Damn, this cover takes me back. Welcome to Sky Valley is THE album I played all the time the year I got into my first band as a bass player. I used to play this album everytime just before band practice, takes me back to such a peculiar moment in my life. Love what you do, as always.
Cause I'm basically doing 3 things at once. I'm sight-reading, playing bass and I'm constantly checking the camera to see if I'm still in shot. Otherwise, I would move a bit more haha
That's fantastic man. Kyuss was my favourite band when I got into bass around 15/16, Scott reader plays at the very end of the fretboard to get that muddy tone and believe it or not, I'm pretty sure the bass has no drive. Great job with the fills! Spot on
@@LeoBassCovers2 ruclips.net/video/OkAE5x7cnFw/видео.html Here he goes in one of my all time favourite video of the internet! Looking forward to other kyuss covers man!
It's taken months but I can now play this pretty much spot on XD Scott Reeder, what a bassist.... My fills have got a lot better since learning this, maybe I'm just ripping these off lol, but they sound so tasty it's hard not to XD Thanks for the vid man, has helped me tonnes!
Can someone advise to correct tempo for the metronome? I want to learn this song, but I''ve just started with my bass. My ear says it's somewhat around 150, but various sites say it's 169 or even 85 0_o.
I guess someone put 85 because the somehow thought that the song is in 6/8. I put it at 156 bpm myself, but it varies throughout the song as it probably was not played to a click track. so it switches around a lot from 150-156 with every bar
Hello Leo, been following your work for a while and it's extremely soothing. It kind of made me want to pick up the bass. I see you using a 5 string, but is it a better idea to go for a 4 as a beginner? Would love to hear back from you
It really depends. I personally find a 5 string easier to play since the spacing is not as big as a 4 string. But uh, up to you really. I started on a 5 string so I guess I am a little bit biased.
The world needs more high quality Kyuss covers like this one
For sure. What I wouldn't give to see demon cleaner up next
Amen!

"it felt like every 4th bar of this song is a fill" 😏 absolutely right
the power of Scott Reeder’s noodling is too much for tab to handle
@@EmptyDomoKanti99 the way Scott plays his bass is immense with power, that’s why
Scott reeder is a legend

@@LeoBassCovers2 My pleasure!
So many tasty fills by Scott Reeder. His style reminds me so much of Geezer Butler
Dunno how he can sit so still while playing Kyuss, I can't help but move and groove when playing Kyuss

Great job. These types of songs are a pain in the ass if you want to nail every fill like on the record.
Thanks! And very true.. transcribing these kinds of songs is a nightmare!

Not the hero we deserve, but the hero we needed.
holy crap! been years since I have listened to Kyuss. What a pleasant surprise, thx for the cover!
A pleasure!
Yess kyuss' more cover plz
You need to go to Stewart's Channel to see someone tear up Gardinia better than the original basses. The guy could be a sit in for any rock band IMHO.
You upload the good stuff. Amazing as always, keep it up man!!!
Thank you, will do!
Great tone! Nice video too

Amazing, thank u so much
No problem :)
That something no one will read is the only reason I clicked on discription
It may feel like there's fills every 4 bars but the one at bars 190-191 with the false time change feel is yo (& everyone else's) daddy

Would you like to show us how to play catamaran on guitar?? thank you man, I support your work. i..i,
Nice sound bro..May I ask you how do you get this half clean half overdriven sound?
Thank you! Just go easy on treble and distortion. Fuzz makes this tone better
@@LeoBassCovers2
Thank you my friend :) keep up the good work
You should have a go at space cadet!!
I second that
Well one things for sure. this tuning is gonna kill my bass
Yep!
@@LeoBassCovers2 But great Cover though!
How do you get this tone?
Lots and lots of distortion, but turn down the treble quite a bit. Higher distortion would ruin the tone.
