It's not even "I don't want to go" that gets me. No. It's the blasting of The Doctor's Theme after he says it. Which for me is 9-10's theme. But since 9 got more time, I associate it with him more. And it's when that song hits. Man. My feels.
The regeneration scene was heartbreaking. The way that you could tell it was the end. The doctor was staggering to the tardis doors in more pain than he had ever experienced. I just wanted to hug him and say goodbye ;(
What hurts more is, by technicality, 10 is only 6 years old. A child who sacrificed himself to save a man. He may have 906 years of experience, but his face only has 6 years
He didn't deserved to go like this...but it couldn't have ended any other way. And that rips me apart. He did so much good...made so many sacrifices...lost so much, gained so little...and his reward? Sacrificing the one thing he had left to give...himself.
Just the episode prior to this we saw him at his darkest and after that before the episode ends we can see him already know that this incarnation needs to go 😢😢 this is PEAK TV 😂
And so the great hero, our friend and advisor and savior, our teacher and healer and brother, our Doctor passes into shadow. But we know that he will never be forgotten. That his words, his deeds, and story will forever hold a spot in our hearts. Who would we be without him?
Peter Capaldi is Amazing... Matt Smith was Perfect... Christopher Eccleston was Fantastic... But David Tennant...He's my Doctor...and he always will be...
Vale Decem IN ENGLISH: farewell ten on to eternity the fates be with you on to eternity farewell ten the fates be with you oh, blessed he who brought us peace farewell ten lay down your burden we will remember you forever more farewell ten we give you thanks on to eternity you are not alone never trust to the last farewell farewell farewell farewell ...
These are the Lyrics to the song in Latin and English: Vale Decem (Farewell Ten) Ad Aeternam (On to Eternity) Di Melioria (The Fates be with You) Ad Aeternam (On to Eternity) Vale Decem (Farewell Ten) Di Melioria (The Fates be with You) Beati (Oh Blessed He) Pacifici (Who brought us Peace) Vale Decem (Farewell Ten) Alis Grave (Lay down your Burden) Ad Perpetaum (We will remember You) Memoriam (Forevermore) Vale Decem (Farewell Ten) Gratis Tibi Ago (We give You thanks) Ad Aeternam (On to Eternity) Num quam Singularis (You are not alone) Num quam (Never) Dum Spiro Fido (Trust to the Last) Vale (Farewell x10)
Thanks for the lyrics. Awesome! Shows how fondly the production thought of Doctor No. 10. Beautiful track. So glad he came back for the 50th anniversary. And equally great transition into Dr. No. 11. Whatever - Murray Gold's music is staggeringly epic.
+Leon Estrali My favorite doctor is... All of them I think every single one is just as good and has something unique to them that makes me love them :)
exactly, while the Tenth Doctor IS my favourite, I love all of them. Each of them brings something to the Doctor's character and all together, they are the Doctor. One and the same person.
This is perhaps my all time Doctor Who pieces. Along with This is Gallifrey and the Doctor's Theme (10) create a hauntingly beautiful and mystifying set of music, that set my heart on fire.
God... 8 years... seems like yesterday i heard the words for the first time... this song... "this song is ending.. but the story never ends." .... "i dont want to go..."
After ten left, my care free childhood ended. Entrance exams and secondary school came into the picture in 2010. It was a good _farewell_ though, to both my doctor and my childhood. If a little sad.
I cried more when Christopher Eccleston regenerated than when David Tennant did, but it's worth remembering that i was 7 in 2005 and 12 when Tennant regenerated. Also 9 is my doctor. But I don't deny which regeneration was more heartbreaking, and it is definitely this one
The people that disliked the video were probably crying so much they missed the like button. I don't blame them, it's impossible not to cry listening to this and just hearing David Tennant quietly say, "I don't want to go."
This is the song of the doctor who's real death. After the 4th season, this is not the doctor we loved in the first episode ROSE. Good bye Docktor. Good bye 10th ;(
I held my tears for the most part… until Ood Sigma said they would sing him to sleep… and then I cried. So. Much. Soaked an entire handkerchief. Why they gotta DO this to us…
Tennant may have been a popular actor but that was more due to his long tenure than anything else, Look at Tom baker his tenure was nearly 7 years and he's one of the highest rated Doctors.
Before this recent season of Doctor Who, I called David Tennant my favourite Doctor. And he still has a special place in my heart. But Peter Capaldi is just too good. It's going to hurt me when he regenerates.
+The Doctor Well, "The Doctor", this isn't meant to focus on Eleven's entry, but Ten's exit. Eleven's entry has its own song. This song highlights the idea that Ten is a hero and will be loved and never forgotten. It's to help him rest in peace.
@@thedoctor6535 I rather think you're showing off your Latin skills, which is fine, but I got to agree with what Paras Chauhan so eloquently explained.
Because I couldn't let that ridiculously sad comment pass without feeling like a traitor.

