I just have a Lite and have been tempted to pick up an OLED so I can play on my TV, but am going to wait to see if the Switch 2 is backward compatible. If the new system plays original Switch games I will get that over getting a Switch OLED.
I just got a Switch OLED for Christmas and I’m excited to get some more games to it. I don’t want to live my life by rumors and if and when the Switch 2 comes out, that will be amazing. But as of now, I got some Mario,Zelda, Kirby, and other games to get… not to mention games I enjoy like Sonic Mania (which I already have for Switch) that I can now take on the go.
I also just got a Switch OLED for Christmas, handing down my original Switch to one of my Kids for Christmas. The Switch is so good, I've so many games still to play and finish that there's plenty of years left in it for me, and the slightly larger OLED screen looks fantastic. I also have an Xbox Series X but play the Switch way more, proving that for me the power of the device isn't my top concern. Don't get me wrong, the Xbox looks great, but the games are so stupidly huge I can only have a few installed at a time and they take forever to download and update. By comparison I've got a pretty decent Switch collection of games that I can easily jump between depending on my mood, updates are quick, and I can 'Switch' to mobile mode when someone else is using the TV.
I purchased my OLED on Black Friday fully understanding that it is likely on its last legs. I didn’t own a switch, and wanted to play the games. I basically bought a bunch of games during the Black Friday, holiday and Boxing Day sales. Basically, whatever happens, I’ll be playing the crap out of it. Just finished Zelda TOTK with all 152 shrines done. Now, I’m getting mercilessly murdered in Metroid Dread.
Still regardless of what happens you’ll always have your games to play, especially if you like offline stuff, like I still sometimes play my DS, because of the good games !! But for switch it has like Ark, Cuphead and everything !! And will forever !

My wife and I shared the redbox LCD Switch for the past 2 years, its been a very great experience since both of us are mainly PC gamers. I got myself my own Switch Lite in early 2023 and I play on it almost every day. Having games like Dark Souls, Witcher 3, Doom, Quake and Zelda on the go has been amazing. Yes a Steamdeck or Asus ROG Ally are better but not as portable and no where near as cheap.
I would say it's definitely worth it, in case if the next switch comes out, No worries Maybe it could Have some connections with the original switch models Just like how the DS and the 3DS handle that with the original DS multiplayer backwards compatibility when you can connect them together. One of my favorite parts I love about the switch is playing together You can play multiplayer anywhere locally with Wi-Fi or not with people near you or far away. So short answer: It's worth it!
Short answer: It's complicated. On one hand, there are a lot of great console exclusive titles to be played but on the other hand, the hardware limitations will be the biggest factor in long-term. Sincerely hope that Switch 2 can bump up the specs especially for RAM & internal storage to 8GB DDR5 RAM & 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage (not the outdated, slow eMMC storage).
@Garrus-ub7mf Series S/X, PS5 & even Steam Deck's CPUs are x86-based, 8GB RAM for x86 won't be enough. Switch 2 is based on ARM architecture. Its GPU will be based on RTX 3000 series, but with a few features from RTX 4000 series. Also Switch 2 is aiming for performance closer to PS4 Pro.
People had the exact same complaints about the WII and hoped that the WIIU would "be a huge upgrade in the way the games looked!" Then the WIIU flopped and now the Swtich 2 will be the "software upgrade weve all been waiting for" when that's never been nintendos mo
Yes, it’s worth it. If you’re considering a console at this point, it’s because it’s not crucial to you to have a new console on Day 1. You have access to a large library or games without having to wait years for releases. You can purchase a more optimized version of the console, as first or second models have yet to discover what will be the system’s pain points. And lastly, as previously mentioned, you won’t have to wait years for releases on a new console.
While you don't need a console day one, saving 300$ (5+ different games or an entire console's life of online) is pretty huge. Especially since it is likely a lot of single player experiences are going to be obtainable for the new device meaning the only real benefit the Switch has is multiplayer games that are likely to have new releases on the new system sooner then later.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 that’s true, but if you’re waiting years for those release, you might as well get the switch, where they are available immediately.
