Unfortunately Turkey is the most inconsistent team I have ever seen. They have the potential to win against Portugal today, but also lose high against them. The defense and middlefield positioning after losing the ball is terrible.
Tournaments are definitely made enjoyable by the Balkan countries. The others have just gathered colonial Africans in their teams it's all about the system. To hell with your system. National matches are played with spirit; everyone is giving their all for their country. So Turkiye has great potential.

As much as I wish we would, I am almost certain that we won't. Turkey has always disappointed us since World Cup semi finals against brazil. Went downhill from there on. But these new young talents who have not even started with their carreer yet, might bring the needed flame back to our national team, and who knows. I would say a true dark horse in my eyes are Netherlands, Belgium and Croatia.
