Until today, we never discussed the pain that Dan's friends experience. They too were victimized in this tragic event and continue to experience great loss. So, thanks Joel and Karm for honoring Dan and his dear friends. Wishing Tamara and Jeffrey some semblance of peace while we wait for justice to prevail.
My birthday wish for Dan Markel on his birthday would be that every single person involved in cutting his life short be brought to justice so he can finally rest in peace.

All the pain we all go through that we can't prevent. Dan's murder was a premeditated death that caused pain for so many people. I wonder if any people have done picketing at the Adelsons as they did at the Laundrie's home in the Gabby Petitio murder investigation? It is something to think about. Happy Birthday Dan. I, too, am so sorry that they killed you and that we had to learn about your life this way. Your death touches so many because we understand how you had to suffer being with a woman like Wendi. Your love for the boys will eternally overshadow any ugly from Wendi ----that is for sure. xoxoxo

I think protesting was not a good choice of words, I think because ppl were in front of the Laundries started out trying to get Brian out of the house and trying to get info about the whereabouts of the missing girl ❤
I think Wendy as the only daughter was used to being coddled and the center of attention is her family. She married an excellent match. Harvard graduate, lawyer, published law professor, and handsome. I don’t think she could deal with the focus not being on her. Probably more so after she had the children. I think this is/was an emotionally immature and self centered woman. I think she may have tried to compete with Dan. She tried to publish a novel and then was upset that Dan didn’t read it, although he hyped her bad book to his colleagues. I think her statement “Danny, didn’t treat me very well” is telling. She’s trying to imply this was a bad marriage, Dan was abusive, but I’m a good person because I’m saying it in a nice way. You can almost imagine a mental wink-wink when she says that.
Correction: Judy @AALegalFocus stated below that Dan in fact had read her book!
I could not agree with you more. She was used to being the center of attention and Dan usurped it by being such a bright, accomplished man. He didn’t put her on the pedestal where she felt she rightly belonged.
She is, obviously, very bright, but her emotional intelligence is severely lacking, to say the least.
To Dan’s parents and family, I’m heartbroken for you.
To the hideous Adelson family, karma can’t come soon enough.
In Ruth Markel's book, she mentioned that a friend of Dan's told her Dan actually had read the book.

It is very difficult for me to understand how Ms. Adelson missed seeing her wonderful husband’s bright shining light. Shine on Professor Markel.
In Jewish heaven you are teaching many the power of understanding and the wisdom of kindness.
Wendi is worried about what Ben and Lincoln may have overheard in the years since Dan’s murder. There is no other reason to keep them away from the Markels. Wendi knows this makes her look like a spiteful ogre. She has had to balance ogre vs truth of her involvement.
The worst part of it all is her strategy may work. If Dan’s sons become indoctrinated, they may be unable to accept the truth of the plot surrounding their father’s murder. Look at Mike Williams’ daughter. She has nothing to do with Mike’s mother now and supports her imprisoned mother 100%.

I also believe that somewhere in Donna Sue's and Harvey's family line we might find horror stories somewhere. I have always questioned if they are working on the Nazi premise that "All Life is Cheap". They only value themselves. They appear to be deranged enough that you can suspect deep deep horror in the catacombs of their psyches.

How did selfish , self serving Wendy not get in trouble for stealing his kids that day?!!! And the furniture etc?!! He deserved much better than her throwing divorce papers on his bed in his absence-- what a hurtful move on her part. I can’t stand her.
Wendi's decision to strip the family home and leave the way she did with his boys I feel displays spiteful tones. One can only imagine the compounding trauma and grief Dan would have experienced.
Dan wasn't a mind reader and shouldn't have expected him to know of Wendi's prospective actions.
Though this damage caused wasn't enough for the Adelson's (excluding Robert) IMO.