I really think they should have ended the episode in the exact moment when the Doctor regenerated. Would have held the mood WAY better. Instead they destroyed it with the absurd behaviour of the new Doctor and the party/adventure-like music. That's the worst decision that was ever made in this series.
I don't agree with you, what i like about doctor who is that it's not cliche, it's not what you expect it to be, you're always surprised, and in this scene you are so heartroken and sad by the goodbyes with this wonderful 10th doctor, and right after that they make you smile while you're still crying, because the new doctor seems fun and freaking exciting. They also did that with the goodbyes with rose and i found this type of transition quite awesome! Anyways i understand why you feel that way but for me they couldn't have done a better ending.
The people that disliked the video were probably crying so much they missed the like button. I don't blame them, it's impossible not to cry listening to this and just hearing David Tennant quietly say, "I don't want to go."

this song is over, but the story never ends.
Mike Bobby for me ends here
It should end soon considering the latest season...
what story?
@19750bob I Picture This Theme As Destoroyah's Sacrifice If He Redeemed Himself
"The universe will sing you to sleep."
"This song is ending but the story never ends"
You know you’re a real whovian if you hear 10 say "I don't want to go" even though there's just music at 2:16
Of course it's one of the most heartbreaking moments in Doctor Who history
"I don't WANNA go", i'm stilling, but i post, when the music to 2:16
the "i dont want to go part" introduces the leitmotif of the doctors theme, Sad.
It's not even "I don't want to go" that gets me. No. It's the blasting of The Doctor's Theme after he says it. Which for me is 9-10's theme. But since 9 got more time, I associate it with him more. And it's when that song hits. Man. My feels.

If your listening to this master Piece in 2021, your a true whovain.
im still listening in 2023
How's 2024
you're* but thanks ;)

The 10th doctor died the exact way he feared, all alone and unawarded
im watching this playlist but I need the toilet and now I'm on this tune... I don't wanna go
"This song is ending but the story never ends"
Let's be honest, we all mouthed "I don't wanna go" at 2:18
And so the great hero, our friend and advisor and savior, our teacher and healer and brother, our Doctor passes into shadow. But we know that he will never be forgotten. That his words, his deeds, and story will forever hold a spot in our hearts. Who would we be without him?
Damn, that was so beautiful. Simply spot on. You took the feeling out of my heart and put it into words.
Johanna Gustafsson Thanks. That means a lot :')
RIP Doctor
The Ninth and Tenth Doctors were heroes
Yeah. He was.
Peter Capaldi is Amazing...

10 was the greatest doctor since 4. I will always miss him >.
+Leon Estrali I agree :)
+SlashRaven008 You would make a good Dalek.

This Song is ending, but the Story Never ends…
Allons-y regenereate
Allons-y to Geronimo
Beautiful piece of music
This is perhaps my all time Doctor Who pieces. Along with This is Gallifrey and the Doctor's Theme (10) create a hauntingly beautiful and mystifying set of music, that set my heart on fire.
God... 8 years... seems like yesterday i heard the words for the first time... this song... "this song is ending.. but the story never ends." .... "i dont want to go..."
"Just one more thing, one more miracle, 10; Don't. Be. Dead."
“I don’t want to go...”
I rewatch the episode...just to hear this song in concert with the action (the farewells)
The song is over, but a new one begins.
After ten left, my care free childhood ended. Entrance exams and secondary school came into the picture in 2010. It was a good _farewell_ though, to both my doctor and my childhood. If a little sad.

