3:14 - do they measure the boxes? YES, i believe they do, a postal worker told me they have scanning machines that do calculate weight & dimensions automatically on a conveyer belt system. but man, that 15 $ fee for 30" SUX big time!!
Thank you so much for this video. I ask my local post office about this yesterday and they acted like they didn't know. That is a lot of extra charges. Has eBay updated their shipping to match this? It doesn't look like it. I am not sure what will happen. If I were to drop off a package that was over 30" in length or one that was 12' X 16" X 18" how would this work. If eBay rates didn't show this when I purchased a label, or my local post office didn't charge me extra when I dropped it off, would my buyer incur the charge at the other end when it was delivered? This is very discouraging. I just can't believe it. I sell vintage. I have shipped a lot of oversized boxes recently. Thank you in advance of your reply.
Thanks for watching and thanks for asking. The USPS makes these changes and then they do not instruct their employees on how to handle them. I'm thinking if you're not charged properly up front, the person receiving the package will have to pay when it is delivered. But, I'm not 100% sure.
It doesn’t make sense at all. I sell and ship several golf clubs and will probably go to UPS Ground and hope the cost stays in the $8-15 range based on destination. I’m curious if they are going to discontinue the USPS Priority triangle box. The larger one is 38” long. No one is going to pay $25 or more to use that box for anything. Even the Postal Clerk at my small office shook her head and rolled her eyes when they finally figured it out last week. Who knows, they may do away with Media Mail next! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video. Several months ago I sourced a huge lot of military posters and maps, many over 22” and some over 30”. Definitely going to go UPS. Hopefully they will appreciate the uptick in business and not raise their rates as well, something lower than USPS but still higher than their current rate. When I heard this awhile ago I purchased a case of 20” tubes for my smaller posters. I think there may be a higher demand for them soon.

Thanks for watching. Yes, the $15 fee has ended eBay for a bunch of sellers who sell things like golf clubs.

@@therefinedreseller275 That is what I was concerned about. Thank you, and this is still crazy!
@@therefinedreseller275 they will charge the seller's account, at least that's what they did to me.

Thanks for watching. I have some of those triangular boxes. They better not do away with media mail. I sell a lot of DVDs, CDs, albums and books.
@@therefinedreseller275 well, if they do that, we'll know that this is another attack on small businesses.

Thanks for watching. Yes, UPS and FEDEX will probably be the way to go.
Thanks for the great, easy to understand, information! Annette from Kentucky
You're welcome. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
PRC Approved USPS Rate Increase on 27 May 2022. Effective 10 July 2022 59c => 60c +
Yep. Keeps going up. Thanks for watching.
Thanks as always
You're welcome, Carol. Thanks for watching.
They are rising prices for eBay now but wait until July when they rise it again 😂🤣 will never mail anything from them
Yes, the postal rates are getting ridiculous.
🤣😂👎 to little to late boy oh boy they will do anything to make them worse then they already are
It's the post office. eBay really has nothing to do with rate increases at the post office.
