Vox Valvenergy Mystic Edge - First time plugging it in

- For my Presets visit: johnnathancord... Way back at NAMM, Vox announced these pedals, the Valvenergy pedals have a "nu-tube" in them, not sure if that's important or not, but here's the first time plugging in the Mystic Edge, which is based on an AC30. I'm running it in Cab Sim mode, and effectively using it like I would a Strymon Iridium - drive pedals can go in front of it, reverb and delay after, and it's a direct tone that I'm really digging here!

It’s encouraging that it would appear the lack of an effects loop is not really an issue. I assume effects like delay/reverb and maybe certain other modulations would go between preamp and cab

Which one would be more useable for clean to moderately overdriven, the Mystic Edge, Copperhead, or SIlk Drive? WIll be plugging int o solid sate amp (roland jc40 or jc 22)

I'd love to see what you can make with Plethora X5 with all yours amp-sims drive-pedals...

What do you think about the Mystic Edge as a cab sim versus using the HX Stomp's built in cabs/IRs? Could definitely see this as a cool alternative to free up DSP/blocks for the Stomp, especially once 3.0 comes out.

Great videos! You say you’re running it in “Cab Sim” mode. Are you then just running to the HX for effects, then direct to interface? I’m trying to figure out how I would use this with the CabZeus. Any thoughts? Thanks!
You'd just use it as a pre-amp (I think it has Cab, Normal and Preamp mode).
And yep thats how I'm running it here - in cab sim mode, straight into the Stomp!

That guitar tone is really striking. Seems to be just jumping out the speakers.
Interesting listening the transitions from lead tone to clean and back and how you're playing with it.
Seems like there is quite a wide crossover between cleaner and distortions.
One moment there is the sound of hand on string then the next note goes all creamy.
Even lovelier playing today if that's possible. Thanks