My Doctor.
My favorite doctor.
*The* Doctor.
Now I know what the words mean it hurts even more
Oh Ten, how we miss you!
I Don't Want to go. Had me in tears while listing to this music..
The only reason i don't cry to this is I've heard it a lot.
I'll be playing this during David Tennant's exit scene in the 50th Anniversary Special
Это просто божественно... 10 Доктор лучший из всех докторов!
Only 1 other person in my school knows what doctor who is.. everyone is missing out!
This was the first doctor I saw regenerate. And my poor little 8 y/o self couldn't stop crying. God I miss the the tenth doctor.
I had started and finished secondary school by the time his era started and ended so it was an emotional rollercoaster
RIP Tenth doctor: December 2005 - January 2010
The people that disliked the video were probably crying so much they missed the like button. I don't blame them, it's impossible not to cry listening to this and just hearing David Tennant quietly say, "I don't want to go."
Aaaand ... Here we go for another weeping session !
Without question the pinnacle of the show
Farewell Ten and goodbye Davies.
Vale Decem is Latin for "Farewell Ten"...... Right in the feels..
The Universe will sing you to sleep... This song is ending; but the story _never_ ends.

Doctor why must you insets on hurting me right in the feels
"I don't want to go."
David Tennant is my Doctor ! Allons-y !
“I’m in a chair…”
Number 51 on my Doctor Who soundtrack playlist. :(
2:22....always gives me goosebumps...
테닥의 마지막 브금...l don't want to go...ㅠㅠ
This is the song of the doctor who's real death. After the 4th season, this is not the doctor we loved in the first episode ROSE. Good bye Docktor. Good bye 10th ;(
kosisi Of The doctor who’s real death? Sure you’re a fan? It’s The Doctor. Not doctor who. Also, Goodbye “Docktor”
Are you sure. I happen to find 11 and 12 great, if not flawed. Besides, you forget everything from 1-8, and the War Doctor.
Vale Decem is Latin for "Farewell Ten". When I found that out it was just too much.
I hear ya
@EddieKat i was on the floor crying
I need a chairrrrrrr.
Your song is ending soon... but the story never ends.
8th Doctor: Forgive me.
Physician heal thyself.
I held my tears for the most part… until Ood Sigma said they would sing him to sleep… and then I cried. So. Much. Soaked an entire handkerchief. Why they gotta DO this to us…
couldn't have said it better ;)
I don’t wanna go
Vale Davies

David Ten-nant was the Doctor.
@Kataaangkiss123 But you must've cried the first time you heard it, surely?
@hpcwarlord Actually Tennant only did four years, whch is about average. Matt's already in his fourth year.
2017 anybody?
FoxIGaming no
Nope 2018
Before this recent season of Doctor Who, I called David Tennant my favourite Doctor. And he still has a special place in my heart. But Peter Capaldi is just too good. It's going to hurt me when he regenerates.
@Kataaangkiss123 AROOOOGA AROOOOGA! TENNANT FANATIC ALERT!
😔
@Legoguyproductions1 we didn't ask you, please keep opinoins to yourself please
"Fantastic?" Don't you mean "Brilliant?"
@Kataaangkiss123 Lol
Personally I would have preferred it be called "Salve Undecim".
+The Doctor Well, "The Doctor", this isn't meant to focus on Eleven's entry, but Ten's exit. Eleven's entry has its own song. This song highlights the idea that Ten is a hero and will be loved and never forgotten. It's to help him rest in peace.
I know, just expressing an optimistic viewpoint.
The Doctor The track for Eleven's part could've been called that

Sad to see 10 go, but happy as fuck to see Russel T. D leave the show.
Welp, sucks to be you for this next series then.
