I just recently jumped back in to the hobby and ended up getting a Losi. I almost went with Team Associated, which I now regret not doing. The parts are cheap to replace because they are just molded plastic that breaks after a single impact. The Chinese copies even have better parts out of the box, and I'm seeing "made in China" more often than not on my RC, anyway. (sigh) I hate expensive lessons.
I’m the same way with getting back into the hobby been doing it off and on over 30 years. This time around though I’m buying used stuff cause it’s alot out there for sale cheap I’m not putting 800 in a rc and less than a year later after barely using it and selling it for 250. I like researching everything before buying and no matter the brand I would say most if not all the parts are made in china.
Great video. I’m going to look for part two right now. I’m leaning toward purchasing the Losi. I’d really enjoy modifying that RC. A huge plus in my opinion is the aluminum chassis to start with. I know weight is very important in drag racing. I’m not too worried about that.

So many people commenting on the bodies and the tires for Lux as part of the decision for choosing the car. The body and wheels and tires can be upgraded with ease to make it as sexy as you want. The key is which one is best set up for tuning and racing that means which one has the best chassis. That’s the one you pick.
Don't forget, the dr10 is roughly 1.7 lbs lighter than the slash, and is lighter than the Losi. Slash selling point is it goes straight out of box, but the dr10 has more room to balance with the weight difference.
I'm totally with you. It's kinda like they said ,well it don't have to look that much like the real thing. It really ends up being the big wow when you see how much it looks like a camero. Or a c 10 Chevrolet .I love traxxess but that losi I'd bad ass.
My dr10 just yarded that Losi and the slash yesterday, and both were on 3s vs my 2s. My slash and breakout will also do that. Don't sleep on the dr10. Know that the Losi is running a 6500kv motor, and the reedy 3300 doesn't hold up to the velineon 3500. Dr10 is just as good, and can be much faster, especially considering how much you have to play with after initial investment

Dr10 is no joke. I'm sub 3 sec with no ESC or motor tuning. Get the rtr for 170, then drop a couple on a mamba monster and a tp4600, and say bye bye to both the other two, for basically the same cost.
I have a custom drag build im working on and im using the leading RTR drag cars as my competition so information like this is very helpful to me. When the build is complete ill debut my hobby channel here on RUclips with a race against an Arma Felony 6s!
Rtr is ok for beginners! Build your own and get your money's worth..buy the time your done with upgrades you will be at or about the same price! Depending on upgrades you choose

Actually mine also had some scratches on the top of the body you just can't really see it in the video. It's not to bad but I noticed it. If yours is really bad contact horizon. Maybe they'll send you a new body for the rc. They've replaced allot of stuff for me before. Thanks for watching btw.
Mine wasn’t scratched up but, it does have a ripple going across the passenger side door and there is a big ripple on both sides right under the panel behind the side rear windows. Looks like when it came out the mold it wasn’t sitting flush with the one under it when the next body was stacked on top of it. You really couldn’t see it, until I removed the big Summit stickers from both sides and the top. I would like to put some white SS stripes on it.
@@meademorgan6614 yeas yes i see i bought the last two spare bodies horizon hobby d to offer and the blue one was not even cut evenly and didnt fit properly i had to trim it a whole lot made me feel like my chassis was bent and then i put the red one on to check and it fit perfectly but the paint was off and the wing was bent to one side but imo the 67 camaro body is the most scale realistic body they offer even the drag slash looks a bit weird to be scale like how wide it is

Well the name speak fir itself . now the proline drag slash in. Game of its own .
The losi is the fastest right out of the box with no gearing change at all. Then the traxxas. The traxxas does come with a speed pinion you can swap out. If you install it then they are pretty close in speed.

But if that's not in play I'm still going with the losi for some reason. I already drove the associated so I know it's not the fastest rc right out the box..lol, but I could be wrong on that also since it only has to get down the line the quickest and not have the fastest top speed.

Associated is brushless and will run on 3s also. But the fellas here run races on 2s so I'll be doing the race video on 2s. I did like the black when I opened the box and seen it. Wish they would've added a little more detail in the truck bed other than just that sticker. But everything else on the slash I liked, especially the big tires.
Need help please. I am just starting in the 2s No Prep scene. I purchased a traxxas drag slash recently but am trying to upgrade it. On 3s, the motor is amazing, 2s, it seems really slow compared to what I've seen. I bought a Spektrum Firma 100A Brushless Smart ESC / 6500Kv Sensorless Motor Combo: No-Prep, SPMXSEMC13 to replace the stock motor but I think I made a mistake and might return it. what is the best affordable motor (not more than $200) you would recommend?
Did you install the speed pinion ? It shouldn't be too slow on 2s. But if you want a different motor to try I would look into maybe the reedy motor since they have a bunch of different choices when it comes to kV/ turn. Not sure about getting a motor/esc combo for under 200 though. Probably just the motor.

@@thischildishlifestyle My Hobby Town guy ( Buzz ) hooked me up with a 3s battery when I git the Losi 22s, because I asked for something that would give me the most run time and the biggest hit. When my Drag Slash came, I decided to get the 2s battery just incase I found somewhere to race with other R/C racers. Let me just say that with the 2s battery, the Drag Slash is no competition for the 3s Losi 22s. The difference between the 2s and 3s power is night and day. I'm gloing to get a 2s battery for the Losi, and use the 3s battery in my Slash VXL for bashing. Overall, yes I like the Drag slash, the Losi seems to be built a bit better because of the aluminum chasis. But the suspension and the new transmission on the Drag Slash seem to be better than the 22s. But I really like both of them. One thing, the spur gear on my Losi didn't hold up very well. After only a week of ownership, the spur gear stripped smooth. No teeth at all were left on it. And surprise, surprize. You can't get one anywhere. They are back ordered from anywhere on the web that sells them. I Did finally find one after two weeks of searching, but it is from England and the gear was $16.00 and shipping for it was $12.00. So for a $4.00 part I paid $28.00 and it won't get here until 08/30. I did order 2 from Horizon Hobby, but like I said they are on back order, with an end of August restocking date. So no telling when I'll be getting those spur gears.Sucks that the Losi 22s has been just sitting there for over a month, with at least another one to go before parts are avalable. Then I have to wait and see who's orders come first. Customers or hobby shops.
Definitely for the price I would go with losi. But that's my opinion. I think for 200 dollars your getting a better deal. But dr10 is a great rc also and you can always build it up to be an awesome drag car and they have a ton of upgrades for it.

Yeah I've seen a few different things that need to be worked out before it runs straight off the line. Working on it then I'll be doing a rematch vid with the losi and traxxas. The associated is getting a completely different setup also.
Same here..I don't like that they didn't make it look a little more scale in the actual truck bed altogether. But the rest of the truck is nice. I have that scx24 also, I love them. Gonna have a giveaway for one soon. It'll be a surprise giveaway for people in the stream only. Thanks for watching 😊

Finally got my Drag Slash on Friday the 6th. The suspension is totally a different beast than the Losi.

On the issue of weight you would be wrong according to the manufacturers the losi is lighter by nearly 1lb
