- It's been eight years since gunmen murdered Dan Markel, a Canadian-born law professor, in front of his Tallahassee, Florida home. Three people have been convicted of the murder-for-hire. Markel's former brother-in-law Charles Adelson has since been charged, too. The ex-wife has maintained she knew nothing about it, despite being in a bitter custody dispute before the killing. For Markel's distraught parents, Ruth and Phil Markel of Toronto, Canada, the ordeal has been a "rollercoaster" as they have fought for years to get justice for their dead son, and access to their two grandchildren. Now Ruth Markel has written about what it's been like behind the scenes. The book is called "The Unveiling". Ruth really is extraordinary, no wonder why Dan achieved so much in his short life. Those boys would benefit so much to have her influence and love.

This was an excellent interview. As a surviving sister of a murder victim, I relate to Ruth Markel in so many ways. May all the angels surround her and her family as they continue to navigate this system. I've pre-ordered her book.
My hope is for the Markel boys to be able to reconnect in a meaningful way with the Markel side of their family. What a strong family.

What a strong and inspiring woman. To manage the worst thing a mother can go through and use it to help others and to keep the memory of the incredible person that Dan was very much alive. All the while waiting with dignity for justice. I’m amazed.❤️🇨🇦

You should have full custody of Dan Markel kids. I am from Brazil n the cold blood murder of Dan Markel really irritates me. In the dictionary besides the word *psychopath should have a photo of Wendy Adelson* for full description of this malaise. When Ruth Markel said *you can move from grief to promisse* the tears flow over my face. The Markels are the description of nobleness, courage n love. But this is also a lesson to all of us. We all need to ask the question how to avoid rasing a narcisist? Wendy's Narcisism thinks like this: *It is my way of the highway. She chose the later n as result she might end up behind bars and a social reject.
May the Spirit of Love surround the Markel family while they find closure and in pursuit of justice for Dan!

I wish Mrs. Markel well, and hope the memory of her son Dan is a blessing. The hit men and the go between have been sentenced to life in prison, and Charlie Adelson goes on trial next year.

I am sadden by the tragic loss of your son. I just bought your book. I have followed YT true crime channels of the interrogation and trials of this crime. I pray for justice for Dan and that you are able to have a relationship with your grandsons. As a mother and grandmother, my heart goes out to all you have gone thru.

While all the fabulous people rallied around the Markel family with "Justice for Dan".....as any victim of these kinds of crimes knows...there is NO justice ......but it helps a little....to watch the perpetrators sent to prison.....and I hope everyone of the Adelson family involved goes to prison.

This poor family. If Wendi Adelson wasn’t involved, why cant she at least allow Dan’s parents to see their grandchildren after what the Adelsons did to Dan Markel and his family? She is creating so much suffering. Wendi is absolutely evil.

Some day the kids will find out about the crimes of their maternal family n grow to despise the Adelsons. One of the children look like Dan. I am sure at least one of the kids will be like Daniel Markel smart n inquisitive. As result they will gravitate towards their paternal family side. This tragedy is foolish n unecessary. I think Wendy hated Dan because he stand out, aparently narcisistis dislike when there is someone else in the room attracting more attention.