I just bought the Switch OLED in Italy on Amazon for 295 Euros. The low price convinced me to go for it. I wanted to play some Mario games again since they’re easy to pick up and play compared to other games. I’m not sure it was a good purchase but I like being able to take it places and play some fun lighthearted games with my girlfriend. I’m sure it will get even better when I hook it up to the tv as I haven’t done that yet.
I recommend the Lite. I have my limited edition pokemon Lite a few years ago, and it is convenient for me. It's great for people who are traveling or don't like to carry much, it's small and compact, cheaper, albiet the battery drains fast depending ok the game. If anyone has the Lite and want to upgrade, just wait until the Switch 2 comes out
@@ExtraordinaryJambecause if your controller starts drifting (a very common problem with the Switch controllers), you can’t just get a new controller. You’ll either have to repair the stick drift somehow or get an entire new console. Plus you can’t connect it to a TV.
Hard to say. 7 years for a console (or any tech device) is a long time, so you would think a new system would be around the corner, but Nintendo has been so tight lipped about it. After seeing both Apple and Qualcomm make huge advancements with ARM/Silicon architecture at a blistering pace, I'm convinced Nintendo is working on some proprietary hardware with an optimal performance/price balance in mind. Hopefully they've learned some lessons from the SteamDeck.
Got my switch lite mid 2023 (bought it used), it was a great buy in my opinion, nothing beats its size. But buying a new switch right now may be a bad idea. Everything is just my opinion of course, this comes from a PC gamer and a hardware modder (yea I modded my switch lite). Edit: A modded switch can be overclocked so that many 30FPS games get to 60, or some ~20FPS get to a stable 30, however this is at your own risk.
I wanted to buy the switch for christmas 2019 but I didn't have the money at the time, and by the time I did, the pandemic started and there was a shortage. I went to buy the switch oled sometime after its release but they never had them in stock and at that point I wasn't gonna buy the older model. Now its 2024 and I still don't own a Nintendo Switch. I'm convinced nintendo is waiting for me to finally buy a switch to announce its next console.
When I got the 2017 model of the Nintendo switch it was awesome for 5 years owning it I enjoyed gaming on it a lot. But now I’ve upgraded to the OLED Nintendo Switch I enjoy the graphics more and the battery lasts longer for me especially if I’m playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. But now I’m ready for Nintendo Switch 2 I know it’ll be different but hey it’s worth the wait.
I got mine back in Christmas of 2019, it was a nice run with mine. But I think it's time I switch to a PlayStation for more soulsborme games. I had a fun 4 years, but getting dark souls in 2022 and playing it way too much in 2023 has made me duly obsessed with the series. I got elden ring and am waiting for a ps4.
Im planing to buy new Nintendo (oled) I’m upgrading form switch lite because I got drift stick and some people says to wait for Nintendo 2and now I don’t now what to do
I'm fully expecting the Switch 2 to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary, like what the 3DS was for the DS. So with that in mind I see no reason to avoid the Switch entirely. Still a great console with great games. If a person finds a good deal on it, then it's worth it imo. At retail not so much because deals for it are everywhere, so it makes no sense to pay full price. But like I said I expect the Switch 2 to be for the most part a more powerful Switch, so the Switch will still be a lower-spec and lower-budget option.
I have a Lite and have been really wanting to get an OLED, but at this point in just makes sense to wait until the Switch 2 comes out instead of getting a Switch in 2024. My Lite keeps me playing games, although I would love to play them on a bigger screen. Just not worth buying a OLED now when the Switch 2 will probably be released in a year or year and a half.
It's worth but man... if switch 2, has backwards compat + a bunch of new first party games, great 3rd party support and actually comes out in a few months......people who bought a switch this year are gonna be missing out on a lot. Hard to look at your own plate when another plate looks so much better
I have an older nintendo switch from 2017 for homebrew and one from 2019 for everything else. I was so happy until one day the sd card reader from the older one started malfunctioning so in an attempt to replace it I damaged the fpc connector on the pcb basically the connector that is soldered on the pcb that connects the modular sd card reader so I will throw the older one to the garbage and buy a new one (2017 exploitable) since no one in my area can fix this issue or rather has the experties and is willing to fix it.
