If Germany manages to get their engine started and ramped up, then they can beat anyone. A lot now depends on the first game and the spirit. If this goes well, the Germans will hopefully show again that they are a tournament team. But I have a good feeling, the quality on the pitch is really good.
I agree. The main problem in the last tournaments was that Germany lost their first match, a thing that before had happened only once (1982). This put an enormous pressure on the team right from the start. At the same time, every German supporter remembers the big impact on the tournament when the team had a very good start, like in 1990, 2002, 2010 and 2014.
@@ippoipper6391 you haven’t won an EM for almost thirty years and got eliminated from WC group stage twice in a row 😂 crying about historical success is more blind than pathetic. It’s like the French boasting about Napoleon’s victory during WW2😂
Germany has simply been underperforming for years. Hansi Flick was basically just a reskinned Jogi Löw (he used to be his assistant coach), so the 2018 problems persisted until they finally did install a proper new coach.
Germanys problem comes from adapting to "small" nations playing style. Deep blocks and counter attacking as recently seen against Ukraine and Greece. That high line is going to be a problem in the group stage. Against strong opponents like the Netherlands, France or Spain it's totally different. These nations want to play possession and control the game but that's the style where Germany is excellent in.
@@FrontPageFootball yup pretty much. That's why I'm not that confident about our group at all. As a German, it's interesting to watch a video about us and our soccer that provides an insight into our country and our soccer from outside our own mindset and country. Small correction to your video: Pavlovic got sick and Nagelsmann has decided to take Emre Can for Pavlovic. This happened yesterday. Otherwise it was a good video and Germany has a great squad with the Stuttgart and Leverkusen Players, who were outstanding last season
Honestly, it all depends on the game tomorrow. If we score the opener, play nice football, this could kickstart a wave of positivity - we are world champions in bashing our national team / negativity in general and weird press takes. Also, we like to single out players like Kroos, Özil, or Kimmich for example and heavily push destructive narratives, despite them being world class players. Dont forget our ability to hate on coaches as well. On the other hand, during big events, germanys press can exallerate positive things as well and thats what we are also depending on. The team can do one part, but we as fans, journalists and being part of social media also have a massive influence. Let's hope for a little more sun as well, cause the weather is shit at the moment and not fitting for a great football summer.
Actually it was more then a decade of dominance. They were in the top 3 in every major tournament from 2002 until and including 2016. Thats almost 1 and a half decade
Nagelsmanns best decision was to sort out players who were set in the national team over the last decade, like Goretzka and replace them with new talented players who had a great season. Germany is definitely one of the top 3 favorites besides France and England. Kinda sad, that Reus wasnt able to get in form in time. Would have been great to see him in a tournament one last time.
So four games in we are in the quarter finals, Musiala is the best scorer of the tournament, Rüdiger is an absolute beast, Kroos is breaking passing accuracy records as usual, Güdogan has long silenced all critics, just like Neuer, Emre Can was basically on his way to his holidays and now already scored a banger, Havertz is world class at everything but scoring shots that aren't penalties. Füllkrug, Raum, Schlotti, Groß and others are fantastic back-ups. On a side-note: Sané is actual dogshit. And yet I fear the Spanish. God, I hope Mikautadze and Mamardashvili somehow save us.
The less Munich Players play, the better Germany will play. Leverkusen and Stuttgart have been on a high all Season and have played excellent Football. They Lack a Bit of international experience, but they make up for that with their joy of playing. They are really Fired up for the EM.
It is not that Bayern players are bad fpr the team in general though. But it is a fact that the recent poor form of the national team is closely tied to the poor form of Bayern players. Kimmich has been poor in center mid for years. Goretzka was shocking. Sane still hasn't found his form. Gnabry also shocking. Bayern players used to be the central axis for our team for most of our history, but this became our weekness in recent years. Our coaches refused to change modernize our philoshophy and kept nominating players who were clearly out of form. It is the reason why everything under Nagelsman feels so fresh recently. He broke though the old crust and renewed the entire team in one way or another.
I think that the "Mannschaft" has still a way to go before they return to the top performers. The tournament will surely help to forge them together no matter which outcome. If Nagelsmann will be granted the time needed, he will take them to the top in the years to come.
please just call them the german football national team. The rebranding didn‘t catch on in germany and let‘s be honest, what‘s more german than an overly long , unemotionally descriptive name?
Home advantage is overrated, especially when you are talking about Germany. We Germans are spoilt when it comes to winning tournaments. Not just in football but also the Olympics, Winter Olympics and many other tournaments. The expectations are extremely high, and that is the reason why playing at home can become too much pressure. Best example of the so called "home advantage" gone wrong is the semi final of 2014 between Brazil and Germany when the pressure became too much.

