      Seriously. I’ll never forget rich hill’s game against the pirates. He had a perfect game in the ninth then Justin turned bobbled an easy grounder and got an error to end that before they walked it off with the homer in the 10th

    1. Joe Mauer is the ultimate spoiler
    2. Yu Darvish is cursed
    3. Rangers are not allowed to throw a no hitter
    4. Rich Hill is the ultimate saint for not killing all his teammates for not scoring one freaking run.

      I was thinking the same thing. In a few of these all it would have taken is that *_little_* extra effort from the fielder. I mean, I would personally attempt some diving catches to help contribute to my teammate's perfect game.. but that's just me, I guess. Shoutouts to the ones that *_do_* try to go above and beyond here.

    Remember the Rich Hill no hitter. That's gonna be the first and last time most of us will see a pitcher start the game in the first, and throw a pitch in the 10th.

      @Jason O'Daniel You're getting awfully aggressive over a subject of starters pitching into extra innings. And I know there are great relief pitchers before 1969 when saves started to be recorded. I'm not stupid. Roy Face, and Stu Miller are 2 I can think of right now.

      @@calebos268 *Martinez once deliberately threw at and hit someone when he had a perfect game going. Not sure if it was the same game or not. I don't believe it was, because if I remember correctly, he was tossed from the game after that. Then again, I might be blending memories together.*

    Yu also once had a perfect game going pretty late and QuesTec called it strike 3 and the ump called it a ball and that led to Darvish losing his no hitter and perfect game.

    I think those pitchers hate Mauer even more. Great player. Everytime they got him out probably were shaking. He gets up to end no hitter. I bet they wish they walked him lol

    I was at the game where David Ortiz broke up the Darvish no hitter. If the rangers don’t have the shift on IMO that is an easy out but that stupid shift robbed it

      You’re right. A normal defensive alignment and that’s a routine grounder for the second baseman. It was this game that made me hate defensive shifts.

    That last one. OOF something similar happened to me in MLB the show 21 a few days after it launched. I had pitched a perfect 9 innings then lost in the 10th on a walkoff hit(due to baserunner starting on second) so lost the perfect game and the no hitter and was the losing pitcher.

      @@blakemortellaro I know that. My point is that the first baseman having to throw to the pitcher who is a moving target is a much more difficult play than the 2nd baseman throwing to first with the first baseman already set up at the bag.

    2 things for sure:
    1) If you last batter is Mauer you won't throw a No-No.
    2) You can't throw a no hitter against Boston Red Sox neither...

    Also that Mazara play is a tough play, but 90% of professional outfielders make that catch. That's an error. I would've caught it. I think there's a high percentage of skilled high school kids that would get to that ball and hang on. Its a TOUGH play and a TOUGH error but you're in the bigs dude the ball was in your glove.....catch it

    MLB really has to very publicly give Gallaraga credit for his perfect game. No asterisk no nothing. Perfect game. Because it was. That way 100 years from now it just says he threw a perfect game and the details dont matter because its the correct thing to do. MLB has to figure it out soon because the sport is dying. Too old-fashioned and set in its ways. Adapt change get better

    Mlb needs to put an asterisk in the Gallaraga game and give him the perfect game. He got the final out to end the game perfectly. It's not like it was the second to last out and you can argue that maybe he wouldn't have gotten the last out even if the out before was called correctly. Had the call been correct, the game is over and the perfect game is there. It just really sucks that such a beautiful performance was robbed

    1 of them was a perfect game!
