I have a 1927s and two 1964 with such detail they are unlike any others I have seen. Struck deep with the finest detail. Like you could climb the steps on the back. Front looks like Lincoln's head could rise up. Finest proof I've ever seen.

I do have a few of these and have found a counterfeit from a roll. I now know how to identify legit ones, expensive mistake getting the fake one graded.

Dang. I have a '22. I always assumed it was a no mint mark (Philly) because I couldn't see any sign a mintmark. But it's in horrible shape. :-/ just beat up dull brown. The back is barely legible. Wish the internet was around 34 years ago when I was about 9yr. old and first came across that '22 going through the change jar I inherited from my dad. I would've done something to protect it rather than just catalog a 22 wheaty and toss it back in the jar.

Sir, in reference to the claim that a 1972-D Kennedy Half Dollar (KHD) weighing 11.3 Grms.(174.02 Gns.) is 40% silver. According to Alan Herbert's book, A Guide to Mint Errors, seventh edition, a 1976 KHD weighs 11.52 Grms. ((177.5 Gns.) with a variance of a +- 6.2 Gns.) The 1972-D KHD weighs11.36 Gms (( 175 Gns.) with a variance of a +- 6.2 Gns.) The only way to truly know, to the best of my knowledge, would be a Specific Gravity test utilizing the composition of each coin. So I remain in limbo. Was a specific gravity done on the coin you possess?

I have a 1922 but don't have a good enough magnifier to see if that mintmark is there the coin is probably a good4 grade
Submit it to Grading Companies: PCGS, or NGC. Then, Submit to any Coin Dealer: Heritage Auction [ha.com] or Great Collections. Ask for Advance.

I have a 22 D with a big die break on the reverse. I have been told it's not worth much, I think it's vg. It's probably worth more to me than anyone would be willing to pay because I look at it as historical. That reverse die was on its last leg. You said yourself there wasn't but three die pairs.

Ok Shawn I have a what's the grading points between mi t sets and proof will a mint set coin grade ms or pr say like 1960 p mint coins are they consider a proof the reason I ask is I found a 69 p either a DDO or a LG over sm date . ? And it looks to me as a very higher grade. Coin and looking to sending it into pcgs for grading
It's not a 69 but it is a 1960 so which would it be graded as a Ms or a PR from my mint set I'm going to have every broken down from mint set and graded and I'm looking at certain grading on it so I would like to your opinion on the matter you have one ? Thanks Dan

Shawn, how do you know that when you send out a coin to be grated that they are going to send you back your original coin or send it back at all. Is their any gaurentees. I'm just curious.
