Bro tip: To achieve any kind of volume hairstyle with a strong hold and a bit of shine ( so not the dull to much matte look ) without grease, Use A volume shampoo, ( aesop ) blowdry the hair and apply a peanut size Morris Motley Styling Balm before blowdrying. Finish with Hanz de Fuko Claymation. Trust me guys ive done the research for you and been through a lot of shitty products for the sake of this.
+Galaxy Motions Yes true it is cheaper than hanz de fuko since the price on the website is in australian dollars! And the jar has 100 ml in it. Totally worth it in my opinion.
Do you have any of those short hairs on your hairline at the front? I like to push my hair back but at the end of the day i see little "broken" hairs on my hairline.
So true. I thought this was a problem of minority but it looks like more people are facing it. Well, hairspray shall work for handling the hair right. However, less effort and money taking way would be better.
I have the same problem due to a lady at fantastic sams being distracted while talking to a co-worker, turning around to talk to her whilst cutting my sides; and literally getting the perfect angle and buzzing off half my hairline. This is why i will no longer go to Fantastic sams, and now go to a barber. I am now growing them back, and it pisses me off every time i look at it. So i understand the annoyance. peace.
I have medium length hair and im just looking for a really messy bed head look that will give me lots of volume and hold with a matt finish would you recommend this product or something else ?
+Sir Alfred XI Just beware that quicksand makes your hair really dry and greasy and ew, but it will hold really damn well. I've been using modify pomade and find it well but the hold isn't very strong
nico gonzalez i'm not an expert but i've researched this a ton actually. my hair actually was terribly before but then i saw some tips online and it's made a huge improvement. one of them... invest in a good shampoo and conditioner. none of that all in one or blah blah. make sure it's alcohol free. a good organic shampoo and conditioner. i use arganlife or something like that right now and have had no issues. they are pricey though. now here is the trick. ONLY shampoo your hair once or twice a week. eventually, you'll just do it when it feels oily. conditioner your hair every other day. conditioner will cleanse your hair too and it doesn't strip your hair of natural oils. also, stop using terrible gels and waxes. invest in a good one. alcohol free. paraben free. for example, claymation is good. if you really want to go all natural, get a completely organic hair styling product from australian scent. there are a few other companies but i've had experience with this one. drink lots of water. take biotin throughout the day after meals. eat healthy. i promise your hair will grow healthier. keep it natural and let your hair do the work. don't over contaminate it. you can even get some argan oil (make sure to find authentic ones) and use that. maybe use it once or twice a week after showering for a good overall condition. seriously, the less is better for healthy hair. again i'm no expert but i've been seeing this on a lot of videos plus my it's been working extremely well for me.
I have fine thin hair and this product "CLAYMATION didn't work for me. However, what I use to do is apply a hard hold gel after showering which did show my scalp. I think what works best is take your advice in blow drying my hair and use the product, in my case, gel after my hair is dry. It seems to give me the same hold without it looking wet and too shiny. I hate my hair. I really like yours. If I had that kind of hair, I'd got to work with bed head and no styling product. I told my hairdresser is I should just buzz cut my hair? He says, my hair is too sparse and I won't look good. Ugh...
I use the claymation as well and I've noticed with the heat my hair seems to fall as if the clamation no longer holds it. Would hairspray help? What do you recommend? Robin James
Hi Robin have been a big fan for a long time, just wanted to compliment you on how lovely that shirt looks on you! You look really good in this video :)
Hi Robin, ive been using Hanz de fuko claymation and quicksand for a while but find that as the product dries it leaves flakes in your hair? I do rub the product well and have tried using it on both damp and blow dried hair but still seem to get flakiness? Has this happened to you? Many thanks - your videos are great and super helpful! 😉
Do you usually use hair spray at the end of this? I might have to regardless because my hair is quite thick and wild and does not like to stay in place without it. Good video though! Looks awesome.
Hey Robin my hair is kinda thin(I'm not thinning or anything just always had thin hair) and i wanna know would this product work for me or should i try another hanz de fuko product? I'm going for a modern quiff look.
I have very fine hair, i currently have quicksand and i'm wondering if i should try claymation.. Which product do you prefer ? For which reasons ? Thank's robin!
for people watching from India......Try Kocaine Klay available on Flipkart.... it's gives same result as Claymation..... and also it's all natural ingredients.
i have claymation too, but when i use it my hair will fall down 2-3 hours later T.T Your hair is thin right robin? i wonder how do u use claymation for allday T.T
+nhat minh I've been having the same problems. My hair is thick but it isn't very dense, and it's wavy. It falls into the normal hair category. I think it's because Claymation was designed for people with thick hair. But if you use it right, I'm sure you'll get something good out of it.