I got Switch OLED in 2023, mostly cause of the TOTK hype, I kind of wish I hadn't lol. I barely turn it on, it stays in it's case most of the time. I get all the third party games on my PS5, I play only Nintendo exclusives on the Switch but there aren't too many of them that captivated me that much other than BOTW, TOTK and FE:Three Houses, I loved those games. So from my personal experience it wasn't that worth it for me, maybe it will be worth it more for you. The portability is pretty handy though and the OLED model has a really nice vibrant screen.
It's been said right here. it speaks miles about the switch's power (or lack thereof) that a lof of its games can be emulated on recent enough android phones, not to mention something like my steam deck oled, which aside from all the demanding pc stuff I play on it also pulls double duty as a switch (especially for multiplayer switch games) given that I can pair any controller from a dualsense to a damn wii remote to it and have it work.
Great video! I own both the Lite and OLED. To be honest I’m in not rush for a Switch 2 yet. Like you mentioned, there are soo many great games that I still haven’t played lol. And many are on back log. This is a great console and I plan on giving my 3yr old the lite as his first console 👍🏽
Got an OLED late 2023 and I've clocked in around 1400 hours between 18 games. Undoubtedly my best purchase last year. When a Switch 2 does come out, if its backwards compatible, I'll buy one. Othetwise, much like many other I'm sure, ill stick with the Switch OLED purely cause if the amount of games I've already purchased.
Im curious about the upcoming games, once the nintendo 2 is released will the new games that come out after it be playable on the OLED, or will they be suitable for Nintendo 2 only?
i bought 1 last month. its amazing. i love the art style in BoTW. amazing game. and i love my switch oled. i also own a steam deck. they both are legit asfk.
I’ve had a Nintendo switch since launch, but then bought a new one bc of its state, and that I was tired of sharing it with my sibling. I got that new switch 3 years ago, and it holds up incredibly well. The joy cons that came with it 3 years ago still haven’t drifted. I guess I take good care of it lol
Its just a money issue for me. Hell i have alot then its an obvious yes. Doesnt matter if switch 2 comes out if i can afford anyway. Aside from that, im first party nintendo gamer, so the current specs is fine for me. My other games are not demanding like dead cells etc so doesnt matter at all.
What do u think now? Where the switch 2 is rumored to be release in Q1 of 2025. Im thinking of getting the switch oled, but still comparing it. Is it worth it or just wait another year to potentially buy the switch 2. (Im a new user, and this will be the first time im buying the switch). Really appreciate the opinions🙏🏻
The only problem with the switch, it's the price of the games, if you buy two games, that's already a lot of money, specially if you live in a poor country.
I absolutely love my switch. It’s an amazing console for the living room with a wide variety of couch coop games and a fantastic library of singleplayer titles also . Even if the switch 2 is on the way, I won’t be ditching my switch for many many years if at all

Tbh it's really worth it if you're into jrpgs like Pokemon, monster hunter stories and Megaman battle network (this one isn't exclusive on switch but I'll include it anyway)
I bought my switch lite going on 4 years ago in the spring and yes it can't be displayed on any TV or monitor but being 100% portable and comfortable it's worth the price but I haven't seen Nintendo ever put any switch exclusive games up for free but Sony did it twice since I bought and owned a ps4 slim days of play steel black limited edition console back in 2019 during the days of play events which I purchased horizon zero dawn Complete edition and ratchet and clank(2016) for free however the nso expansion family plan is still 80$ usd and it supports up to 8 nso profiles.
Nintendo has NOT been silent the internets just dumb. Nintendo said 5 years in its halfway done and each start of fiscal year tells investors if new hardwares coming.
At this point if you waited this long you might as well wait until march and if the Switch 2 isn't backwards compatible then grab the Oled and have fun with the deals and backlog gaming. Only switch I don't have is the switch lite but with 3 OLEDs, 1 V.1 and 1 V.2 I'm ready for what Nintendo has next.