Spain would not be a kindergeburtstag or Ponyriding for our Team. But if all comes together, and you mentioned the quality and experience and also the drive of this Team including Kroos who will never be nervous we shouldn't stop until we hold the damn cup .
I don't believe that Germany will win Euro 2024. Although it would be nice ... and it depends on their run ... it is not impossible. It would be great for the young players (e.g. Wirtz, Musiala), and for the old ones too (e.g. Kroos, Müller). But other countries have other players who deserve the title too. The first in my mind is Harry Kane, who has a fantastic career, but lacks of any big title. The best may win in hopefully fair played games.
England will win? That has got to be a joke. Have you seen them? Complete shite in two games. They are already clowned all over the place and people say It's coming home as in the team is coming home.
@@meganoob12 The only joke is your reply. I only mentioned that Kane deserves one big title after all these years, I didn't say England will win. I still do not thing that Germany will win, although they are hyped a bit. My guess is Spain.
Despite it was the first time with a real convincing performance from beginning to the end , calm down the horses. Schottland was to easy two days ago. Let us first see what will happen in the next two games. But having said this, there is a chance that we got in the elimination phase this time and with luck in the quarter final. But I am still skeptical if we talk about the title. There are other nations who are more likely to win the Eurocup.
i agree with your sentiment in germany, but dont pretend germany wasnt a lethal opponent in every tournament before. i mean they went to the final just the wc before. i dont think 2006 played a vital role germany being dominant in foorball
I think germany has the most World Cup Final appearances of all teams. They play always a role in winning a tournament. I think they have the best/strongest team to be honest.
If you say, its not possible to change a teams playing style within one ore two years simply look a bit more south on the map. Because we have a superralf who changed Austrias playing style, its behavour and its self-esteem within this time. Rangnick is our hero, go home Gerpuke, ohh you are already there.
Contrary to general assumption, home advantage is hugely overrated. In the last 44 years since 1980, only one country (!) has been able to turn home advantage into a title at a big tournament. It was the French in 1984 and 1998. On all the other occasions the hosts in most cases did have a better-than-usual tournament (just think of South Korea in 2002), but it wasn‘t enough to be crowned champions. What is correct though, is that years of dominance were sometimes kickstarted by such a national event. But the fruits would be harvested only in later years.
I rated Germany quite low in this tournament but it would be good to see them do well. That first game vs Scotland may have been a bit of a mirage so I wouldn't put too much stock in that.
I don't think so, and don't think such statements do any good to anybody. However, hopefully we see a good tournament, and hopefully a good performance by the host nation's team.
Good enough to reach the semifinals? Yes, I would think so. But after that it all becomes speculation. Portugal, France, England, maybe even Netherlands, Croatia and Italy are all capable of winning against anyone on a good and lucky day. As is Germany. At that stage it's usually the form of the day rather than the combined individual quality.
Let‘s hope Wirtz can carry his great form into the tournament. In the last matches he seemed a bit overplayed to me. Also let‘s hope that Musiala rediscovers his efficiency. In the last matches he was very busy, but all his snake-like dribblings produced too little outcome.
@@lakritz1987 Even if Germany go far, Wirtz could have a tournament like Thomas Häßler in 1990. Häßler had a magnificient club season, was hailed as Germany‘s greatest talent, but then had a very strange World Cup where he was a regular starter in a very successful team, but himself had almost no impact on the team.
while the last 2 world cups had poor results a lot can be simply explained by poor finishing.in 2018 germany had the highest xG per 90s and a differnace of -2 per game. obvioulsy per 90 stats are inflated because the best nations go far and there play vs good opponents. and in 2022 they had over twice the xg vs xga in all 3 matches yet only one once.
German here - I think you are kinda fanboing here. The Team is sadly very unpredictable hence a classic Striker who can perfom is missing. Also they play good against good teams and then suck against bad teams... we will see how they perform in the euros ;)
Also German here - I think you are kinda being overly pessimistic. There's a lot of good signs (like exactly those which were presented in the video) that the tourney can be successful for them. Signs that there missing these past few years. The manager is way more promising, we have a set starting eleven unlike in the past and we also DO have a classic striker who can perform in the form of Füllkrug and even Havertz scores important goals when he needs to. Füllkrug scored 11 goals in the last 16 matches and eliminated most doubt people had regarding us lacking in that position.
Toni Kroos is not the little brother of Tom Cruise. ;-) Why is his name always mispronounced by English speakers? It's not that Kroos is an unknown wunderkind. Double o in German is just a long "o" as in often or order. You do a good job with the pronunciation of Nagelsmann, Neuer though, even Müller, Gündogan or Mittelstädt in spite of the umlauts sound OK. Wirtz, however, should be pronounced Weeerts (with a long "e").
You can’t call Germany “dark horse” it’s not like their Poland or some other country than never won a thing. The tournament is on their land for God’s sake.
@@Frankieefootballmundial I don’t support them, I don’t care if they lost in the group stage. A dark horse is used to describe a team that no one thinks has a slight chance of winning.. not a contender.