Hey man! Thanks for this review. Very thorough and useful. I'm really tempted to buy it. Do you happen to know whether it is oil or water based? Honestly, I haven't EVER used hair wax, but I've read some bad things about it being oil based, and thus very difficult to wash it off your hair. I'd appreciate your input on this.
What would you recommend that I should do for a going to school hair which I can do in the morning quickly just with fudge matte head extra? Amazing video as always btw
Hey, great how to Robin! Btw just a quick question, a lot of other youtubers say you should apply the product starting from the back to the front, but i've seen you do it the other way round, any reason?
Hi Robin, just got the clay. works great. BUT i'm having problem washing it off. takes me like 5-6 times. is this normal?? seems like it doesn't comes out easily. any good tips? help me.
I have the same kind of hair but I don't think the slick back is the way to go. I go for a wavy quiff or a faux hawk normally because I don't think slick styles are good for wavy hair.
Got the same. Go for Claymation, it will give a really good hold but hard to wash out with just water so take some time. Don't get pomade it won't straighten the waves.
Hey Robin, I really like the efficiency and transparency of your reviews. Also loving the accent and breezy swag lol! I went through all 3 of your HDF hair styling product reviews (Quicksand, Sponge Wax, and Claymation) and I have a dilemma I hope you can address! I have slightly thin - but definitely not balding - and very straight hair, and I'm wondering which of the 3 products would be best suited for me. My styling repertoire is limited to a mirror and maybe a comb. My hair length isn't curly and long enough to be coiffed like yours, so I'm just trying to push it back and define it a little with hair product. Put simply, I just want a reliable product that gives me a naturally neat look with minimal hassle, while keeping my hair in firm place throughout the day. I hope I'll be able to hear your advice!
Hi there, Whats your 2 favourite clays, I've got Claymation and Blumann bit disappointing tbh , claymation is ok but not great. Any recommendations tnx
Hey man I loved this video! Yet I was wondering how long your hair is all over, the sides, top, front and all because I want to style my hair like the way your hair is in this video!
most people's hair grows at about 1/2 an inch a month, and his hair looks to be about 6in long in the front (I could be a bit off). so do the math from there
If I would want to style my hair like a David Beckham style would claymation be good for my hair or would there be a better hanz de fuko product to use?
Love the video Robin, question, would you consider doing a favorite products with cost, like pomades gels ect under $15 or £15 then maybe something a little more expensive or something
Another great video Robin! At least i can trust you, most of the American guys on RUclips are sponsored by Hanz de fuko so its hard to tell if their honest, any chance you can do the same for modify pomade? Thanks
robin, i want to do a quiff but i want some type of product that will give me good hold with out using hairspray. i want it last throughout a schoolday and i also like to run my fingers through my hair. thanks
hello robin :) great video! is it possible to use this as a prestyler? as in putting it in damp hair, blowdrying it and applying some more in the end to finish it off?
Hey love your vids! What would you recommend for someone who has really light and thin hair? Also, sometimes during my school day I have to change for gym or I take off my sweat shirt and the product leaves my hair and the volume goes away.
He has a video called "Best men's Haircut" explaining the haircut he usually has and even though it is styled differently it doesn't mean that it can't be made into different hairstyles. The front of his hair I can tell by looking at it would be around the end of his nose or around the middle of it. Thickness is genetics btw so it depends on what u already have on ur head
Hey Robin is the website MANKIND in your description legit? I saw some reviews on it and most of them are negative just want to make sure before it buy anything.
Instead of going for "major" haircuts and every 5 months. Get trims every month or every other month. Get about half an inch to an inch off of your hair. If you're trying to grow your hair out then make sure you take care of your hair a lot, the longer your hair the more you have to take care of it because longer hair tends to get split ends easily. Get a good shampoo & conditioner. If you have flyaways use a LITTLE bit extra product to stick them down.
