I don't understand why they can't make a GOOD modern contra. Series is cursed maybe? Thks looks like it would have been ok if the animation was smoother, didn't look like it's in slo mo, and had writers who weren't on crack. I mean, look at the first contra, how much of a story did it have? Basically nothing, aside from what you read in the manual. The tone is not nearly dark or creepy enough, just imagine the possibilities with modern lighting and sound. Such waste

I love this game to pieces... its got all the great 16 bit action you know and love from contra... along with some interesting quirks. Like some of the boss music from Sega's Contra Hard Corp.. which if you never played before YOU MUST.... but I didnt know Che Guavara was World Galactic President... must be some communists and socialists running Konami there that are all going to vote for Bernie Sanders. In many ways, this game is much better than the SNES version (contra 3) and is right up there with Contra Hard Corp for the Sega Genesis in terms of bosses... level design... visuals and such. Its a shame SNES ended up with such a rotten piece of shit back in the day.

So a naked dude can drop from space station through the atmosphere to the earth.
And can die, come back, and single handedly take on an alien invasion with a gun that has unlimited ammo.

They really should bring back the weapon system featured in Contra: Hard Corps for SEGA Genesis.
