Man do you have ideas. It seems to me that all your DIY’s are a hit out of the park.
I appreciate the kind words
@@KaizenDIYGymman this is an awesome idea. What is the length of that 2x4?
@@Alejandro218 woodworker here, I would prob use a 4x4 for added strength, that 2x4 will most likely snap at some point, in fact you can see it bend on the video, metal is prob the best way to go but 4x4 are pretty sturdy if you want wood
Provide layout
Nice! My Valor cable tower is going strong even though I've upgraded pretty much everything in my gym. It's a tremendous value!
Totally agree!
I guess i know what I'm doing on vacation now lol
I was actually thinking about doing something like this with my Smith / pulley machine. Then all I'll have to do is raise or lower the bar to the preferred height.
I’d love to see that
Titan - option b attach the 2x4 or a 2x6 to the ceiling
Thanks Kaizen. This was really helpful. I used a 4x4 for stability and got the climbing rope like you mentioned. Works like a charm
Awesome!
Thank you for this one. Not sure why I didn't think of this myself. 💪💪💪💪
Dang this is genius. Building the garage gym and wondered about getting two of these for cable flys. I'll do this instead
Awesome, glad you like it!
Genius! Thanks for posting this!
Awesome, glad you like it!
Damn I bought 2 to be able to do this! Still don't regret it as I still like to have two so I won't have to readjust that much. But this is great innovation. I'll add it to at least one. Thanks
Thanks bro! Two towers is definitely superior
What an awesome idea! Thanks mate!
You're the man 🎉
That's an amazing idea. I have an old Mirafit M2 station. It has the cable machine bolted in as a powerful accessory, but unfortunately it's a single cable. Not dual. Not sure I could design a system like yours to make it work.
It is possible. The two ropes would just connect to the single. I did that in a different video with the lat tower on my Rep rack.
belt squat is crazy
love it
Thank you! Here’s the full tutorial: ruclips.net/video/t-L3--tUqDA/видео.html
I commented on your first video but I actually like this idea more with the U clips because then you don’t have to set anything up. Just run the cable to the pulley which takes 3 minutes to un bolt and re bolt
Awesome strongly appreciate your smartness
Thank you kindly
Cool. Very cool.
What I did was purchase 2 and made it a basic Cable Crossover Machine/Functional Trainer.
I put them 8 feet apart in the corner of my basement gym. Wish RUclips would allow me to post a pic. I was going to add a Pullup bar. But bc of the machines screwed into wall beams. I don't trust that they could handle my weight.
I did notice on your pulley tower that the feet are different in the beginning and different stock feet in the end of your video.
Anyway. Excellent Job.
I originally had my Tower cable hooked up to other pulleys on my 9 1/2 ceiling. To give me the full wider range of motion.
I love seeing People show a machines real capacity. Idky Titan Fitness never made added attachments to do what you did.
#Brilliant !!!
Thank You.
I apologize. I wasn't paying attention to you saying the "Bell Tower."
It's a bell tower but this diy attachment can definitely work on the Titan. Only sits at the front. Plus the newer version of the Titan is way better than bells. Both pulley rods are like the front. Only bad.. Threaded bolts on pulleys, I'd replace with smooth bolts before the thread, don't know what they're called.
And he shows the new version and his attachment works even better on the Titan. Come on man, were you paying attention!
May I know what size "U Bolts" you are using for the 2x4 please?
I'm also considering drilling a few holes on either my Titan Fitness or Valor Fitness pulley tower.
To save space by selling one of my pulley towers.
The Valor Fitness weight capacity says maximum 200lbs
The Titan Fitness pulley tower says 325lb maximum weight capacity I believe.
I think I like the Valor Fitness machine better. Because it has 2 guide rods to hold the weight cradle. The Titan Fitness newer version has a single Square guide rod.
I don't know how Titan Fitness machine can hold more than the Valor Fitness machine? When Valor Fitness machine is much more solid.
I wish I heard of the "Bells of Steel" pulley tower that you have. I would have purchased the one instead of the ones I have.
And does your machine feel smoother since you change the pulley wheels to Aluminum Pulley Wheels?
I did it to my pulley tower. But it wobbles on the top. Have to either secure it better?
Or just buy a Cable Crossover Machine or Functional Trainer Machine.
Body solid has a decent single weight stack functional training machine for around $700.00
Glad it worked for you.
I used to use 2 pulley Towers for cable crossover.
And before that. I had 2 Swivel pulleys on my ceiling around 10ft high.
But the weights would sometimes sway. I didn't trust it. In case they smashed into my wall.
I did that by running a 4x4 across the rafters in my shed. I have the cross over flies, cable curl and tricep cable extension
Love the diy + the workout combination
Awesome! Welcome to my channel. Lots of DIY + workout combo videos
Waiting for the second collaboration to produce a commercial product for sale for
This!
I’m hoping to partner up with someone soon to turn these add ons (plus a pulley tower) into sellable products. Had a call this morning. It might be in the works shortly.
