First off, I’m so very proud and touched by your comments about your Mom. She certainly knew how you feel. She is still watching your FLosstube. Your bookmark is so lovely. I love Autumn also. The students at your school are lucky to have you in their world. You take care.
The Choose They Love pattern is by Jeremiah Junction, in a book called Seasoned With Love. As soon as you showed it, I thought "Jeremiah Junction". Yeah, I've been around awhile. You're lucky to have cross stitch stores around you! We have none here in Georgia! I have a DC driving story for you. My daughter in law wanted me to go with her and her mom to pick out a wedding gown. We were visiting them in Fairfax and the store we were going to was in Georgetown. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. At evening rush hour. Her brother volunteered to drive us. It was truly frightening traffic and that guy had nerves of steel! We were all thankful that he drove that day. And my daughter in law did say yes to the dress that day!
Thank you, Cathy, for finding the pattern! And I agree, traffic around here is intense. Glad you were able to have a driver that day! I am originally from GA and am sad about the lack of LNSs there.
Hi Laurel, Just found you on Flosstube and really enjoyed your video. I appreciate your choice of projects and your courage to dye some of your own fabrics. thanks for sharing your WIPS and beautiful haul with us. Keep stitching and making more videos!
Loved running in to you on flosstube! I loved all your dyed fabric and haul. while watching I was stitching on Rejoice Evermore by Brenda Gervais. I too am a teacher and am watching this while stuck at home with bronchitis the second week of school!! I teach middle school and hate being absent. But, you made the day sweeter. Thanks for all your content!
Hi Laurel! What a great idea. The bookmark is perfect! I wouldn't worry about the oil stain for now. It might be covered with floss. My Gathering Berries piece has a spot and I'm not going to worry about it for now and hope it is covered with floss. The pieces you dyed are beautiful! And it was fun! The only thing I know about Virginia is that it is the longest state to drive through! I just drove to SC and Virginia went on and on 😁 It's funny, I'm working on Autumn Alphabet as I'm watching your flosstube! The pumpkin does look blue on the pattern. That's why I bought it. I might change the color to teal. I like your choice. Very nice haul! Lots of new projects! Wishing you a wonderful week 🌹
Love your channel, one thing that works for me is putting baby powder where the oils sits. Put a small amount and rub it on. Let sit for a few minutes and then dust off. No more oil stains
Love Halloween Quaker; that one has been in my cart forever🙂. I stitched Autumn Alphabet last year with Tropical Ocean and it turned out great. Or at least I thought so!
I just found your channel. I love libraries as much as cross stitch!!! You are such a fun bundle of energy to watch. Sweet!!! I subscribed and can’t wait to see your progress on the double ‘haul’ !!!!
Great Haul Laurel! I enjoyed your video and stitched on my Modern Folk Embroidery 2021 SAL Fruit of Plenty while I watched! Now I’m craving Halloween stitches!
Hi Laurel. Great video. I loved seeing all the things you bought. The projects you’re working on look great especially the fall piece with the house. I really like Autumn Lane Stitchery and have stitched some of their pieces. When you showed Autumn Town I thought I really need to stitch that this fall. Good luck starting back at school!
First of all, I’m new to your channel, but it was an immediate subscribe for me! I totally want to stitch a bookmark now, yours looks amazing! That Autumnal Sampler is so freaking cute, I need to pick that up! And I totally feel you on the small mess ups that come with trying new things, I had some border problems with a piece a while back, and I ended up making a few over three stitches to get it to connect, there was no way I was ripping it all out lol! Your Halloween Quaker is absolutely stunning, I love the look of your murky, I wish mine looked like that! I’m off to binge all of your other videos now! Fantastic haul and great video! 💙
I see others have already answered you, but there is no question that the mystery piece is by Jeremiah Junction. Once you see some of their other patterns, you’ll see that their style is totally recognizable. I really enjoyed your video, you have some lovely projects!
Hi Laurel, The colorway Havisham on your whiteish fabric in this episode may be a reference to Charles Dickens’ Miss Havisham with the rotting wedding dress. Maybe that’s what the dyer imagined it to look like. It is a nice color. I think it’s really nice that you are able to visit Total Framing in person. Their reputation is fantastic.