If you still get split ends while you're growing your hair out and you still take amazing care of it, then go get a little trim about half an inch or an inch off of your hair to cut the split ends off. Then continue growing your hair out. It will thank you for cutting the split ends off and will be healthier than before.
hey, I just got this product the other day, but I found that it leaves a somewhat dandruff looking residue in my hair. I will generally use mousse and blow dry my hair before application. Am I using too much? Do I need to emulsify it more?
robin its been more than five days and my hanz de foku hasnt arrived yet. should i wait a bit longer or should i request a refund? and i brought it from brichbox
Robin James also can i use hanz de foku as a prestyler and can i use a lot when using it as a prestyler and then putting murrys pomade after will it work or will it look strange? (:
ahhh this is out of topic question, but ahhh if i use this will this help me like cover a thin spot on my head?? i notice when im blow drying my hair it kinda covers it, but after 1 hour its visible T_T just wondering if this will hold it
What would you recommend for _SUPER_ thick hair? It's also insanely straight and I have soooo much of it. It's impossible to style. I've wasted so much money for useless products for so many years... getting desperate :D
Hi, I have straight, thick hair that's about 2-3 inches and I can't decide between which hair product: By Vilain Gold Digger or Hanz De Fuko Claymation. Since it's short and thick I'm looking for the product to go through the hair easily and give a very strong hold but not feel hard and stiff, but can control my thick hair.
Hey Robin! I have fine textured straight hair, long on top (about 8 inches) short on the sides (faded 1>2). I style my hair in a few different ways, the main 2 being slicked back with little volume, and messy down to one side. Could you recommend me a product? My main problem i have with the products i have tried is that i cant easily push them through my hair without ripping and tugging.
HDF must've updated the ingredient list for Claymation because it now has a petroleum based product as the FIRST ingredient. The EU says this ingredient (Petrolatum) is a carcinogen. Bummer.
Just subscribed to your channel sir. I have a question. Is this okay if the weather is very hot? Can this still hold my hair? I have a more or less 4.5 inches in length. I'm from the Philippines by the way. Thank you!
Carlos Hernandez I personally don't have high volume with my hair but if you blow dry with roundbrush and use claymation it worked wonderful for me!! Hope it helped!
Was looking for Hanz de Fuko Claymation rewview in 2022 as they claim it is such natural! Thank you for review Robin
+A Rijkse Hey mate. Good advice! If that works for you, I'll give it a go. 👌
Robin James Thanks! It works wonders.
+A Rijkse morris montley is expensive, then again, its like buying 2 of the same thing since its almost 4 oz
idk, review it?
+Galaxy Motions Yes true it is cheaper than hanz de fuko since the price on the website is in australian dollars! And the jar has 100 ml in it. Totally worth it in my opinion.
A Rijkse i never tried morris montely,
im satisfied with hanz de fuko

Ryley Sheehan I think that's different bro, mine are natural. Idk if it is a bad thing or if it's normal or whatever.
yeah i get it, just kinda annoying and i get it:)
MrJkca I do. You can neaten them buy hairspraying hand and brushing. Don't worry too much about them, we all have them. :D
I have medium length hair and im just looking for a really messy bed head look that will give me lots of volume and hold with a matt finish would you recommend this product or something else ?
Hanz de Fuko looks like a product line I should venture towards. Been using American Crew for far too long and willing to try something new.
+Sir Alfred XI...If you haven't tried the HDF product line, I would suggest getting the mini kit and try all of them and see what you like...
+Ross Devers or just order literally anything, and use dre drexlers coupon code to get a free mini kit.
+Sir Alfred XI Just beware that quicksand makes your hair really dry and greasy and ew, but it will hold really damn well. I've been using modify pomade and find it well but the hold isn't very strong
Hey! Saw it. Thanks for commenting.
Claymation could actually work pretty well for this!
Your English is perfect. Far better than my French.
Revisiting this video after seeing this on my local department store’s shelf ❤
Hey Robin James ....Can you do a how to have healthy hair vid?It would be greatly appreciated!
nico gonzalez i'm not an expert but i've researched this a ton actually. my hair actually was terribly before but then i saw some tips online and it's made a huge improvement. one of them... invest in a good shampoo and conditioner. none of that all in one or blah blah. make sure it's alcohol free. a good organic shampoo and conditioner. i use arganlife or something like that right now and have had no issues. they are pricey though. now here is the trick. Only use conditioner on the days you shampoo your Harv

Bentonite is actually really good from your hair, I'm surprised it's the second ingredient on the list, other clays is way down on the list
Is it easy to wash out? Will you do a Hanz de Fuko Scheme Cream review?
Awesome! I ordered my claymation last week and can't wait to use it. Thanks for the tips!
Herbalizer1 Hope it goes well.
Are you stil enjoying it?
I use the claymation as well and I've noticed with the heat my hair seems to fall as if the clamation no longer holds it. Would hairspray help? What do you recommend? Robin James

Not sure whether to choose this one or the Da'Dude Da'Wax. Could you please do a comparison review on this? Thanks
Wish you were my hairstylist. Haha ! Thanks for the awesome review ! Loving my claymation
MetalMassacre Than you
MetalMassacre *Thank! :D

You're welcome 😃
Do you usually use hair spray at the end of this?