It's not a solemn, sad, day to me. It's a wonderful day to be alive and celebrate the meaningfulness of Dan's contribution to the world. His death, while extremely painful for those who loved and knew him personally, has resulted in ppl from all walks of life, getting together to dialogue. Ruth's book, The Unveiling, has given voice to mothers everywhere. Too many moms have had their children murdered and not avenged. The Markels, Phil, Ruth, and Shelly, have taught me to do what is in front of me to do and to take one day at a time. Everything in God's time. Justice will come when it is supposed to. Yes, in their desire to erase him they immortalised him in the minds of many people worldwide as well as their own as they sit in their cold bare cells.
As for that witch Wendy. Although she has so far got away with this and I’m sure she takes pleasure in having thrown her family under the bus to save her own skin- She has forever stained her own image in the eyes of everyone else. I doubt she will ever have the peace she thought she was buying with that hit.
No mummy around to help with the kids and i doubt there’s a man alive who would take a chance with this black widow.

Divorce in general is difficult. What's happened in this case is horrific.
She just doesn't care about Danny's demise/murder which is telling when Wendi said "Divorce, in general, is difficult". They did not have an "in general' divorce, theirs ended up in murder. That is why I think Atty John Singer said she presented as a sociopath because of exactly how she answered her court testimony as if their end result ended normally. No Wendi: murder is not the norm for divorce. I have seen sociopaths/psychopaths lie. The reason I know it was a lie is I was party to the incident. When they lie it is demonic and scary to non-sociopaths. I concur with Atty Singer.
Wendi stated in the writer's workshop podcast about the pre-marriage concerns. Donna may have pressured Wendi into the marriage.

Good points Karm!! I think it’s important to have a critical look at both parties. Understanding the dynamics of Dan and Wendi’s relationship is key to learning. Cleary, issues of power and control were huge on both sides. Somebody needed to take a deep breath before reacting. In the end, familial narcissism won out. So sad….Dan ignored the signs.
I agree, relationships are never one-sided. But for Dan to see the signs he would have to understand what he would be looking for first. I don't think he understood the kind of personality type of his former wife.
If a family member of your partner is proud to be involved in crime like CA drug dealing n driving a police car, run. Dan ignored the red flags of Wendy being proud of CA unusual criminal behavior.

Just wish he had been the one to leave….and much sooner! Don’t think he wanted to deal with the ugliness of divorce; but, putting it off just gave more time for the pot to boil.

Dan’s friends obviously knew Wendi while she & Dan were married & raising the boys. Do Dan’s friends not want to have a conversation with Wendi to express the disgust they feel towards her? His friends must feel so angry. How do they have the patience to allow the slow wheels of Justice to turn?

Rob Adelson said that he has on two separate occasions, attempted to discuss Dan's murder with Wendi:
The first attempt was the day of Dan's murder, where Wendi called him to announce the news about Dan, expecting to leave a quick message on his voicemail , and was irritated when he instead, answered her call. She told him up front, that she can't talk in front of the kids or something like that and cut off the phone conversation. She only allowed Rob to ask the general question about "who do you think could have done this?"...to which she made a comment about Dan had no shortage of enemies...or Dan had no shortage of people who he has "pissed off".
The second attempt to mention it to Wendi, she immediately shut him down and stopped talking to him after that. As if he had been completely inappropriate, by wanting to discuss what had transpired with your brother in law, as he was at the hospital, literally fighting for his last few breaths of life.
If Wendi had been on the ball, she could have dramatically shortened her interview, which becomes more and more disingenuous on each successive view, to anyone who watches it. She could have collected extra points for herself by insisting that she wants to be there at the hospital for "Danny". As well as make a dramatic exit from the police interview room immediately upon hearing that he had been mortally wounded and may have only had minutes to live.
@@debbiemartin2026 I think it was the Wondery podcast, there was a short segment from some part of Rob's interview w them, Rob told the story about that day that Dan was murdered and his one other attempt says or weeks later when Wendy again was inscensed that he brought up Dan's murder again.
Yes, I think she messed up when she referred to her rude in police car, and somehow, Isom didn't catch it. And maybe the prosecutors did and are saving it for her trial.
it was probably a subconscious non reaction by Isom, although he subconsciously probably caught the incriminating statement by Wendy, he consciously didn't acknowledge it probably until after the interview, but it's hard to believe because he had about 6 hours to come back to her and go" about your statement of what you were thinking in the police car....." Because it was an alarming statement and from whatever experiences and information held in his subconscious, why may be unrelated to his work history, he was uncomfortable confronting her, maybe he sensed that she would freak out if she was backed into a corner, and wasn't able to overcome that, in this particular instance, despite his police training and experience. It's the only explanation for him not reacting to that blatantly obvious statement. It's amazing how our subconscious directs our behaviour and then in hindsight, you think "omg, why didn't I immediately ask her to elaborate!!!??"
It has happened to me with my sister, and I know it's because of my past history with her, that has interfered with my ability to confront her when she has done something blatantly underhanded. It's as if it's too overwhelming, or I was in disbelief or denial, and not capable of reacting rationally. To my own detriment. By the time I finally have confronted her, she completely denies it, (no matter that there's concrete evidence) even deniedwhat she has previously said.