Hi! Brijin, the Museum Stitcher sent me here to see what color you chose to stitch the pumpkin on Autumn Alphabet. I bought the chart because I loved the colors of the pumpkins too and you are so right, the called for color is so off! Maybe the dye changed, but I love your pick - Tropical Ocean!! Thank you for sharing!! 💙🤍🖤
You can try a little bit of non clumping cat litter on the oil....I haven't tried on x stitch fabric, but have done it on other things and it has worked, so hopefully that helps. Love the sub of tropical ocean for the pumpkin, I have been thinking about that chart for awhile so it's good to know ahead of time lol Happy stitching ☺
Hi there! Your bookmark is so cute!! The 3 strands looks so good! I love making and using bookmarks. Your stories of shopping at needlework shops are SO funny!! I’m sure many of us can relate to the “struggle”! 😂 While watching your video, I’ve been stitching on a “it’s you I like” bookmark for a friend of mine. It’s from the sweet pattern by Diana (itiskismet) and Michelle (bendystitchy). ❤️
I’m in Virginia. I have been to In Stitches but I haven’t heard of the other shop. I will need to check it out. I did love all the things you purchased. 🤗
New subscriber, I love your channel. I started Halloween Quaker last October. I got half way on one motif and quit. I picked it back up a week ago and I’m hooked. I made it to the witch in the center. I agree it’s like little finishes. I enjoyed your book reviews too.
Just found your channel, love the projects you’re working on! To get oil out of fabric I put baking soda or baby powder on the oil stain for a few days to let it soak it up. However I’ve only done it with clothing so then I toss in wash, you would prob need to use a damp cloth to dab up the powder. For a really saturated oil stain I’ll do the powder step a couple times before I wash it. Good luck, you can also try to stitch the tree over a bit to cover it. No one will know you stitched the tree not as the exact pattern.
I really like your fabrics you dyed. Beautiful colors. I also chose the Autumn Alphabet be Willow Hill Samplings because I loved that blue pumpkin with the black. I used the called for colors thinking oh wow this looks nothing like that blue. But it turned out really good. Mine actually came out pretty aqua blue colored. Go figure! Also your projects look really wonderful!
Ack, I live in Northern VA, my husband was an elementary school teacher for 30 years, my kids are in education (in fact, my son has written a children's book, I'll be sure to let you know when it's finally published); In Stitches is my LNS, I've just started your Floss tube, excited to have found you, love your bookmark! Oh and I love Halloween Quaker, I should get that pattern before it becomes unavailable! I haven't been to Needles in Haymarket, I'll have to check it out.
Loved your video! Just found your channel and enjoyed it! I am an elementary school nurse and this is my last week of summer. I go back on the 8th and the kids return on the 15th. I was working on a Hands on Design A Year of Celebrations month - April. I talk about these stitches on my flosstube/knitting channel 😊 Happy Stitching!
Enjoyed your video. I pretty much stitched Moonlight Sampler monogamous start to finish as I loved it. I was working on Mrs. Campbell while watching your video. She is my first HATS design. I am using dmc but so far the colors are awesome. I also don’t usually choose a chart with alphabet but loved both those charts. The abc in both are an accent not focal point so it doesn’t distract from the beauty for me.
I live in NOVA and In Stitches is my go to spot!! I love stocking up on floss every time I go. And as someone who also lives in the area I avoid 495 as well. Your dyed fabrics look great!!
The fabric you dyed is so pretty! I'll have to check out that shop in Haymarket the next time I go to DC since we usually stop in Haymarket for gas. I've been working on model stitching while I watched.
I have so many of the patterns that you picked up in your haul, especially from The Blue Flower and Autumn Lane! A possible SAL?? Your Halloween Quaker looks amazing! Great video!
Hi, I loved all your great Halloween projects. I think a lot of people felt the pumpkin in the fall alphabet was not as blue as the picture. I love your choice of swap though. I’m a teacher, heading back to school tomorrow. 😩