I might have to regardless because my hair is quite thick and wild and does not like to stay in place without it.
Good video though! Looks awesome.
The video is very helpful. But you have to do something about your room. It looks like my grandmothers during the 80s. Give it some style.
Thank's robin!
does quicksand keep your hair in place/ is the hold very strong? was thinking of buying it
As i said i have fine hair and it fells if i don't use hairspray but with hairspray it last all day, very strong hold and good texture!
Hey - I really only use Claymation from HDF. Wasn't a fan of Quicksand.
Did you use it? Me either I have fine hair
Oh yes, i got it 1 month ago, and honestly it's PERFECT, better than quicksand. Give it a try, u won't be disapointed :)
Like it? Hate it? Just rate it please!
Hey Robin,
So should Claymation be used before the blowdry process, or can it be after as well?
IsJustJovan after
Hey Robin, Do you prefer Sponge Wax or Claymation? what works better for normal, straight hair?
for people watching from India......Try Kocaine Klay available on Flipkart.... it's gives same result as Claymation..... and also it's all natural ingredients.
I loved the product ❤
Can you suggest a good hairspray which has a good hold and won't dry your hair out?
Do you think made on 2019 product still ok to use?
hey great video man! just what i was looking for!
Hi Robin, just wonder would you be able to do a HDF product comparison between Quicksand, Claymation and the latest Gravity Paste?
i have claymation too, but when i use it my hair will fall down 2-3 hours later T.T Your hair is thin right robin? i wonder how do u use claymation for allday T.T
probably how u apply it, u gotta apply it to the roots and not just the hair tops
Robin well i apply it to the roots and tops. Maybe claymation is not suitable for me
+nhat minh I've been having the same problems. My hair is thick but it isn't very dense, and it's wavy. It falls into the normal hair category. I think it's because Claymation was designed for people with thick hair. But if you use it right, I'm sure you'll get something good out of it.
blow dry
What are you using these days? I want something more matte than this with strong hold
This product looks mad , but can it be used to make a pomp?
No u idiot
As if you know
You lead
Blanking my messages and shit
No but you should try Hanz defukos modified pomade one of the best water based pomades out there in my opinion 😄
You do such a good job with hair videos!
Hey man! Thanks for this review. Very thorough and useful. I'm really tempted to buy it. Do you happen to know whether it is oil or water based?
Honestly, I haven't EVER used hair wax, but I've read some bad things about it being oil based, and thus very difficult to wash it off your hair. I'd appreciate your input on this.
all the ingredients are located at HDF website. I believe this is a clay water based product
sir you're very helpful thanks i wish to ask you more questions though
haven't try this one yet gonna grab this sooner!
Will this hold up to the heat of summer? No matter what product I use my hair always ends up falling flat and getting in my face.
Use hairspray and it should stay if it isn't extremely humid
What would you recommend that I should do for a going to school hair which I can do in the morning quickly just with fudge matte head extra? Amazing video as always btw
Yes🙌love this. Great video, might give claymation a go some time.
Great video, I really enjoy the review and tutorial mix!
Hey, great how to Robin! Btw just a quick question, a lot of other youtubers say you should apply the product starting from the back to the front, but i've seen you do it the other way round, any reason?
skullzalliances Hey - you can do it either way. Back to front helps to coat both sides. :D
Alright awesome! Thanks for the reply :D
Hi Robin, just got the clay. works great. BUT i'm having problem washing it off. takes me like 5-6 times. is this normal?? seems like it doesn't comes out easily. any good tips? help me.
Hey man, I have thick, wavy hair, and I like to slick it back. Would this product hold my hair well for the whole day?
I have the same kind of hair but I don't think the slick back is the way to go. I go for a wavy quiff or a faux hawk normally because I don't think slick styles are good for wavy hair.
hanz De fuko modify pomade
high shine, water soluble
and keeps your hair in place all day, it's also recombable
and a great smell
Got the same. Go for Claymation, it will give a really good hold but hard to wash out with just water so take some time. Don't get pomade it won't straighten the waves.
Wow, what great hair you've got! genius tips!! XOXO
Yet I was wondering how long your hair is all over, the sides, top, front and all because I want to style my hair like the way your hair is in this video!
robin james bro how long did it take you to grow your hair that long
most people's hair grows at about 1/2 an inch a month, and his hair looks to be about 6in long in the front (I could be a bit off). so do the math from there
So weird to see u without your iconic moustache hahahaha
I've got a question, do you wash your hair everyday? and if you don't do you just leave the product on or you some how remove it without washing it ?
washing it out with water....takes a little bit longer than some of other HDF products but not by much
If I would want to style my hair like a David Beckham style would claymation be good for my hair or would there be a better hanz de fuko product to use?