@@KaizenDIYGym I figured it’d be coming. Something like this is too good of an opportunity, especially for people on a space saving side.
Dood love your channel… super creative!!
Thanks so much!
I love your content!
Thank you so much! I love doing this stuff
I’m wondering what pulleys you’d recommend? I’ve watched your video on making a cable system and it looks like the ones you’re using here are the $19.99 ones you mention but wanted to see if you have something else that you’d recommend or if that’s you’re go to. Thanks for all the great videos!
I bought a ton of pulleys for my pulley review video and I use a lot of them interchangeably. These 3” black ones get the job done just fine
Saving this for when I will have the space to do this!!!
Awesome, it still works great
Excellent ideas, engineer for sure!!
Thank you!
I love this!
Thanks bro!
more titan tower hacks please.. Don't forget about them with your new shiny BOS tower lol.
Yeah, adding attachments to Titan is definitely more of a challenge
cute. I recently set up one of these in the basement. It seems to offer a bunch of possible uses.
Awesome! The wall mounted towers are my favorite home gym accessories!
Hi! Going to try this! Did you buy this rope with that length or cut it down and customize it to fit the machine?
I cut it. ruclips.net/video/ijeWGa0eBv4/видео.html
Hey Kaizen, any Hacks for a leg support to use on a adjustable bench when doing a lat pull down on this titan ?
What are your thoughts on drilling holes through the back of the upright for bolting in diy attachments? I'm no engineer but I can't imagine a few more holes would affect the overall strength of the pulley tower.
Wow that can be a skier machine to huh
I hadn’t thought of that. Great idea!
I love the wall mounted tower. Does anyone have info on building my own versatile 'rack' with pulleys?
How long is the board you’re using
40” but you can go longer too
can you do it on the titan LAT tower
This is smart, what do you think the weight limit is on that 2x4 ?
Thanks! I know there’s a mathematical way to figure that out but I ended up just reinforcing the 2x4 so I know it’s plenty strong now.
What size u bolts and holes? Definitely making this asap
Good question, I think the u bolts are 4 inches wide & 5 inches long, maybe 3/8” thick.
@@KaizenDIYGymthanks! What are the yellow pieces on the climbing rope?
Hi im struggling to source the parts , can i have links to the bits you used please? Great vid got a subscribe from me 👍🏻
I have more in depth info in this video with links: ruclips.net/video/BEPVXShJJ9I/видео.html
What would you say is the best length for a board like that? So its long enough that the cables aren’t rubbing against the arms, but not so long that it’s inconvenient
Should have made it out of metal square tube it will be stronger and be able to handle more weight. That pine 2x4 won’t put up with a lot of weight before it breaks in half.
It’s been almost a year. Still holding up fine. I’ll probably reinforce it at some point but right now it’s not needed.
@@KaizenDIYGym it all depends on the amount of weight that you use. I don’t see it going past 100 pounds. But I could be wrong.
which pulley system do you have?
bro i asked you for this a month or 2 ago and you made a video on it :D
Did this when you told me to try using U-bolts and it worked. Have to move the lumber in the middle for chest flies, but having a drill/impact nearby with a socket driver, it's pretty quick. did not think about adding a 2x4 on top of the tower and now I'm definitely going to mount a 2x4 on top of it.
Thanks for the idea!
@@KaizenDIYGym
All Good haha. You really help us out. You should show us how to build a incline bench or a bench in general. I know there are plenty of vids out there on that. But I like to see your take on it!
Is that also a diy box you're standing on? Doesn't look complicated to make but still, is it?
ruclips.net/video/t-L3--tUqDA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/3wm8EXJbm6g/видео.html
I just bought my Titan cable tower and it looks like they’ve added holes to the back of the post. I’m thinking of attaching a wooden board behind the trolley that holds the handles with U-bolts since it seems like there is enough space between the trolley and cable to do so. That way the board moves with the handle trolley.
Awesome. I’d love to see how that turns out!
how do you attach the 2x4 to the trolley? please share pics if possible
@@amsterbyu I think a 2x4 may be too thick to fit behind it, but a thinner board that is reinforced with a metal bar/piece should do the trick. I’ll update once it’s done.
What’s the length of the rope to use for the pulleys and the belt squat?
ruclips.net/video/ijeWGa0eBv4/видео.html I recommend watching this video, decided what you want to use, and then cut it to the length that works for you. Everyone will be different based on height, dimensions, and space restrictions
Anyone figured a way to attach the 2x4 to the trolley?
Do you make custom stuff for anyone? If I sent you specs and pics of the cheap rack I have could make something for it? How much would it cost if so?
Nope, I just make stuff for myself and post the tutorials here on RUclips. Occasionally I get manufacturers who want to make steel versions of my stuff and we sell those.
Does the 2×4 tend to shift side to side with the gap there is between the tower and board?
No, I’ve got the u-bolt tight enough so there’s no movement
Will this work on the rouge monster rack!?
I could make it work
Shouldnt be too hard to drill through the titan tower to the back side either.
