Wish it was like that all year here! But if it was, we'd have triple the population we already do! I was born in Scottsdale and still live in the valley, but I do not know how many more summers I can take!
I was born at what was then called "Scottsdale Memorial Hospital" just a few blocks east of where you were filming back in 1977. Lived in Scottsdale until 2006, lots of changes in all those years and since!
Nice video! We were just there 2 days before you... fell in love with a mirror in the Gilbert Ortega Store ..hoping they still have it next week when we move!
We were up there a few weeks ago. Beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the day. We hit up that Sugar Bowl spot for some root beer floats and read all the Family Circle comics on the walls.
Hi, Jeff! Love your videos! It would be amazing to see a tour of the area near Nordstrom/the river section. I'm for Chicago and would like to move there one day! Thanks again!!!
I’m from Chicago to I made the mistake of moving there Six years ago. Don’t do it you won’t like the people there rude and arrogant. Honestly nothing like people from Chicago you won’t like it. I had to move back, I literally couldn’t stand it anymore.
Been watching your Arizona and Austin videos.... how come Arizona seems completely desolate?? Seems like beautiful weather and all of the nice areas have 0 people. Austin was packed with people throughout the city.
Thank you Jeff. So 6th Avenue is in New Town ? If so, I’ll have to change my business cards. If I can make a little suggestion, slow down and take in the moment, show a little more of the stores. We’ve got to get you something to keep the camera steady. Christmas is around the corner so your fans will make that happen!
In Scottsdale the avenues run east to west. In this video yes I was in a hurry because I had a meeting at 6 and I was filming this before the meeting :)
Getting close to our mid 50s and starting to think about wintering in AZ. I’d love to move there but hubby is an engineer for automotive industry here in Michigan and it doesn’t seem like AZ has jobs in that field for him. I told him he needs to change careers, lol. Looking for a fun active affordable 55+ condo community that is affordable. Suggestions anyone??
Mary, we are the same. My husband made a career change in his 50's and is working for a company that has offices in Tempe. We will be moving in about a year and a half.
FitB4IGetOld awesome. Great for you guys. My daughter is beginning travel nursing in two weeks. I’m driving her out there and then flying home. Will have a few days there before I have to leave. I know I won’t want to leave. Lol
Mary, hope you enjoy your trip. If you have time, check out several areas to see the differences between downtown Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, Gilbert, and those in the west valley. There are retirement communities at several prices depending on what you're looking for including year round or winter. Also consider renting one winter instead of buying since there are houses, condos, and park model homes (fancy trailers). I know a few people who like spending winter at some Cal Am properties. Those have a lot of onsite programming for all ages of seniors all winter. Keep in mind there is an annual lot fee for anyone who owns their RV or park model, which is why it is a good idea to visit and rent one short term before making a bigger financial commitment. Just know there's something for everyone in the valley, so seek out your interests and find a community that offers that.
Susan Conklu great info. Thx so much. Yes, I want an active friendly community with people who love to socialize, bike, hike golf and throw back a few drinks and talk and laugh a lot. Looking for paradise I guess, Lolol
A Commentator Hey good news, last senate vote. Sinema a democrat beat Mcsally so that tells you more than half of Arizonians are democrats and this state has gone from a fairly conservative state to a 50/50 state. Seeing the trend? Maybe Tuscaloosa, Alabama is a better place for you conservative folks, cheers!

Many memories . I worked with my folks and friends on first street around the blocks. 1980s early. Loved it
I'm older, so not having a crowd all day long is great. I leave the nightlife to the young ones. Thanks.
True that. It's douchebag fake
We love Scottsdale, can walk around at anytime day/night and enjoy the area.
Scottsdale is one of the best cities to live in all of America.

Karen Randles thanks Karen. Hope you find a comfortable place in Scottsdale.
Patty's is a cool little dive bar. Convenient if you're staying at the Saguaro.
This is great!!

Ha! Imagine a ghetto. That would be Tucson and its state of mind. Very poor.

I lived at Maya condos for awhile. Very nice, 2 bedrooms asking price is $269,900
Not much "low income" going on in Scottsdale.

Make sure to vote conservative when you move here otherwise it will end up just like California.