I think you are correct on the time frame for the mystery love the one design. I believe your mother made that somewhere between their time in Germany or Louisiana. I am also tempted come on the other hand, to say that she found it completedAt the base thrift shop!
Consider me enabled 😂! Especially by that Moonlight Sampler 🤩. Happy to hear there’s two good LNS in NoVa- we are often there to visit family! Btw that Havisham fabric is definitely a Dickens reference (Great Expectations) and the color is perfect!!
Your hair and glasses are cute. Don’t notice any dental work. ☺️ your book mark is very cute, your moon looks fine, the Quaker Halloween will look really good.
Hi! I found your channel via The Museum Stitcher and I’m so happy she recommended you! I love your stitching and was excited to see that you’re stitching (or recently bought) several things that are in my stash. I’m starting the Halloween Quaker with Brijin so I loved seeing your progress and hearing how much fun you’re having with it. Love the fabrics you dyed yourself! I’m subscribing and will be back for more. :) I was stitching the Haunted Library SAL while watching.
When I’ve gotten oil on my Long Dogs I immediately washed them on gentle in my washing machine. But I don’t use hand dyed floss or linen. Is that fabric hand dyed? If not, maybe you could just wash the fabric part that doesn’t have floss on it? Great job dyeing fabric!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I love that Fall Prelude fabric that you picked up at In Stitches. We have tons of Weird But True books. You’re totally right that kids love them! I’m actually knitting on my Find Your Fade shawl while watching you tonight. Have a great start to your school year!!
Loved seeing your haul!! I'm always here for the spooky stitches! I started Halloween Quaker last October and I'm planning to pull it out soon since everyone seems to be working on it now. While I watched your video, I was working on Reaping Love by Silvercreek Samplers 👻
Hello :-) I've just discovered your channel and am enjoying it so much. Is the mystery stitch perhaps by Susan Branch or Donna Kooler? Hope you find it. Karen
Try using your own fabric for your Halloween designs. Make your stitching your own by choosing your own colors of threads also. The designers don't mind if you make changes. What is perfect for one person might not be for others.
New subscriber from the shout out at The Museum Stitcher, I am new to her channel to so I love how that works lol! You have some fantastic projects. It was funny to hear you say that you avoid the high traffic areas while driving and finding the back roads and I live in the DFW area and I do the exact same thing. Your fabric dying looks great, also check out MommaLovesYouGB she has a great fabric dying tutorial, I always use her video and the Stitching With the Housewives video. Everyone has changed that pumpkin color on that Willow Hill pattern so I think the blue you picked will work. How exciting that you have book recommendations at the end also...I have a niece who is an extremely avid reader and is in her later years in elementary school and the middle school recommendations will be great also.
First off, I’m so very proud and touched by your comments about your Mom. She certainly knew how you feel. She is still watching your FLosstube. Your bookmark is so lovely. I love Autumn also. The students at your school are lucky to have you in their world. You take care.
Thank you ❤️
No you hide it all. Then when he notices you say oh I’ve had that for ages 😂😂😂
Love the Lunar Witch! When I googled "Choose thy love, love thy choice" it came up as a German quote on love.

You ask about the oil stain. I'd suggest just adding another fall leaf over the stain
Great idea, Patty! Thank you!

Maybe stitch and extra tree branch over oil spot. If that’s possible.
Thanks, Dana! Good idea!
Just found your channel. Love it! On the pieces that has the oil on the fabric. Can you modify the tree a little to cover that area if the fabric?
That's a great idea, Jan!

So true, Bettye! I can't wait to use those pieces for Halloween. 🎃

Who designed the Shenandoah cross stitch you made? Great video. 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
I found the cross stitch of the amish couple completed on ebay, but it didn't give the designer.
Thank you for looking, Jane!

Hi Erin, I will have to check out that dye tutorial and add some middle grade novels to my book talks!
The piece that you don’t know the name of I think might be a pattern by Jeremiah ‘s Junction- they were hugely popular during that time period
I thought the same thing. There was a magazine that published a lot of their designs but I can’t remember the magazines name. Anyone else remember?
Thank you so much, I think you're right!