If you are talking about dark horse I think I see Poland or Czech Republic or Hungary
@@Frankieefootballmundial I agree, the current German team is not as loaded as they used to be, but they still have a chance to win it. There are some brilliant players and a good adaptable coach. I think they could go all the way to the semis.
don’t forget in the last three major tournaments they were eliminated in group stages twice and quarterfinal. besides that they lost 0-6 to Spain in the National League just four years ago.
I hope you are right, but I think Germany can be happy when/if they get to the semi-final. The Mannschaft ist good and so is it's spirit, but other countries are very strong. France, England, Spain...
I want to add that "Die Mannschaft" was just a bad marketing stunt a couple years back. They thought the Germany national team could use a nickname like the squadra azura, three lions or the selecao but forgot the fact that these names develop naturally. The press might have called other squads of Nagelsmann "Nagelsmänner" or "Nagelsmen" before but just for now I prefer it over that artificial name. Also "Die Mannschaft" for Germans is a symbol for bad performances of a non-relatable national team because this whole campaign came more or less at the beginning of this really unsuccessful phase.
@@reinrassigerStuhl Get over it, in English and other languages the "mannschaft" is established, DFB just took it and thought they could make it a brand domestically. Whatever you say about sounds and connotations, "mannschaft" is cool in other languages.

Germany winning euros is more believable than England winning it. 😅
This time I would rather bet on England. Let's see
Statistically you can't argue with that. England won nil in the last 58 years and never won the Euros.
@@0815- Aged like milk
@@Nutzer11
As far as I know England is still in the tournament and in the round of 16. Your comment makes no sense.
@@0815- England is performing very poor right noe
I rated Germany quite low in this tournament but it would be good to see them do well. That first game vs Scotland may have been a bit of a mirage so I wouldn't put too much stock in that.
we are gonna win the tournament! 💪
A good chance to do so!
At that stage it's usually the form of the day rather than the combined individual quality.
nice video 👍🏻
Germany gotta reach quarter finals at least imo. Their squad is just brilliant
They play at home, that is why.
As a german have to say the first 3 min are a bit overdramatic.
C and probably wirtz might be the star
Him and Musiala are gonna be 🔥
Let‘s hope Wirtz can carry his great form into the tournament. In the last matches he seemed a bit overplayed to me. Also let‘s hope that Musiala rediscovers his efficiency. In the last matches he was very busy, but all his snake-like dribblings produced too little outcome.
Wirtz and Musiala will be Stars in 5-6 years from now. Till then Germany won’t win anything imo
Yet they won the world cup