I like the thin bezels and colors of the OLED model, which I bought for my birthday. I got the Scarlet and Violet model because I liked the design of the console (especially the back) and I really like the storage capacity vs. the regular Switch and the Switch Lite. Yes, in October, I knew the Switch 2 was coming, but I wanted TV output, so I upgraded from the Lite (I actually sold it after buying the OLED). I’m probably am waiting until my current Switch begins to degrade before buying the Switch 2 (but most likely waiting for it to get OLED and distinct designs.)
I bought the OLED recently and it’s awesome! I used to prefer docked mode on my TV, but with the OLED screen now, I prefer playing portable lying in bed. The colors are gorgeous and they pop out at you.
Fortunately for me, I never played the OLED versions, so LCD only is OK; sad but still tue. My greatest concern is that releases BACKWARD COMPATIBLE. I have EVERY Gameboys and play my Switch first and my PS VITA secondly. I have all the Playstation consoles, but still play my handhelds most often. Who is the preorder the best play to purchase from? I don't have a Game Stop close by.
I bought the Neon one back in March 2018 and last May I made the mistake buying a new Gaming PC and my sister made me sell the Switch but I'm such a fool. I wish I could go back in time and keep my Switch. I was happy and I didn't know, now I have a Gaming PC on my desk and I want to play Nintendo Games. :(
As a switch owner from the first week, I think 1st buy a PC then definitely a switch before any other console, the experience of a light handheld is amazing.
I think the switch is still worth it in 2024, especially if you are new to the console like I am I’ve had my switch OD since October and I have just been discovering new games. Obviously I have a lot of the well-known games like Super Mario Odyssey so the breath of the wild et cetera, but I have been discovering some new games as well, and I’ve really enjoyed using my Nintendo Switch and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had for a long time in gaming. In fact, the switch has restored my faith in gaming. I think in terms of the switch hardware, I think people need to remember that the switch hardware is pretty much a seventh gen console in terms of what’s inside it so a lot of the issues the switch has the 360 and the PS3 would have those same problem, maybe maybe not as not to the extent of the switch due to the switch being a portable, but I do think that if a game is designed for the switch in mind, then it will perform better, but most of these bad ports are from developers who gains were not even designed for the switch hardware in the first place what I mean is that the switch not being the lead platform, but overall I really like the switch and it’s literally become my favourite system of all time and this was a great overall retrospective of the switch.
I dont have one and i want one do i wait until 2 or no i just want to know if the switch 2 is going to be a new console like ps5 then i will wait but if its like a xbox x then i should just buy the normal switch pls if you know tell me do i buy it or no
You're probably better off waiting, it is very likely whatever comes next is going to be better. If the new thing is better and you get it, then if you buy the Switch you'll have wasted around 300$ which is enough money for 5-20 games depending on their price or having online services for the entire new console's lifespan.
Yes it’s worth it because the Switch successor does not release this year. Using power to justify the Switch’s value is bias and ignorant. That same thing is even more true with the PS5 and Series consoles if that is the case as PC makes them obsolete.
It’s worth it but like with any device you have to purchase it logically/smart like getting it for a deal, bundle or take advantage of the modding/emulation scene with the unpatched Nintendo switch models, modded ones or accessories like the mig switch.
My switch oled mostly collects dust. It’s a great console but nintendo just isn’t for enthusiast types. The fact that the original PSP technically offers so much more than the switch is crazy.
I'm curious where the PSP offers more? It doesn't switch (at least not without an analogue video cable), only had 2.2k games vs over 10.5k on the Switch, lacks official online multiplayer, and is a way less powerful device.
@@MrSamoDude Because it’s a no brainer that your phone is technically way more versatile than a switch. PSP had top tier specs for a handheld(at the time)but also offered nearly everything you do on your phone before smartphones were even a thing. I was playing games, watching movies, handling social media accounts, messaging and everything else back in 2007 and on the switch your option is play a game or shut it off. Don’t get me wrong! That isn’t necessarily a bad thing,I know Nintendos focus IS the games but I’m just saying. To spend that much money in this day and age and besides the Nintendo store it doesn’t offer much more than a gameboy is wild.
