I got my husband into RC racing after having wa baby and covid still creeping on us. I wanted him to get out the house and have a fun hobby. His brother in law has a team here in NJ so hubby joined . I went to a few of the races and now I’m hooked and I wanna race too.I would be the first female on the team and in south Jersey but I don’t know all that much about cars or RC cars yet so I’m trying to learn as much as possible that way I don’t look clueless lol plus I wanna have fun and win money!
I'm just getting back into this. This is definitely good for getting away from the misandry in the world right now staying mechanically inclined and ready to build a winner.🏁
A little tip, if you use skate bearing or whatever on your wheelie bar you can clean the bearing and slowly add tool dip to the outer race to create a nice little tire. I do it all on my lathe but it can all be done with a drill and some sandpaper. Mice soft rubber that can be sized and replaced at will. They have a bunch of colors if black isnt cool enough. Ha. Anyway, easy way to do a rubberized bearing for cheap.
Wow that’s a great idea but I already bought the Traxxas replacement wheels I have to keep that in my mind on the future. Thank you for watching and thank you for the tips
Man I love the no prep and have the same gearing(76/31) in my C7 promod and fast as you want and like you said just watch your heat!Gets hard to handle on the top end but fun to drive and launch is incredible.
If your running a 3.5t motor you will be better off and and have alot more tuning ability if you run a 90t spur and a much smaller pinion and then use the motor timing to get some more speed back in it
Nice video thank you! You may want to considering going 32 pitch spur and pinion, more durable, easier to set mesh, and cheaper overall. Leave the cover off, not needed with 32P gearing on slashes. We run that way in the sand, not an issue on the street.
I’m going to try to run 80 rear and 40 front in shocks. I also put front shocks on rear. I can’t wait to do some test hits. Waiting on diff locker and rear extended shock tower
Can you show us how to wire up everything such as esc motor servos and all of the electronics I’m just now starting to build rc cars even though I drive them a lot. And if you decide not to make a video about that do you recommend any videos on how to wire everything and build it. I’m looking for a very in depth video
I bought a fully built bad ass drag car.. havnt used it yet and think I'll sell it. Has nick bell r1 system. After watching a bunch of videos it looks complicated. Set ramp on the m17 all the programming. Only couple passes in full battery. Plus tire prep. Seems takes alot of time. Not just picking up a remote and having fun.
Us there a pan car division or only gearbox and required suspension components? My pan car flies with brushless 2cell lipo and belted slicks used for pan car road racing.
I would recommend watching src RUclips channel. They say run a body your not attached to. Test then run good body but the shocks have to be compressed and let rebound back to ride height.
Man im kinda the same way you know i took my traxxas rustler and converted into a drag car but of course i got wayyy to much power but hey i know how to drive and i love me a rush but yeah and for bashing i got a armma outcast 6s and that is my have fun/full send build
I'm with you friend I never understood bashing. When I was a kid back in the 80s it took us wayy to long painting tamiya bodies for us to tear em up. Love that blue nova body !!
Wow I bought a wheelie bar from the same guy on ebay. But it broke in a crash so I need to get another one from him. He is looking at making aluminum ones with sliding door wheels. Great video i SUBSCRIBED. My channel is new I uploaded a Losi video but my heaqd was cut off most of the time. I'm still learning, I do photography for SHELDONS HOBBYS. Rock on dude.
nice vid buddy. thinking of getting into no prep drag myself. I have a couple cars and trucks but think its time to build a low cg slash. thanks for the advice
Fyi on diff lockers. The Hot Racing diff locker for the TLR losi 22s drag car does NOT fit properly. It's too short. You'll end up spinning one end out. I did, twice. That's when it hit me. I took the two lockers with one good end and one bad end on each one and cut approximately 1/3 of the bad end off of each one, then milled (sanded rapidly...lol) them down a little at a time until they both fit perfectly, cut end to cut end and put them both in diff. Originally I got 2-3 passes out of each one before they stripped. I've had these both in for a couple of months now with zero issues. Just good info to have I guess. Maybe you can pass it on.
I haven't tried to build a RC Drag car but I looked at some rules and watched your video. Are you using a Cap Pack? I would think ripple would be a huge problem in drag racing. Not just to make you go faster but to provide constant voltage.
Where can I find NPRC rules & specs re chassis & suspension design, components & fab? Are there limitations on the motors & power supply? Can RPM & torque be adjusted independently? Are there any motor builders that will build a motor to custom specs? I'm thinking about the mechanical theory employed in the fastest & quickest standing start race cars on the planet. It appears that earning potential justifies a substantial R&D investment and I'm bored and I've always felt that winning requires innovation not imitation.
How much were those tiny traxxas sticker kits? Also where did you get them from? I've never seen them before and do you possibly have the traxxas part # for the kit?
hey yeah I hate the limited slip. I like the glue idea. So um...what am I glue? lol. I want to try that. I heard that fix makes the car take off real quick.
Cool to know, this is D.&T. TOXIC RC, I'VE BEEN DOING RCS SINCE I WAS 9, WAS DOING COMPETITION RACING BUT OUT OF ALL OF IT M, IT TOOK AWAY FROM MY FUN, BUT KNOW THAT IM A GRANDFATHER WE ARE THINKING OF DOING DRAG RACING
Nice tips , I got hooked on the drag scene as well I joined a Facebook group that have list races here locally , I have some videos uploaded on my channel
Used to drag race a fox body before everyone started going turbos or nitros. Still love racing so might get into this after I'm done with a camaro project car. Anyone in the 601 area code doing this kind of racing hit me up
Very cool, I may look into these. Was into crawlers and short course a while back, sold all my toys. Looking to get back into crawling and then started noticing these drag racing ones, seems pretty simple too and its more about technique and tweaking than 'buying the best parts'. my only critique is i had the laptop sound and the youtube volume all the way up, could still barely hear ya! ^_^
If you run a locked rear end your tires must be the exact same size, just like in the real world. Most guys have to shave or cut tires to keep them within a couple thousandths of one another. By this point you will most likely be running foam tires
Nova body. I finally can afford to have a use for 78 corvette yellow with royal candy blue stripe. Bossman had only one fault on the GMC Bison(is that GMC's Tandem like the Brigadere) dumptruck. Danged red stripe??? Naaaaa man. Ok. I'll drive it. (LoL)
I also like the details on my cars, And thank you for your tips and tricks, I appreciate that bro, a long vide but very interesting, cool channel sticker that you have there on your car too thank you for the share us, I love what I saw and you sure have my like#47
Only lower them with rebound, not spacers inside. u need the travel to keep car from unloading an when ass squats, itll help keep ability to steer by having travel in front end.
Nope, not any more. It’s just clever mixing of Slash and Bandit product lines. I’m starting to collect the parts so I can get a Bandit once they’re available again, put a Slash LCG chassis between the front and rear suspension and go from there.
I’m looking at getting a XL5 Bandit and Slash LCG chassis, already have bearings I can use as well as a VXL System, get the MJ body mounts for the Stampede so you don’t have to try and source the proline mounts AND don’t have the big hold down nobs that look like big, ugly warts in place of body clips. The only thing that might get pricy is the body and rolling stock. With the XL5, you could even run the standard radio since that one doesn’t use the gyro system in it.

Also use wheel weight and put on the chassis behind the front bumper to help keep on ground.

No I haven’t. 🤔 I wonder how that would work? I know a lot of top drivers from the 707 they run foams. And the 336 on Facebook.
