I was thinking the same thing. In a few of these all it would have taken is that *_little_* extra effort from the fielder. I mean, I would personally attempt some diving catches to help contribute to my teammate's perfect game.. but that's just me, I guess. Shoutouts to the ones that *_do_* try to go above and beyond here.

That last one. OOF something similar happened to me in MLB the show 21 a few days after it launched. I had pitched a perfect 9 innings then lost in the 10th on a walkoff hit(due to baserunner starting on second) so lost the perfect game and the no hitter and was the losing pitcher.

Watched the Rays @ A’s a few days ago. Sean Manea lost a no hitter in the 8th. If he didn’t lose it, that would have been 2 no hitters in the same night. (Wade Miley threw one that night)
Also that Mazara play is a tough play, but 90% of professional outfielders make that catch. That's an error. I would've caught it. I think there's a high percentage of skilled high school kids that would get to that ball and hang on. Its a TOUGH play and a TOUGH error but you're in the bigs dude the ball was in your glove.....catch it
MLB really has to very publicly give Gallaraga credit for his perfect game. No asterisk no nothing. Perfect game. Because it was. That way 100 years from now it just says he threw a perfect game and the details dont matter because its the correct thing to do. MLB has to figure it out soon because the sport is dying. Too old-fashioned and set in its ways. Adapt change get better
Mlb needs to put an asterisk in the Gallaraga game and give him the perfect game. He got the final out to end the game perfectly. It's not like it was the second to last out and you can argue that maybe he wouldn't have gotten the last out even if the out before was called correctly. Had the call been correct, the game is over and the perfect game is there. It just really sucks that such a beautiful performance was robbed
If Armando Galarraga had completed the perfect game no one would remember his short underwhelming career. But now we'll never forget him and how classy he was after.

You’re right. A normal defensive alignment and that’s a routine grounder for the second baseman. It was this game that made me hate defensive shifts.

2 things for sure:
1) If you last batter is Mauer you won't throw a No-No.
2) You can't throw a no hitter against Boston Red Sox neither...