Can I use claymation and toppik hair concealer together?
Hi Robin can you do a product review on by Vilain dynamite clay please.
Thanks
10101samtheman Hey - thank you. I'll see what I can do for Modify Pomade. :D
I have thin hair and go for this hairstyle. Is this a good product to use? If not, then what is? Thanks
robin, i want to do a quiff but i want some type of product that will give me good hold with out using hairspray. i want it last throughout a schoolday and i also like to run my fingers through my hair. thanks
i’ve bought one online, but it doesn’t write “certified organic extracts” and “paraben free” would this be an issue with authenticity or anything?
I came from Fleur's vlog. Subscribed!
Hey Robin, what hairdryer do you use? Thanks :) xx
hello robin! how are you?. Have you ever heard of Uppercut deluxe pomade? Could you consider to tried it and review it maybe?
Guille Rumbos Hey - I've not, but I'll look out for it.
Great review, Robin!
Could you do a James Dean hairdo if you have spare time? Thanks!
I would like to see some more Vlogs from you, I really enjoy those videos,
What about hairspray? I don't think amount of product will keep a hold on fine hair. Can I add hairspray to achieve a hold?
hello robin :) great video! is it possible to use this as a prestyler? as in putting it in damp hair, blowdrying it and applying some more in the end to finish it off?
Thanks for the video robin:) was thinking of buying this product as I have really thick hair but am kinda put off by the price at the moment :/
Could you please show a slickback hairstyle?
Good job Robin love claymation
Hey love your vids! What would you recommend for someone who has really light and thin hair? Also, sometimes during my school day I have to change for gym or I take off my sweat shirt and the product leaves my hair and the volume goes away.
What kind of haircut does he have before putting any products in? Do you need a long fringe and the hair at the top to be thick for this?
He has a video called "Best men's Haircut" explaining the haircut he usually has and even though it is styled differently it doesn't mean that it can't be made into different hairstyles.
The front of his hair I can tell by looking at it would be around the end of his nose or around the middle of it. Thickness is genetics btw so it depends on what u already have on ur head
Love your hair wht oil u use in hair
Good and complete video, thanks !
would you say quicksand is the best product for a messy look for short undercut thick wavy-straight hair?
+J Kellan Hey - I'm not a massive fan of quicksand, but it should be fine. Volumising powder will work well or a light paste. 👌🏼
Robin James ok Thanks man :D
what is that round brush you used when you were using the hairdryer?
Hey Paul - it's this one: rstyle.me/n/cbbg8nb6ah7
every once in a while my hair will split down the middle as the day goes on, any tips to prevent this? (i already use claymation btw)
Hey Robin is the website MANKIND in your description legit? I saw some reviews on it and most of them are negative just want to make sure before it buy anything.
How often do you go for a haircut?
For me if I wait for 5 months I start to get dry ends and fly overs
What should I do?
It will thank you for cutting the split ends off and will be healthier than before.
thanks i will try this !! TeamDazu
Can you do a review of joico ice erratic molding clay ?
its $30 in Singapore. But I love this product a lot
hey, I just got this product the other day, but I found that it leaves a somewhat dandruff looking residue in my hair. I will generally use mousse and blow dry my hair before application. Am I using too much? Do I need to emulsify it more?
Was it still a big problem?
robin its been more than five days and my hanz de foku hasnt arrived yet. should i wait a bit longer or should i request a refund? and i brought it from brichbox
Hey there. I've never bought it from there unfortunately. If you're concerned, you should contact the company.
Robin James took me two an a half weeks. haha
Robin James also can i use hanz de foku as a prestyler and can i use a lot when using it as a prestyler and then putting murrys pomade after will it work or will it look strange? (:
ahhh this is out of topic question, but ahhh if i use this will this help me like cover a thin spot on my head?? i notice when im blow drying my hair it kinda covers it, but after 1 hour its visible T_T just wondering if this will hold it
Which of the HDF products gives you the most texture? I've got pretty thick hair so I need something to give texture
Hey - I don't use them all. Really only use Claymation.
You should review Uppercut Matt Clay!
What would you recommend for _SUPER_ thick hair? It's also insanely straight and I have soooo much of it. It's impossible to style. I've wasted so much money for useless products for so many years... getting desperate :D
Hey - if it's too thick to style, I'd recommend getting it thinned out. Will make it possibl to style. :D

Thank you!