As to Wendi's initial behavior at the police interview. Wendi's experience at FSU Law Clinic prepared her for law enforcement techniques and procedures.
At the last trial for Katie Magbanua Wendi claimed she has no criminal experience when she was asked by Attorney DeCoste ----right!!!! Yeah, she does. She is a criminal.
I'm of the opinion Wendi may not have been as prepared as you think:

- Wendi was picked up at a cafe by Law Enforcement within hours after Dan's murder
- taken to the Police station without being told what it was in regards to.
Named as an alleged co-conspirator, if Wendi already knew that the hit on Dan would have been complete, her possible mindset / thoughts during the drive:
- How did they find me and why me?
- OMG, do they know I am involved?
- Why did they bring me to the station, I was only expecting a phone call?
- Was the job done properly?
- Where is Dan now?
- Is Dan alive?
- Am I a suspect?
- Am I going to arrested?
- Did they arrest someone already?
- Did one of the other's flip already?
- *How can I get out of this?*
Imagine being picked up by Police without being told WHY! Most people would exhibit overt signs of stress, especially a law abiding citizen.
Wendi's co-conspirator possible self talk:
*"Whatever I do, just be cool so Police don't know that I know!"*
They arrive at the Police Station and Wendi appears "too cool for school", to the point she is not *demanding* the reason she is there? Red flag 🚩
Isom walks in, Wendi states "Um, I was just listened to my voicemail, um,... there was a shooting on Trescott... I'm sorry I didn't know if I should, I..." then responds to Isom's request to replaying the message "Sure". Wendi had so much time she uses "um" to fill her speech. Red flag 🚩
We *DON'T HEAR* :
"OMG I just heard there was a shooting on Trescott! What's happened? Is anyone hurt? Are Dan and my kids ok?"
Instead we hear cool as a cucumber Wendi (who we would expect to be highly stressed by this point due the the time lapse between being picked up and arriving at the station) apologise for using her phone and stating "Sure" after *KNOWING* there was a shooting on Trescott. Red flag 🚩
Within 8 minutes of the interview, Wendi is *smiling* about her blue eyes. Red Flag 🚩
Within 10 minutes she has started to victim blame. Red Flag 🚩
At 12 minutes she lies and said she didn't know of anyone who hated Dan (must have momentarily forgotten about her family). Red flag 🚩
At 16 minutes she offers Dan's girlfriend's ex-husband as a possible suspect.
At 20 minutes, Isom states "We have to find out why and who did this." Wendi is nodding indicating "Yes". When then asked if she will help Isom find out who did this, Wendi states "I will try" while shaking her head side to side indicating "No". Red flag 🚩
At 21 minutes, when requested to give permission to search her phone, Wendi tells Isom she is scared that one of her friends did this because of the way Dan treated her, implicating all her friends as possible suspects. Again, victim blaming. Red flags 🚩
Wendi then displays her "Hands to God", indicating stress is increasing, stating "Who would do this?". Look at me, I am totally innocent that I will stretch out my palms to God to prove it. Red flag 🚩
Wendi then discusses Chucky's the TV is cheaper than highering a hitman "joke", *implicating Chucky* as a possible suspect.
