The key to widespread electric vehicle adoption will be the abundant generation of electricity. Unfortunately, solar and wind generation are not always available. The sun does set and the wind can stop blowing. Here in California, the big electrical utilities have not maintained their delivery systems very well. Hopefully the Kansas utilities have done better. Weird. Not saying you're wrong, but weird because my Corvette never did that, and I custom ordered that. Then again they do quite a bit of testing on those before releasing them, so could have happened during that I suppose.

Those cars are low and tight and have huge wheels and stiff chassis designed to handle going, turning and stopping fast. You can literally see the whole thing twist in the wrangler when he puts his foot down, it's a deathtrap that's going to have lots of casualties.
Have to run the 3rd gen hemi hard. Watched a video on the 3rd Gen Hemi tick not related to the exhaust bolt sheering. It's from not getting sufficient oil at lower RPMs.
I just bought the diesel rubicon. You are making me want to collect the other 2 niche power plants and have a 392 and 4xe in the stable. Already had the 3.6 but no way on the etorque. Don’t think the baby turbo will keep from tearing itself apart in the long term so maybe just the 392 for now. There are a couple of dealers offering them at MSRP through the jeep forums.
@@MikeKayK yeah. The diesel for off-roading and towing and the 392 for more fun and banging around. The 392 is AWD and doesn’t have a transfer case disconnect so you don’t have the versatility and the brake assist traction control et al is not the most ideal for that kind of driving. It is a street machine with offroad capabilities. Not sold yet on the 4xe as it only gives you 25miles tips of all electric which at the cost of all the added complexity is just stupid. @@williamserver4332 Exactly. Where I live (Michigan) new Tesla's can't even be sold here legally. The few people here who own them have to purchase them out of state somewhere and there's virtually zero charging support for them or any other EV for that matter (aside from the dealership), so owners literally have to live somewhere that they can install a power source at home in order to use those cars. I like the idea of EV's but people who think they're going to rule the roads in 20 years are very short-sighted. Maybe in California where I hear that EV's are now as common as Camry's or F-150's, but the rest of America is hardly equipped and many consumers simply aren't interested or trusting of them.
I have dealt with Clay before and I’m not surprised he’s willing to sell at MSRP. I upgraded from a Honda Ridgeline to a 2017 Rebel that for--the smaller brother to that TR--and even after a few years it's just amazing. Lol hoovie is the best person to test drive a car because if something is about to break, you already know that he’s gonna break it during the test drive
They are absolutely cranking out those TRXs, and they're also making way more of the Grand Wagoneers than I ever would have imagined at an even higher price point. It makes sense since those models are the highest margin, and when you've got a limited supply of chips available, you make as many of those high margin vehicles as you can, and then you put whatever is leftover into the most popular models. The reason I know they're cranking them out is because I happen to work for Stellantis, and I provide IT support in their manufacturing facilities. Since the chip shortage has caused plants to shut down sporadically, I've spent some time helping out at other facilities, and I had the chance to work at SHAP where they build the TRX and WTAP where they build the Grand Wagoneer, and I saw a large number of both moving down the line. The 4Xe (pronounced four-by-ee) models are pretty sweet, because they've got lots of torque and way better gas mileage than the Pentastar. It's a lot more practical than the 392 Wrangler. The electrification stuff is gonna be a lot more exciting once the folks over in the Dodge division start doing their thing. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next couple of years we see them putting out models that will blow the doors off of anything you can currently get from Tesla, which isn't as hard as you'd think, given the poor build quality of Tesla's vehicles. Even back in the day (late 70's - 90's) when Chrysler vehicles weren't known for their high build quality (they're actually winning awards for it now, so it's turned around since the previous merger with Fiat) they still weren't made nearly as bad as these Teslas that literally have bumpers falling off the vehicle when people are driving them off the lot.

Dude, I get that the Jeep 392 is a little expensive and for sure a bit excessive for what most Jeep owners do, but it is so incredible. I bought a 2021 Diesel Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport and it has been incredible. That Pentastar engine was sick, but not efficient and not crazy powerful. The diesel gets over 30 when I take the family on road trips with the stock tires, so I have efficiency. Now there is a power option for those enthusiasts with the 392.
Nice to see someone appreciating the steps forward Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep has made in the past few years. They've done a lot to make better vehicles, especially under Fiat, as opposed to the Mercedes dumping ground they used to be in the mid 2000's.

Euro cars are more likely to have electrical/minor issues that are more expensive to repair. But you see..a 2018 Toyota with 100k is basically barely broken in. Almost new. It’s expensive but justifies its price tag. This is 20-30k overpriced when you can get a Charger with a 392 in the 40’s. I have purchased 12 brand new cars over the past few decades, none have ever smoked. Smelled yes, but never smoked.
New vehicles never come with 0 miles. No new vehicle is new. They are all started and ran and tested, typically on machines at the factory, before arriving to dealerships. So no, the 1st test drive at the dealership is NOT the first drive. Therefore, The smoke and smell burns off well before cars get to the dealership. Now if the dealership puts that stupid glossy detail spray on the engine and headers, then yes, its going to smoke and smell

Everything that people said is going to change in 10 years still won't full change for another 5-10 beyond that. As noble as it might be I feel like the most we'll see by then is more hybrid engines rather than an "all electric future," simply because the issues of that future aren't fully solved yet. Well, that and people generally fight tooth and claw against change.
It took a lot to get out of the malaise era...having got my licenses in the late 1980's , I say good riddance to the bad old days. Cars in the 1990's started to get indestructible, and by the time the 2000's rolled around, we started seeing insane horsepower numbers 😉

Don’t think the baby turbo will keep from tearing itself apart in the long term so maybe just the 392 for now. There are a couple of dealers offering them at MSRP through the jeep forums.
Did you really just say you would want to own 3 Wranglers at the same time, each with a different engine?
@@MikeKayK yeah. The diesel for off-roading and towing and the 392 for more fun and banging around. The 392 is AWD and doesn’t have a transfer case disconnect so you don’t have the versatility and the brake assist traction control et al is not the most ideal for that kind of driving. As the first model that dealership got, they could easily sell it to anybody else and probably make more money doing it if hoovie didn't buy it lol
If it's the first time off the truck before going for a test drive, some stuff they coat the parts in to preserve it during assembly will burn off.
Thats probably one of the coolest stock jeeps ive ever seen.
