  • Welcome to another episode of Surviving The Survivor, the podcast that brings you the #BestGuests in all of true crime.
In this episode, Surviving The Survivor Host Joel Waldman talks to Hygienest "KaCee" about what Charlie Adelson was really like.
Charlie Adelson was convicted to life in prison without parole for the murder of his ex brother-in-law, Dan Markel. Dan Markel was a divorced FSU professor who was dealing with custody issues with his ex-wife, Wendi Adelson (Charlie's sister), when Dan was shot and killed. It was a murder for hire. Now that Charlie Adelson and Donna Adelson (Wendi's mother) are both behind bars, former friends and colleagues are coming forward to share their stories.

@@rumin528It was said that Charlie was not a good student of dentistry he didn't do his course work or his homework or anything in school. And he couldn't pass the license board but his daddy knew somebody on the board and they just went ahead and passed him. I guess his daddy took him on his way and told him it didn't work!!
I too have a jaw and nerve damage from a bad dentist in 1995, trying to remove an impacted wisdom tooth. Never seen a dentist that had to stand on the chair I was sitting in in order to remove my impacted wisdom tooth. Would not put me to sleep or give me any gas, just numbed it like he was pulling a regular tooth. Blood was everywhere and it traumatized my 5-year-old at the time.
Because he had a ski trip he was supposed to go to and would not send me to an oral surgeon he wanted to make the money himself. Yes he was telling you this all the time I was there. I should have sued!!

I've been following cases, trials and true crime since Oj so I'm not new to this genre. The thing that drew me to this case was the great father that Dan was. As a single parent it would've been a dream of mine to have a father like Dan for my child. So sad for his boys. Their own mother robbed them of such a great influence. I enjoyed hearing a first-hand account of Charlie's behavior in a professional setting. This lady is no-nonsense and absolutely believable. I'm not surprised at his behavior toward all the other employees in the office, but his behavior toward that 14-year-old boy was child abuse. I can assure you that we would have taken action against Charlie if that was our son. This interview was very enlightening, and I hope she has convinced any of he Charlie supporters that may be on the fence. I wish K.C. all the best.

How Doctor's Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Criminalogilists are appreciating these last few episodes, is invaluable. It is for me.

KC, as s Psychologist, Charlie's romantic, intimate relationships. These girlfriend's aren't the most academic, intellectual gal's. From much lower social/economical circles. And these people ate it up, connections, monetarily, prestige. Charlie was adored, unreasonably, blindly, by the social company he chose to keep. People of his level of education, socially, dont fine him as a Maestro, and more buffoon-like. Agree?

From someone with 16 tooth implants, thank you KC.
You said probably THE most IMPORTANT point in the “emotionality factor” in the equation that equals Dan Markel’s brutal murder. Wendi, Charlie nor Donna was shocked, stunned, frightened, or crazed into pulling a gun and shooting a family member IN THE HEATED EMOTIONS OF THE MOMENT. Understandable murder: Some guy walks in on his partner in a serious amorous position(y/t friendly) with his best friend, he pulls out a gun and shoots them dead. Not understandable murder: paying someone to kill a person that you don’t like or is a nuisance… with plenty of time and many times available to change your mind.

My son had a panic attack when his dentist tried to extract a molar, because he was not an oral surgeon, the patient does not get put to sleep. our dentist is our friend, and was kind and helpful and stopped immediately and said we need to get you to the oral surgeon. what a horrible situation, it really says everything about Charlie on every level.