If we're talking about the V1 model, absolutely no, the battery life is comparable to the new 3DS, not only that there are way better options outside of just the base switch anyways
To be honest with you I'm still enjoying my switch OLED which I got last year I downloaded all the good games on 512 GB card I'm enjoying games like persona 5 resident evil zero Castlevania trilogy and so much more
I have the original model, bought in 2018, and it still works great. I know my left Joy-Con has some drift, but I almost always play in Docked Mode with the Pro Controller. I play New Horizons for a bit every day, of course have the major titles (MK 8 Deluxe, BOTW), some cool little indie games, and all of the Just Dance games. 😆 Also...I assembled and played with all the Nintendo Labo kits. 🤣🤣
I dont game as much as i used to with very little games holding my interest but more often if i am its usually on my switch. Sometimes i go on my ps5 but only few games on it i play. I would love to see more original 3d platformers, shooters, and acton/adventure games. A lot of nice indiea games on it but i do tire the many pixelart to 2d style side scrollers and top down ones always coming out on it. Lately only few games i purchased in the last year that peak my interest both main titles and indie ones. Look forward to new zelda, mario, and metroid game coming out.
If you can get a good deal on it why not, but in my country the lite can be found at 190 bucks brand new and used switches lites go for 120-150 on average, and unless that used console is almost brand new or open box I would spend the extra cash
If you can get it for like 150 or less, sure But I'd rather wait for an OLED upgrade(Likely impossible) because the OLED switch has spoiled me, alongside IPS displays from the N3DS and other emulation devices
Depends on how you look at it. If you want certain games then yea go for it. If you wanna wait and save your money, do that and wait. I still think a switch is worth it cause you can sell it later.
Though I love my switch, if you don't have one now do not buy it when the new model is on the horizon. You'll feel burned when the switch 2 comes out with substantial performance upgrades.
The only thing keeping the switch from being worth it is the inevitable sequel. If you have no plans to spend 400 dollars on a future console, it is by far the best choice to make, the quantity of first party Nintendo games at 8/10 or higher is somewhere in the 40’s. It is simply the best system ever made, unless you count how good the ps2 was back in 2000.
Long answer: Yes, but it's at the very end of its lifespan so if you plan to use it long term don't bother, but if you're getting a great deal and you want to catch up on some of its library go for it.
I would say no. I had a switch oled 2022 and sold it when I really needed extra money. Then last summer I kept telling myself I need to buy another one. I did,and it’s mostly just been like a trophy on my coffee table.
I'd say it is, it may be late in its lifespan but it has fantastic games. If Switch 2 releases this year than that's ok. Like i bought the ps4 in 2019 and ps5 released in 2020
I would consider it if you don’t have one and have never had the experience of owning one. In my case, I’ve had it and eventually sold mine because of inflation and ended up needing the money at the time. After that, I really didn’t find myself wanting a new one besides certain times my wife and I were craving a session of Mario Kart.
My advice would be if you don't have a Switch buy one of the cheaper models or try getting an OLED Switch for less than the retail price on the secondhand market. That way you don't have to miss out on current games but you still save a bit of money and can upgrade sooner rather than later after the new console comes out. If you do have a Switch and you're looking to upgrade, just wait until the new console comes out.
Also my advice if you don't intend to go online(Or don't have nintendo eshop available in your country) is to get one that's already banned by nintendo, those go for fairly cheap (80 for a switch lite and sometimes 90 for a v1/v2) and just get physical cartridges
The Switch 2 is probably on the way, but the current Switch still stands as one of the greatest consoles ever made- with the massive library of games to back it up.

Make sure to play the Bayonetta trilogy
Still regardless of what happens you’ll always have your games to play, especially if you like offline stuff, like I still sometimes play my DS, because of the good games !! But for switch it has like Ark, Cuphead and everything !! And will forever !