I noticed that you didnt use rope on your BOS cable flies video and were able to run the BOS cables through your pulleys but you had to use a rope on this Titan version. Any particular reason why? I have a titan and wondering if the existing cable length will work.
Yes, adding the rope increases the range of motion
@@KaizenDIYGym thanks! Also, did you see any issues with using 2 x 4 instead of aluminum tubing? Does the 2x4 feel sturdy enough? or do you suggest using aluminum tubing instead? wood is definitely much easier to work with
I wonder how difficult it would be to add something else up there to also act as a lat pull down?
If you’re on instagram, find me and I’ll send you a link to the post doing it. Works well!
@@KaizenDIYGym I will. I'm always checking your insta posts too :) (Stalker Alert!) lol
Which is better Titan or Bells of Steel? I can't decide lol
Bells 100% www.bellsofsteel.us/#a_aid=Kaizen
What would be the max weight recommendation for the pulley in this format please?
Thinking the 2 x 4 would be ok for weight load up to a certain point?
Any educated estimates?
180lbs? More/less?
Thanks
Great question, I found this article: weekendbuilds.com/how-much-weight-can-a-2x4-hold/ “A 2×4 can hold around 1000 pounds vertically because the weight is not against the grain. Horizontally, a 2×4 can hold a uniform load somewhere between 20 and 40 pounds per linear foot depending on many factors like species, grade, load, and span.”
@@KaizenDIYGym excellent, thank you for this.
How about power tech tower?
I’m not sure, I haven’t used one
Can you make a chest krusher?
I’ll look into it
Sooo is a collab on this coming soon? Lol
I am ready for Titan to hit me up
What is the benefit of pulleys set so low when doing cable cross high? Isn't better to put them below wooden part so you dont neeed extra rope? Tnx (asking because my tower is coming soon 😊)
You’ll need extra rope regardless, that’s the only way to get full range of motion
@@KaizenDIYGym tnx 💪
HI Kaizen. How long did you make the 2x4?
Mine is 40” but you can go longer or shorter
@@KaizenDIYGym Thanks!
Anyone have a link to that belt squat setup?
ruclips.net/video/3wm8EXJbm6g/видео.html
Doesn't that many pullys decrease the weight alot? There are like 4 pullys
No. The sheer number of pulleys doesn’t make a difference. It’s whether or not the pulleys move with the weight. There are lots of videos on RUclips that explain it better than I am right now.
Where can I buy those aluminum pulleys?
amzn.to/3QAbieP these are what I used. Here’s a video about it: ruclips.net/video/0W2CHBVgVrY/видео.html
@Kaizen is it possible to do same on the BOS tower? i'm debating to buy 2 vs 1 as i feel like cable chest flys feel awkward with just 1 and this option rectifies that issue
Yes, I have a short demonstrating this on the BOS tower
@@KaizenDIYGym I mean on the top like titan tower? I watched the one where you attach to the face ☺. Asking this because from pictures I see the pulleys on bos are much closer to the front of tower than titan
Hi what rope did you use? So i need u hooks/bolts a piece of 4x2 , 2 pulleys , anything else? Thanks
I cover ropes in this video: ruclips.net/video/ijeWGa0eBv4/видео.html
What length of rope did you get?
You can do that in a single pulley system?
Possibly but it wouldn’t work as well
Which size titan tower is this? Tall or short?
Short
Is there a way to run this setup and have a low to high double pulley?
Yes, absolutely. I haven’t done it yet but it wouldn’t be much more work
@@KaizenDIYGym awesome thanks Kyle, will keep an eye out for this and have a think about it myself.
If I could get both on the one setup it would be tremendous.
Hi, do you think it is possible use the titan pulley tower without attaching it to the wall? Thanks in advance .
I don't think so
@@KaizenDIYGym okay great, thank you for getting back to me, I appreciate your videos, they are very informative and creative.
You could drill holes on each leg stand (obviously use the appropriate anchors, concrete, use concrete anchors etc.)then put at least a 25lb plate on each leg.
@@leonflores2933 hi, I am trying to avoid drilling at all cost.
those 2x4 will break and you wil go flying to the ground head first 😂
That'll make for a great viral video
That wood will snap eventually
It’s been a year since I posted this video. The wood did not snap in that time. However, I had the same concern as you and recently reinforced the 2x4. No snapping will occur while I’m in charge.
Anyone drill holes on their titan tower? lol
I wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t think the tower can handle it.
Just drill a hole through the other side duh!
I’d prefer not to compromise the structural integrity of the tower but you’re welcome to do whatever you want on yours.
So let's say you want to do this for regular lat pull-downs. So I would U-bolt the 2X4 right over the top mainstay of my Titan Functional tower. Should I just put 1 pulley in the 2X4 or extend 2X4 out enough to put two pulleys?. This is how most lat pull-down pulleys are placed.
I haven’t done it yet. If it were me I’d try both and see which one feels better.
*PromoSM* 🎊
Save your money for a better system. I’m not drilling anything for $200
I love that for you
You are miraculous❤
Thank you!