good video
very interestimg how you saw germany before 2006 😂
It wasn’t even 20 years ago
You should make a video on current Portuguese national team. They are insanely well balenced team in europe right now
it is not "Die Mannschaft" anymore ... that abyssal term has been dropped!
Yea dude, we wanna be called the Sturm Staffel again!
It has always been the term by foreign broadcasters way before Bierhoff decided to to use it as an official brand…
Yess youre right, there are now the Nagelsmänner
@@bamfyfe thats how they felt in the 2014 semi for sure

Let's shine together 🇩🇪💥
Coz if they start going no one can stop them 😂🇩🇪👍

Germany and Netherlands going to final,Germany will trimph to become euro 2024 champion.
while the last 2 world cups had poor results a lot can be simply explained by poor finishing.in 2018 germany had the highest xG per 90s and a differnace of -2 per game. obvioulsy per 90 stats are inflated because the best nations go far and there play vs good opponents. and in 2022 they had over twice the xg vs xga in all 3 matches yet only one once.
Great video. Properly informed and everything you mentioned was correct
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it!
5:1 Germany 🎉
except the last two world cups, germany got to the semis or finals in 48% of all world cups.
I am sorry, but Germany also placed second in the 2002 world cup. It's not like we were incredibly weak before 2006.
That 2002 side was the weakest Germany, period. Only got to the final with the brilliance of Oli Kahn.
But it will be very difficult against Spain and then Portugal or France, all top teams
They've largely been subpar and lackluster in the past 2 years or so, we shall see.
So far it's a typical German tournament start. First game always very strong, then the second is often a loss and after that they make it far.
We literally lost the first game in 2018, 2021 and 2022
As a german i say.... wait we will see 😅
German here - I think you are kinda fanboing here.
@@depalodor you get it 🙌🏼
if this tournament isn’t played in Germany they won’t have 1% of chance winning
They are not dangerous; they are limited!

Yup that news arrived after I had uploaded 😁
Tonsilitis tho, what an unlucky way to miss your first major tourney!
I really want to edit your videos at high level i can do documentary style and mainstream style as well.
Watch them crash out in the quarterfinals 😂
@@Frankieefootballmundial I don’t support them, I don’t care if they lost in the group stage. A dark horse is used to describe a team that no one thinks has a slight chance of winning.. not a contender.
@@7amadexplains477 Germany is not the same when they have Michael Ballack, Philip Lahm,Bastian Schwinsteiger and Lukas Podeski now that was a well stacked German team compare to this current one they made the World Cup semifinal 4 straight times and 3 out of 4 players are World Cup champions.

A strong team, but not able to show consistently good performance. The TOURNAMENT STRENGTH has not been seen for many years. We will see
I hope you are right, but I think Germany can be happy when/if they get to the semi-final. The Mannschaft ist good and so is it's spirit, but other countries are very strong. France, England, Spain...
Eddi nobody calls it Die Mannschaft. It's either die Nationalmannschaft, Deutschland or if you are lazy die Natio.
It’ll be very competitive, and the winner should be decided by the finest of margins!
Edit: Emre Can was nominated after Pavlovic couldnt make it because of illness
U know they are dangerous when players like hummels and brandt did not even make into the list

I predict germany will go to te semi finals but loose to france on pens
it all comes down if nageslsmann has the balls to sub gundogan during the tournament... if yes chances to gar far arent that bad tbh
Wow, this aged like fine milk.

leaving the group stage would already be a step forward. you're overselling germans rn. fuellkrug should start instead of havertz imo
7:1 WE LOVE BRAZIL
7up😅
Who is Cruise???
we re not "DieMannschaft" anymore. We never called us like this, because it sounds cringe in german.
They barely managed a draw against Switzerland
02:30 You shud not use the term "Die Manschaft"... it's invented by the official Oliver Bierhoff... BUT is not appreciated by fans!
We are bound to get Spain in the quarterfinals. And that‘s where it will end, unfortunately.
