When they play this live, it shifts from being a guitar focus song (as in the mv) to being an Earth shaking bass & drum song with guitar as frosting on the cake 🥰. This song is a beautiful monster to experience live.
This is an example of this supergroup strutting their stuff..... everyone in that group is a frickin superstar, even if the bassist and vocalist only became famous as members of this group, they have rapidly become legends along with their bandmates who were already legendary metal superstars.
Love that stuttering drum breakdown and the guitars that follow it. Great song (Adabana is any flower which doesn't bear fruit but probably used here more in its other form, which is as a metaphor for something that is meaningless or fails to meet its fullest potential). The vocalist, Mayu, is wearing a very flowing garment to cover her bump as she was 5 months pregnant when they shot this. Try 'Raitei', 'Oiran', 'Style', 'Sorai' or 'Life' for starters if you're looking for more.
Nemophila's *Hypnosis* is a heavy drum driven song. This song is why *Adabana* worked very well. Since both *Adabana* & *Hypnosis* wasn't relying on the drums (Tamu) keeping time. But it was the bass (Haraguchi-san) keeping everyone on time.
This is my favorite song from 2022 and it is still so satisfying to listen to even after probably over 100 listens. I also was fortunate enough to see them live in March and they put on a brutal kick ass show.
SAKI's cab is a Marshall Custom Shop Tattoo Series 1960A. Her guitar is her signature Killer Guitars KG-Fasciator Seven 'The Empress'. These women's gear is nearly as cool as their playing.
Don't worry about running out of original music from Nemophila, they have 2 albums plus of music and a ton of covers! For a different sound, try "Style", "Hypnosis" "Night Flight" , "Life" and "Now I Here".
A few great songs that highlight the bass more: Fighter, Life, Style, Rollin' Rollin', and the instrumental medley they play live (lots of fancams are available of that)
Reacciónar a Fairy y Kurenai ambas canciones con Nemophila (Kurenai sólo Saki y Hazuki, guitarristas) Gambling, Shooting Star, JAM, Emotion, Look at Me, Genkai Lovers, One Way Heart, Battle Express, I'am Storm, etc, etc
Okay , after a long time on fence about these girls , with this song I am in now. The heavy spacious groove is so powerful. drumming is insane up there with the best. Is Hazu in this clip,i cant tell.?
Mayu explained it better in an interview. Adabana is a flowering weed. The metaphor is even if we are weeds, if we live our life with strength of purpose we we are beautiful
Tamu Murata is one of the most respected session drummers in Tokyo. She has played in projects ranging from Pop, Jazz, Prog-Metal and Rock. She also does music for digital media like anime and video games. She's a drum instructor and has also hosted a drum based program. She is a multi-instrumentalist, and plays; classical piano, xylophone, guitar, bass and jazz saxophone. Along with Nao, her other drumming influences are Mike Portnoy, Aric Improta, Charlie Benante and Dave Lombardo. Her personal YT page has ton's of content with "drum cam" views of her playing in different projects, including drum cam views of the Nemophila rehearsal videos. She's a crazy talented drummer and I can link you up with some translated videos of her talking about her approach to drumming if you're ever interested. This is her personal YT Channel. Its all in Japanese, but she has some great drum cam content www.youtube.com/@user-sr3rv1iu1r I'd recommend this music video performance by a popular Japanese pop group Wasuta where Tamu is part of their touring band Nekonote ruclips.net/video/Rsap-DPZjxI/видео.html Its a girl group pop band but Tamu adds flavor to this song. Also on her channel there's a jazzy take to Lisa's "Gurenge" from Demon Slayer and also some X-Japan performances worth watching that all show her versatility as a drummer.
Love your Nemophila coverage. I’d like to suggest a few covers for you. If you like twin guitars, then check out their cover of Iron Maiden’s Trooper. This was my “gateway drug” to the band. The have a good cover of System of a Down’s Sugar. And their Limp Biscuit cover of Stuck is totally different form everything. Their cover of Walk by the Foo Fighters is fun. I LOVE their version of Die Die my Darling. And last is a unique take of the Minion cartoon Banana song which is hilarious
Hi guys. I'd love if you'd do their live-session version of "Oiran" ruclips.net/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/видео.html. I like this one (over the official live) b/c you get to see Tamu's drum work, hear Mayu's vocal vibrato in addition to her screams and regular (beautiful) cleans - and in general see just how much damn fun they have as a group!
This band is made up of an all star cast of well known Japanese female metal artist. the 2 guitarist are very famous in Japan. Check out Herman LI's (DragonForce) interview with Saki and then you'll know why I love this band !!!!!! She is so cool and sexy !!!!!!!
Nice to meet you♫ Thank you for finding the Japanese girl heavy metal band NEMOPHILA ♫ I'm very happy👍 However, many Japanese people don't like the style of stopping in the middle of a performance and reacting! Please don't be offended 🎸⚡♫ In Japan, an all-girl heavy metal band called SHOW-YA existed in the 1980s and is still active today. NEMOPHILA is a Japanese girl heavy metal band that is on par with LOVEBITES, BAND MAID, ALDIOUS, Gacharic Spin, BRIDER, etc., but SHOW-YA is a big part of their base🎸⚡✨✨✨♫ If you like, please check it out 🤓✌️♫ So please enjoy Japanese girl heavy metal band 💪🤓👍🎸⚡♫ Tsuyoshi.Yokoi from JAPAN🇯?
The lead singer’s voice is perfect for the music but she’s headed for surgery if she keeps screaming. There must be someone else in the band who can fill in those parts.
Only if she’s doing it in an unhealthy way. Since Mayu has been doing the screaming for a few years now with no noticeable degradation in her clean, I think she’s fine.

The drumer is so creative, I love it.
Saki have her Marshall Tattoo Series M1960A + JVM410H Emily Wood Stack in this video

One of my favorite bands from Japan, along with Unlucky Morpheus, Lovebites, Exist~trace and Gacharic spin.
So enjoying your reactions. I think you would love their song Hypnosis. Slower but crushing at the same time
This one's simply Epic!❤
Great reaction guy! Think I've listened to this one dozens of times, too much to absorb with just one listen
Tamu was totally flexing in this one
Hope they stay on this trajectory.
There are loads to go Oiran live is a must. Their 1sr song, fan favorite and shows their immense stage presence.
Great song this one by the ladies .Try Hypnosis and Rollin Rollin as there different again .Love this band .
Recently saw them live. This was highlight of the show. The entire show was a barn-burner.

Tamu Murata and Peter Criss - platform boots buddies!
If I remember correctly, this was the first video where Mayu (vocals) was pregnant.

That custom painted cabinet is Saki's. I think she always has it.
OK - I see that you already have got an answer on that on. Anyhow ...

Nemophila is great! But as you know, Finland has the most metal bands per capita! Here is an old one: ruclips.net/video/VNdWwCcZfM4/видео.html
