I met Tiny in the 80s at a music store I was working at and he was with a circus that came to town. He has a great voice for that old-time vibrato singing.
I remember a 1967 interview with The Who's Pete Townsend in Hit Parader magazine. Pete praised an obscure singer called Tiny Tim, who was performing at a Greenwich Village coffee house. Within a year, Tiny Tim was a household name.
So great to see you have your own channel! Ross, I think you stand alone as having some of the best and most prized interviews of any host on television. Great talent and so many great memories. I actually met Tiny Tim once back in the 80's. A very nice and cordial man who was very respectful and happy to speak with anyone who approached him. They don't make people like him anymore.
On your show, I remember there was a bit (or bits) where the crew "pranked" you in a deadly way, and you would grin, shake your head, and be like, "you guys.."
Seems a very good soul... Just didn't fit into any of the niches society has prefabbed for us. His religious views aside he had no harm in him just wanted to be recognised and loved as do we all.
He is not weird at all. Listen to him talk. What a nice charming person
I interviewed him on 3 shows and he was always a kind and intelligent man.

Great singer,underrated singer,thanks
Very underrated man he was also a big fan of the carter family music going back to 1927 :)
❤
Where did you hear that he was a fan of the Carter Family??
He was a vaudeville type singer who made it decades after vaudeville was popular.
He was born in 1932.
An amazing knowledge of old music. A true individual. Met him in the 1970s.
You nailed it. He had an encyclopedic memory for songs, movies, & poems. Remarkable!

Russ Columbo was a singer, actor and musician. Glad seagal was respectful to tiny.

Tony’s talent was undeniable. Even Seagal recognized that
Seems like he was a very kind man.
I found him to be a kind, gentle, and surprisingly talented entertainer RIP Tim

😂 I thought Tiny Tim was funny as hell when I was a kid!
His voice sounded different on that medley. He did not use the falsetto and it sounded good.
I think this song has the melody of "Rosamunde".......
I think you mean 20 years after he married Miss Vicky? They got hitched in 1969.
Tim, you are right. It was 20 years from when Tim and Vicky were married
@@RossShafer 10 years, 20 years, who's counting, right? It all feels like yesterday anyway :)
TINY TIM ETERNAL !!!!
💖💖💖💖💖
Okay I watched another interview and he acted completely different. He was in character. Didn't know that.
Which interview?
'70's?! Late, '60's.
What year was this broadcast?
July 1988
Gosh Ross...you were handsome when you were young
im sure you were too turkey neck!
I started out pretty young!

To put it politely, the interviewer is totally clueless.
Seems weird but a nice man.
А Стивен Сигал теперь русский))))))))))))))))) Умора))))))))))
Was Seagal a jerk? I still have to see the Tiny Tim documentary narrated by Weird Al.