On 2 occasions, she states while *nodding* "He would never..." without finishing her sentence, indicating a need to distance herself from what occurred. We don't know what Chucky would never do unless she tells us. Was it too hard to say "organise the shooting of Dan which he may die from"?
She then advised her family would never do this even though they felt she was mistreated, introducing her family with a possible motive. Again, victim blaming. Red flags 🚩
At 23 minutes, Wendi again victim blames by stating Dan was litigious. Red flag 🚩
At 25 minutes, Wendi states her parents "dislike" Dan, *introducing another motive for her parents*. Red flag 🚩
Wendi then again displays her *"Hands to God"* several times stating "I do not know anyone angry enough with him to do something like this." Red flag 🚩
At 26 minutes, Wendi states that Chucky is a character, "accounted for" due to his busy timetable and having a girlfriend. Wendi *laughs* while discussing. Red flag 🚩
Wendi then again displays her *"Hands to God"* several times stating "Oh My God, I can't believe this is happening." Red flag 🚩
At 27 minutes:
Isom: "I have no reason, I have no reason to suspect you at this point."
Wendi: "I couldn't tell from the way you were talking to me in the car if I was a suspect"
Here Wendi tells us that she felt she was a possible suspect from the time she was in the car to this point. A suspect for something she shouldn't have any prior knowledge of? Yet, she was too cool for school. Red flag 🚩
At 28 minutes, Wendi asks "Is *he* still in the hospital?" (She doesn't use Dan's name, but requested later to Isom that he refer to Dan as Danny rather than Daniel as she felt it was "impersonal".) Red flag 🚩
It takes Wendi 28 minutes to verbalise any concern for Dan, *ONLY AFTER* being told she wasn't a current suspect. Red flag 🚩
Named co-conspirator Wendi possibly thinks: "Phew, he doesn't know I know. I'm not a suspect. Now I can act concerned".
During the previous 27 minutes, Wendi engages in victim blaming, offering up many suspects, motives and laughs. All red flags 🚩

Was Dan's only option to use the legal system because Wendi refused to engage in an adult discussions with him and kept referring him to her lawyer?
Remember, Wendi wasn't a class lecturer, but supervised students with actual clients. Thus, Wendi had personal contact with administrative agencies and law enforcement personnel. As to the comments concerning Wendi's police interview as yet she hasn't been indicted. I'm not stating your points are incorrect. Time will tell on the issue.
Isn't interesting that his friends wife called her husband when she saw Trescut drive sealed off with police activity. Prosecutor asked WA when she saw Trescut drive sealed off did she call Dan to check on him or the kids. No. It was his section of the of the neighborhood; his street and she had zero curiosity. However, a friend did. Very very telling.
This is the kind of thing you can’t explain away.. any parent understands.. immediately you text and say “something is happening on your street are you home?” No WAY you just are like “hmm must be a fallen tree” and drive off to the liquor store. It’s absurd and not believable under ANY circumstance. It’s not like she was even in a rush or had an appt. No response. Just calmly driving away to do her errand. Total psychopath.

