This game changed everything
Well I would say Body Harvest changed everything... but nobody knows about it...
I randomly picked up this game because i fell in love with racing games.. .I looked on the back and saw cars on it.. and said, hmm another racing game cool... Best decision of my life. Then later I find out that the people of body harvest made GTA III.
BTW me picking up Body harvest was a random chance as well.. had my father not said yes to me at that toys r us checkout place when I was 9.. i would have never known

This game reaches it's 20th anniversary today. Without it, we wouldn't have seen classics like vice city, san andreas, GTA IV and GTA V.
Most open world and sandbox games wouldn't exist today if it weren't for GTA 3.

There was never such an open world game before and there was never such a violent and controversial game before. When my brother brought this home I was in absolute shock watching him kill people and picking up hookers... I was wondering how could they possibly get away with that in a video game.

GTA III can never be replaced by any upcoming GTA. Even Rockstar make new GTA with great graphics many features and fun things to do. Nothing can compare to GTA III, the soundtrack, the story, the feels of the city.

One of the most ambitious games of my Childhood.
Nowadays we sorta take open world games for granted, but i never even knew a game of this scope could even happen until i played GTA3. A true landmark title.

I kept playing 3 every once in a while even though I had Vice City on my shelf as well. Didn't help that the disc for the latter was scratched and borderline became unplayable, but 3 still scratches that itch perfect.

The mixture of such a nice jazzy/atmospheric intro with the revolutionary open-world colossus that came aftewards, was such a powerful combination! It definitely helped set the tone for everything. It's written all over inside my brain (and heart) forever.

I love how the piano starts way before the "Rockstar Games Presents" text and how the logo is timed at 0:27 classy as fuck.
I cant even comprehend rockstars art level. I love this companies work ethic, at least never failed me.

I remember coming home from Brother, and suddenly I saw this CD on the counter...Just could not believe it.
All the way home I'm licking lips and examine this CD cover.
It was rainy weather, already dark...warm temperature.
When I returned home, I spent the rest of the evening for this toy. Then I saw this intro.
It was gorgeous.
Everytime I got a new Gta Game, I would just take the time, sit down and watch the intro. Cause It's worth it, and it's great...
I think it's sad that most kids these days have no idea what GTA 3 is. I'm 16 (12 when I got this game) and I love it more than GTA V! The first 3 3D GTA games (GTA 3, VC and SA) just have something about them that today's games don't have! I think I might be one of the very few people who still own a PS2 and this game (I've had 2 copies of GTA 3 on the PS2)

This intro generated so much anticipation for the game when i first started it on my PS2 back in 2001, and man did it deliver! Still one of my favourite intros of the GTA series. The GTA IV one is also outstanding!

People seem to overlook this game when talking about gta because of the graphics and not many features compared to newer games, but this game pioneered the whole 3d sandbox style of gaming and launched rockstar games’s success, which helped in creating all the newer games because of that success
Damn i cried. I bought a ps2 today, along this game, and soul calibur 3. I even found my copy of pes 2004 XD so old, but so good. I teared up with pes 2004 and soul calibur 3 intro, but this... Made me cry. I couldnt handle this majesty and nostalgic intro. PS2 FOREVER.