You need mario odyssey, amazing game
@@BeerusWhenNoWhis amazing but not nearly as perfect as mario galaxy. Those are my favourite games of all time. Truly incredible. Lucky to have them on my wii

😊
Bought Oled 2 days ago and I think it's worth 100% !

@@krishnaboost5432 If you're getting the white and black version, I think it definitely suits you! 👍🏻
I got it couple of months ago and so happy with it. So many things to do. Plus you can use it anywhere everywhere.
Ok
Got mine in 2022, don’t regret it the slightest bit.
I recommend the Lite. I have my limited edition pokemon Lite a few years ago, and it is convenient for me. It's great for people who are traveling or don't like to carry much, it's small and compact, cheaper, albiet the battery drains fast depending ok the game. If anyone has the Lite and want to upgrade, just wait until the Switch 2 comes out
@@The_TylerDurden_Narratorwhy?
Why bother developing a new one when people are still buying the old one like there's no tomorrow. Nintendo is milking the cow dry.
Absolutelly. Got my sister the OLED model for christmas this year and she's loving it.
My OG switch that I bought when I was 9 back in 2018 is still going strong with 4 battery replacements 💪💪💪
Mine since 2018 is going strong, don't need replacements though. That's good. I love my switch ❤😂
Being 9 in 2018 is crazy
Got my switch lite mid 2023 (bought it used), it was a great buy in my opinion, nothing beats its size. But buying a new switch right now may be a bad idea.
Everything is just my opinion of course, this comes from a PC gamer and a hardware modder (yea I modded my switch lite).
Edit: A modded switch can be overclocked so that many 30FPS games get to 60, or some ~20FPS get to a stable 30, however this is at your own risk.
I had 2 switch on different occasions and unfortunately had to sell both, right now I'm financially stable I'm tempted to buy another one lol
Kids nowdays will never be able to appreciate the progress that video games have gone through. Truly amazing how far we have come with games :D
I got the OLED for Christmas and I’m excited about it!! I’ve been hooked on Zelda TOTK! I can’t stop playing
The switch oiled also has a better chip, not for performance but for battery
I think its oled not oiled
When I got the 2017 model of the Nintendo switch it was awesome for 5 years owning it I enjoyed gaming on it a lot. But now I’ve upgraded to the OLED Nintendo Switch I enjoy the graphics more and the battery lasts longer for me especially if I’m playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. But now I’m ready for Nintendo Switch 2 I know it’ll be different but hey it’s worth the wait.
Bought my switch 1 month ago, no regrets. Skyrim runs as smooth as a baby, and im playing mage with a lot of spells

I'm curious also, I think it should be playable on old switch to certain years.. but third parties new games will only be playable on switch 2.
Can’t lie when Nintendo Switch 2 comes out everyone would buy it.
i bought 1 last month. its amazing. i love the art style in BoTW. amazing game. and i love my switch oled. i also own a steam deck. they both are legit asfk.
I have v1 switch i love it to bad i can't aford lite or oled and the switch 2 not likely😢 i will stick to my v1 till the end
I love my switch oled!! Don’t regret it at all!! Highly recommend it!
Ok so which one can I play on tv? And do I have access to all Nintendo 64 games?
The Switch 2 will not even have an OLED display though
The only problem with the switch, it's the price of the games, if you buy two games, that's already a lot of money, specially if you live in a poor country.
I absolutely love my switch. It’s an amazing console for the living room with a wide variety of couch coop games and a fantastic library of singleplayer titles also . Even if the switch 2 is on the way, I won’t be ditching my switch for many many years if at all
If the Flash Card comes out this year then it is 100% worth picking up in 2024
yea, that the flash cart is already up for pre-order. i hope the flash comes to amazon besides just being stuck to one website
What does the Flash Card actually do?
@@captaincanaveralthe flash cart lets you dump your own games that you own physically into it from what I gather, and you cannot just get the roms that are widely available as it uses a different format to try avoid checks by Nintendo's online services

Ps5
Does homebrew let u install any switch game for free
My only question is can I still play the games on my big screen or am I just stuck with this little phone?
yes its worth it. it has games unlike ps5 xbox and pc.
