She noticed that there was some disturbance and went to check it out and encountered "widowmaker" the purple woman. Then the resf is self explanatory. The story behind widowmaker is that she used to be the wife of a mayor and was kidnapped by a group named talon who is the main villan group in the story. She is then brainwashed and forced to kill her husband. She then becomes a main member of talon. And the reason why she is purple is because talon lowered her heart rate which made her colder and to make her better at aiming and to cause her go lose emotions

actually, the reversing time thing is actually just a regular ability! in the game it’s called ‘recall’ and it basically, like you saw, resets back a few seconds to whatever health you had those seconds before and the location.
