Just got this camera a couple days ago for a wedding I'm shooting tomorrow, this is SO helpful especially because I knew NOTHING about the settings before, thanks so much!!
Nog een: De Multifunctie ring op de RF lens, als we die zetten op 'belichting' - dan kan je dus niet meer handmatig focussen. Dat lijkt me nogal onhandig.
@@coppensbram Thanks for the answer. Wish Canon had a list or description of what actually gets saved to the custom modes. I'm sure there are things that don't get saved.
Sure! The IBIS in the R7 is already very good, so you don’t need additional digital stabilization. Especially if you have a lens with IS connected too! Digital IS will also apply a crop to the footage.
Wouah! Your channel is incredible. Thank you so much. I'm the happy owner of R7 since a few days and have a question about AF. if a a subject is moving in a room (doing some graceful and slow movements like Tai Chi) what would be your recommendation please on the focus options to choose please? I'm really glad I came across your videos, I learn so much...
Thanks for the kind words! 👊 To answer your question: i’d use either whole area AF or single point AF. But both with Servo and subject tracking on. Hope this helps!
@@baguapalm Great minds think alike 😉 I’ve been doing a lot of client work lately so I haven’t posted much here 😂 and currently on vacation… but I’ve got 2 new videos planned (one about the exposure triangle and the other about full frame vs aps-c) 😊
Hi bram, this is an excellent video tutorial, but it's hard to see exactly the functions you show on the camera's screen, I wanted to ask where the shoot without leans function is because I bought an astrhori 12 mm f 2.8 fisheye lens and they told me to look for such a function, please help, do you know
Thanks for the kind words 😊 I’ll try to make it more clear in the next videos! Answering your question to shoot with a manual lens: look for “Release shutter w/o lens” and turn it on. I think it’s in the custom menu.
@@coppensbram Hi bram, thank you very much, this is the function to work with the lens, the question is which of the camera's programs to shoot on so that the effect of the lens is obtained for the stars in daylight, I thank you very much for the help
Thanks for this - Very helpful. However, I am confused. When I go to Tab 8 - IS (Image stabilisation) mode and press enter, I DO NOT get they same options that you get on your screen in the video. You seem to get the option to turn IS Mode on or off but the only one I get is "Digital IS - On/Off' I have Firmware version v1.2.0 on my R7. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the kind words 👊 I'm on firmware v1.1.0... But not sure why they would change it. I will update the firmware today and check it! What lens do you have connected? (maybe that has something to do with it)
OK so I updated to v1.2.0 and still have the option... HOWEVER, only when I use my Sigma 18-35 EF-S lens. I connected the RF 24-70 and the option only shows "Digital IS - On/Off" like you said. I guess when you use a lens with lens stabilisation, you can only control the IBIS on/off with the Stabiliser on/off button on your lens. Makes sense since on Canon cameras, you can't have IBIS and lens stabilisation separate, they have to either both be on, or off. The Sigma does not have lens stabilisation, so you get the option in the menu to turn IBIS on/off. Hope this helps! 😃

Hello! Which flashlights should I buy for Canon EOS K7?
Hi there I don’t really use a flash, but if I would be looking to buy something, I’d probably look at Godox or the new Canon EL-10 :-)
@@coppensbram Thank You!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@Internat_11mektep welcome!
Do the custom mode settings store the shutter mode? I mean whether full mechanical, electronic first curtain or full electronic?
Yup,they do 😃 I usually have mechanical on C1 and C2, and electronic on C3.
@@coppensbram Thanks for the answer. Wish Canon had a list or description of what actually gets saved to the custom modes. I'm sure there are things that don't get saved.
@@musicman8942 yeah that would be super handy!
When scrolling the Image Stabilizer mode, I only see Digital IS in the drill down menu. What do I change to get the other options?
I think it depends on the lens that’s connected. Which one do you use?
Can I ask why you turn the digital image stabilisation off on video?
Sure! The IBIS in the R7 is already very good, so you don’t need additional digital stabilization. Especially if you have a lens with IS connected too! Digital IS will also apply a crop to the footage.
For wedding photographer, photo sessions and short clips , it is a good choice??
Yes, it is :-) But again, I'd also look at the R6 or R6 mark II if you can!
What lenses are you thinking of using?
@@coppensbram i have my old lense for my old camera 5d iii 24/105 and lens 50 1.8 (i know that i need adapter to use it )
Those will work fine for weddings :-) Just keep in mind the crop factor on the R7... Maybe add the 16mm f2.8 for wider shots too!
Excelente video!!
Great video man as always 🤟🏻
Thanks man 👊
Very helpful thank you, even though I have some different settings to you. Also you can't have Zebra and Peaking settings on at the same time. Cheers.
Thanks for the info! 🙂
