Kevin I really appreciate you and your eBay store training. I am struggling a little lately after losing my job and my car breaking down. So I am saving up for your eBay course and startup funds.
@@GaisaSanktejoI’ve always beefed up my rc car body’s to handle the abuse with putting shoo goo and screen too reinforce and even some custom sheet metal body’s before
@Allah_is1 True enough. But if you're on friendly terms with builders, you might find and get some scrap sheet metal that is perfect for the job for free 😉
We do actual r/c demo derby in the U.S., but the cars have thin aluminum bodies to show dents and bends. They were originally custom-made by individual drivers, but the sport's growing popularity led to the creation of standard body kits (sedan and station wagon are the only ones I've seen).
Some thin metal chassis pans would be cool too. Add a little to the realistic damage. Or cut the plastic chassis apart fore and aft of the bulkheads and screw them back together with a metal strip that can be replaced.
I've been trying to get into rc demo derby but I haven't seen those before my wood shop teacher and the rest of us are trying to put something like that together we would like metal bodies but I haven't found anything except trying to shape them ourselves
That looked like a lot of fun.Your car held up well. I am surprised the body didn't have more damage. I wish one of the two UK makers of these cars distributed in the U.S . I think it would be very popular.
We do this at our local hobby store. We use 2wd slashes with metal bodies made from thin aluminum roof flashing body panels and steel "underframes" which can be easily hammered back into basically where it was. It's so much fun!
Wish more clubs did this, especially here in Australia. Seems like an absolute blast and it’s (relatively) dirt cheap to get into. Hoping more RUclipsrs cover rc banger racing
I had a mechanical ESC on my Blackfoot way back in the day, you learned real quick not to touch that resister lol Making/using that metal body was a great idea!
Never stayed in the hobby long enough! Ironically my first 'real' RC car had a rudimentary ESC. A Nikko Turbo Panther! The Nikko Hurricane which replaced it was a bit quicker but the Tamiya Dakar 959 was utterly brutal in speed and acceleration! I miss that 959 so much!
Had one for years on my old Traxxas bandit as a kid.... I used the heck out of that car. When I finally got an electronic esc years later I was surprised that it made the car go faster! And having fully variable power instead of low/med/high was so exciting!
My Tamiya 959 had a mechanical controller... I think that was 1990. I miss that car. They sell for a fortune now despite the fairly weak front and rear diffs!
Keven you should get a new one and do your signature BIGGER MOTOR!!!, MORE BATTERIES!!!, and upgrades then BASH, BASH, BASH!!!! Then put a medal body on and crash it at the end.
The town I live in is in the middle of nowhere and until a popular book and movie came out about vampires our town was not really on any maps, but we did have a demo derby arena that still gets used today.
Be bold and start it yourself! I believe you can do it and be successful with a small bit of work. Just build a car or two, find a place to play and a friend or more and have fun like a pro! People will start showing up, especially if they can see the exhibit. Many people have not seen "Hobby Grade" land, air or water rc.
@@LowetheTechGuy it’s funny you say that… I was hit on my motorcycle and the short story is I lost the use of my legs. Anyway, I am about to buy some property and my plan was to put a couple of tracks on said property. A drag strip and a crazy bashing area… that’s the plan as soon as I get my lawsuit
I do this on a weekly basis, they do do races with all metal body’s and it’s savage they fold up like real cars with real cages in them! My cover photo is one of my best wrecks lol! There’s clubs all over the country! Such a fun light hearted hobby!
Hey Kev, you should try rc cars from the french brand named T2M, their cars are small ( 1/8 most og the time ) but really fun and strong for thier price
🚗Win one of my cars raffall.com/kevin_talbot
yo Kev definitely need to mount front aluminium rammer under the bumper
Tried so many times??
And I never got my tools back off you, lol..
Anyway, no problems, mate.

They all need to be metal bodies, that black one looks brilliant all smashed up. Great video
somewhat ironic that an rc car designed to be demolished lasts longer than just about every normal rc car
I saw something similar where ALL the rc car shells were made of thin sheet metal; the destruction derby part was spectacular!
It's because theyre made to demolish other cars

Agreed man
Agreed, It would be cool if every car was metal!

I remember one near me that closed back in the 90s but have no idea if any more around since then.
I, as an Australian, agree
Why not import a few from kamtec and get a club started ? You'd get loads of interest thanks to Internet land
there is a youtube channel called BMBSCCbangerclub.
As an Aussie I agree.
That's how rc cars should be cheap and fun great way to use them 👍
Looks hilarious! 😂
That looked like serious fun.
...boom, right.. haha, love your enthusiasm (dry humour) Kev.
Lad built a cool body from metal hopefully he repairs it to see in future races

aluminum foil like pans are made from...
or pop cans

I had no idea there was such a thing. Looks like chaotic fun! You can keep the title of "most violent" until it comes to firearms though 😉
We use Arrma Big Rocks in a parking lot, they hold together very well!

I think i prefer the metal body as it actually looks real. They should all be metal.
Maybe even a thin tubule or wire frame chassis too... Easy to make and would be so realistic!