Answer : If you want fun and have a blast time with you're friends and family then is worth it..
I just bought a switch and im going to say worth it. I bought it knowing that I have alot of games in the switch library that I really want to play. When the next nintendo console comes out I will wait atleast 5 years to get 1. I have many years of new to me games to play now.
Tbh it's really worth it if you're into jrpgs like Pokemon, monster hunter stories and Megaman battle network (this one isn't exclusive on switch but I'll include it anyway)
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is also a good one if you want something that's kinda Pokemon-ish but not Pokemon.
JRPG is where the Switch truly shine
seriously Nintendo is lacking of first party jrpg titles
they should add more Persona-ish IPs to the Switch
Fortunately for me, I never played the OLED versions, so LCD only is OK; sad but still tue. My greatest concern is that releases BACKWARD COMPATIBLE. I have EVERY Gameboys and play my Switch first and my PS VITA secondly. I have all the Playstation consoles, but still play my handhelds most often. Who is the preorder the best play to purchase from? I don't have a Game Stop close by.
Awesome. This must mean our yearly round of these videos is on the way
I bought the Neon one back in March 2018 and last May I made the mistake buying a new Gaming PC and my sister made me sell the Switch but I'm such a fool.
Got mine last year its been great!
Does the pro controller have stick drift?
I bought one in October 2023still love it
I think the switch is still worth it in 2024, especially if you are new to the console like I am I’ve had my switch OD since October and I have just been discovering new games.
Thank you for this review! I am finally going to buy the nintendo switch after 7 years of having a wii U and since hearing about it for the first time
My switch oled mostly collects dust.
@@MrSamoDudehomebrew. Though early model switches also have an unpatchable hardware vulnerability
@FlopFan69 homebrew doesn't matters in this discussion, it's about the base device/games available on it
I miss my psp. I played that thing like crazy. Wowed me more than the DS.

The game’s I have now, for the Nintendo Switch. Can I still play on, the Oled Nintendo Switch?
yes
I got my oled Switch on a deal. I paid $180 for it and so far I’m loving it.
Im buying my first nintendo swith oled today
If the Switch 2 is backwards compatible then no, if not then yes, it has a lot of great games.
It wont be because you idiots bought the flashcart and are part of nintendo’s anticonsumer-ness
Should I get a used switch lite?
If you can get a good deal on it why not, but in my country the lite can be found at 190 bucks brand new and used switches lites go for 120-150 on average, and unless that used console is almost brand new or open box I would spend the extra cash
If you can get it for like 150 or less, sure
But I'd rather wait for an OLED upgrade(Likely impossible) because the OLED switch has spoiled me, alongside IPS displays from the N3DS and other emulation devices
A ds is still worth it in any date graphics don't matter
Depends on how you look at it. If you want certain games then yea go for it. If you wanna wait and save your money, do that and wait. I still think a switch is worth it cause you can sell it later.
Yes, if you never owned a switch and never played switch games. but treat the machine as a retro console instead a current gen.
Wish the vita were nearly as successful as this thing
yea,but sony so messed that up with the crappy memory card that costed so much money
The PS Vita wasn’t a success because of Sony.
Sony killed the Vita. Such a shame it was a pretty good handheld played it tons in conjunction with my 3DS./
Personally I’ve had my switch for 4 years, still use the original joycons and haven’t had any stick drift
Though I love my switch, if you don't have one now do not buy it when the new model is on the horizon. You'll feel burned when the switch 2 comes out with substantial performance upgrades.
Picked up a new switch totk editon for dirt cheap on the fb market . Let's see what this puppy can do.
Basically buy the Oled one...
The price of the games, mostly from Nintendo, are crazy...
Still worth it especially the OLED model.
It just depends on most of the games you would actually play
Quick answer, no.

I mean, i can buy 3 ps4 games with the price of a switch game!
@@PlayerForever-ym3qfYou will be sorely disappointed if you think that you can dump roms from the net and be done
@tydshiin5783 the cheapest i find them is 160-185 euros for v1 nintendo switch used.