Karm, you're a tough cookie and I truly admire your strength. My heart goes out to you, Danni's kids and anyone who lost their mother or father (or both parents) at a young age regardless of how they lost them. ❤️
The kids of DAN when they reach the age of 18 or adulthood will later KNOW THE REAL TRUTH what exactly happened to their father and WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS MURDER !
Them speaking on their first impression of Wendy tells me she's a true sociopath. Isn't that exactly how everyone described Ted Bundy?
Beautiful episode. What great friends they are and one day I hope Dans boys take Jeremy up on his offer to get to know Dan and how much he loved them because a piece of Dan will always live on through his children. He sounds like such a standup guy and I’m glad justice is getting served for him. IMO Wendi thought Dan checked all the boxes but wants this “magical passionate romance” (not realistic) because she was so fussed over by her family her whole life. It’s so sad to see how she has ruined her own life and so many others.
So Georgia needs to get with Tamara and hopefully Jeremy will grow a set, if need be, and testify to whatever he won't say on this show. This could be anyone of us and i would hope my friends would be my voice.

I truly hope Wendi gets indicted with Donna soon! The more I listen to Tamera and other friends of Wendi and Dan, the more I feel she knew exactly when and how Dan was to be murdered. It’s frightening to know the Adelson’s have had 10 years raising the boys.

You see the wife of his friend when saw the tape on Tresscot she was curious to call her husband to find out what’s happening. I would call too. But Wendi called no one. Georgia should bring this lady in when she prosecutes Wendi.
Well I perceive Wendi to be a narcissist, she was not happy with Dan because she had to give back or bend for the relationship, she was unwilling to compromise. She is entitled and is blinded by her narcissistic personality.
How could you live with the guilt? Doing this to someone. I can’t imagine taking my last breath, knowing I did this to someone.
I hope everyone who knew Dan Markel will write letters to his boys about Dan, and someday they can read them.

my life is so boring but thanks to dan markel i feel excitement again. I wonder how many people just love this markel crap. millions and millions.
I truly hope that If Dans and Wendi’s boys ever do get curious and look up information about this, that of all the coverage of this case, they watch this one episode. Because both of these friends spoke with such care and consideration. It really shows what a kind soul Dan was to have such thoughtful and heartfelt friends. Both were beyond classy in their responses . And the questions were good and respectful of the circumstances. I’m raised Catholic and am sure the boys have had prayers coming their way for years from all faiths. But I truly pray for the best for them in this incredibly heart breaking situation. They are growing up and if not already will be looking for themselves and soul searching here in the coming years. In ways they’ve lost their dad and moms family. It must be really hard for them .
This conversation has quality, as the speakers ring true. Not sensational, but thoughtful.

What an interesting comment Tamara made about Dan being the kind of guy to mix names up in a funny way. Wendi made a post on her fb about being 'not being a nerd' where she said: "Negatronsky" That was in 2019. She was still acting like him 5 yrs after he was murdered. That's weird.

I know... it was unnecessarily vicious. Wendi can't even admit that Dan had a right to know where the boys where that night she left with them. So dirty and cruel of her when Dan was not abusive to her or the boys, they just went in different directions in the marriage.

As to Karmela's comment that Dan wasn't prepared for a divorce. That seems to be an critical aspect of Dan's refusal to accept the marriage was at an end. How many marriages tragically disove in that way.

For those who complain about Karm + Joel’s interactions as being ‘tasteless’, ‘yelling’, or arguing-may be missing something important that has to do with how we communicate as jews-whether the camera is rolling or not. This type of criticism isn’t new. We were deemed to ‘uncouth’ to join many organizations in Los Angeles, even restricted from purchasing homes in areas like Pasadena where the old storied families who founded this area lived. That’s how Miracle Mile came to be-we took our loud, obnoxious, tasteless, and uncouth selves west of downtown. Karm is a wise + eloquent woman who has lived on this planet longer than most people commenting on these posts. She is also a survivor of one of the history’s greatest atrocities. She’s allowed to be disagreeable at times. And the premise of this show is about her and her son interviewing people-its not the Today show. There are plenty of options out there-you can find what fits your style. There is a woman who crafts while discussing the Dan Markel show; another who puts on make up while going through the details….there’s something for everyone. If this isn’t for you….that doesn’t mean its the best idea to offer critique about its ‘style’. Just move on….the crafting + dan Markel case might be just right. You never know.
