His strokes are just amazing. It's hard to think of anyone who gets so much work on the ball, but also strikes it so cleanly. His backhand is a totally offensive shot. His forehand blurs time. When he is on, he must be a nightmare to play. A deep run at a slam is coming for him. His game is just ferocious. One of my favorite players to watch right now.
@Simon Locke so you think NADAL has not improved aspects of his game? Compare '05 nadal with '17 nadal! Shapo is unreliable but he has a lot to work on!
Federico Russo exactly he doesn’t develop the point well enough, goes for shots that aren’t there, as important as form and technique is the iq has to be there.
He just flows through the court setting up his FH or BH.. that separation he gets on the FH is awesome and then he can light up a bh anytime. awesome video again, thanks for sharing.
@@JacksonWalter735 dragon ball z fusion. It’s an anime concept lol. Basically two combining to one I think, I don’t watch the show myself but have heard things about it.
I’ve never ever seen a player play as smoothly and as effortlessly as Federer. But Shapapolov is extremely close. He hits the ball so cleanly with minimal effort. I’ll be rooting for Denis hard after Roger retires.
lavaman233 are you the tennis police or something? Let fans support whichever player they want for whatever reason they want. It’s really none of your business which players someone else supports.
The ball just launches off of his racquet. His technique is so efficient. He’s so light on his feet and then quiet as a still life at contact both sides. Best 1 handler lefty I’ve ever seen.
Aserve Yout I hit w a one hand backhand, make sure you use the right grip, bring your racquet back far, early and low, then when you swing think as if you’re pulling a sword out of a sheath and lastly make sure to follow through fully to put topspin on it. Go try it out! Good luck!
The 2 handed backhand can be an equally beautiful stroke with the right technique. Check out some clips of Marat Safin or David Nalbandian. Their 2 handed backhands are beautiful.
Makes it look effortless. Great balance, anticipation and lag on the swings making the racket generate that pop. Looks like he's got an impressive wingspan which certainly helps many facets of the game.
He has the shots to win slams, but not the mental game. I'd be very surprised if he wins a slam tbh, especially since other talents are starting to surpass him in success.
He seems like he would be a GS winner, but something keeps holding him back. He's one of my favorite newer players but I would have expected him to break through by now. Hopefully soon.
12kgp iPhone X? 1080p 60fps? You recorded it so wide, but I imagine that the court itself is very long and you had space to do it, right? Great video btw
iPhone X in 4k 60fps (you need to use Chrome browser to be able to watch in 4k). Wide angle lens (which is the default lens for the iPhone, not the tele). I normally use FilmicPro to shoot video at max bitrate (FilmicExtreme) since it's better than the stock iOS camera app, but I shot all of my IW videos with the stock camera app because using FilmicPro at max bitrate is a big battery hog. The distance from the baseline to the back fence/wall at many of the practice courts at IW isn't that much longer than normal tennis courts.
Wired he has a team helping him feedings the balls etc. However it feels like his hitting partner is on a completely different level compared to Shapovalov. Proably better he practices like Nadal e.g versus two players to up the intensity.
I know that Dennis is young and doesn't have the consistency of the top 5 or so, but man I love his natural fluidity of the strokes. Federer is almost as fluid.

Unfortunately that's exactly his issue. He doesn't know when to slow down. Tennis is not all about winners. But I agree beautiful strokes.
@Simon Locke Have you ever heard of the word "improvement" ? He's only 20, stop bullshiting

@Simon Locke bet he'd spank you though Simon
This guy's backhand is just amazing !
it's a fun shot, but it breaks down like crazy under pressure. we'll see if he can fix that.
It's really beautiful to see
My backhand is better
Leo P72 ok
Leo P72 ok

So smooth and explosive. Best looking strokes on tour today
Nice to see a youngster with a powerful one handed backhand. Too many two handers nowadays
Indian Wells 2020 isn't that far away - let me know what players you would like to see video of
Basilashvili,Berrettini and Swiatek(Woman),please!!
Shapo, Kohlschreiber and Hurkacz It would be great to see them
Federer
Rublev
Medvedev
Every shot is so powerful yet effortless. I'm trying to get like that lol
Well you can if you play 3 hours everyday for 5 years straight practicing as intense as he does. It's not possible for the rest of us - too much work.
@@nsebast Lol that's facts!
Good form/strokes and a heavy racket, both static and swing weight will get you some of that.

If Federer and Nadal did the oll DBZ fusion ha.
Ahem that's actually Thiem.

One hand backhand is so CLASSIC! I love it and those who plays that.
I just changed mine for my senior year. I like it so far!

Wished i had learned one handed back hand instead. It looks so free and smooth and the form for one handed back hand look so beautiful.

Roshan Sreedhar no 2 handed backhand is beautiful, quite an ugly shot to be honest, nothing compares to the elegance of a single hander
@@jchneo26 i agree the only pure 2 handed backhand i ever saw was Chris Evert, although Nalbandian very close

Dennis has one of the most beautiful forehands.
He is going to crack top ten soon 👍🇨🇦

his coach looks like some guy he just met on the street
1:38 Nicely done Wawrinka :D
A lot of body action in this mans groundstrokes!!!
😴😴😴
Wish this vid was longer. Nice to fall asleep to the sounds
Remember this comment when he starts winning slams.
Bruh ur not the only one who thinks he will win slams
It won't be any time soon after watching this video.
Still waiting...

wish TV would broadcast this pov during matches …
Gotta love the single backhand!!!
Great footwork!
All you junior players should copy his style.. you will automatically win more games just by keeping the footwork going.
I like his forehand
When you watch it, the ball comes slow, then you try it and the ball comes like a missile.
Does anybody have a Link to buy the shirt?
Timng is superb when the take back is early
It’s so beuteafull 🥺
Hope that nice and talented guy gonna be next super star. Actually I do think that Shapovalov, Zverev, Auger Auliseme going to dominate soon.
His left arm is twice bigger than his right arm
Yiaong Zhang his arms are bigger than my legs haha
Kyle Smith lol
Its called a Pump from using the muscles soo much on that one arm
i think its the same to every tennis player
Have you seen Federer
I want to wear Westbrook to play tennis as well since I watched this.
A one-handed left backhand 😍
Super smooth easy power action.
You can tell the difference in the shot immediately when his stance is the correct one.
He seems like he would be a GS winner, but something keeps holding him back. He's one of my favorite newer players but I would have expected him to break through by now. Hopefully soon.
Ready to LOOSE. This POKEMON is on fire :D
Wow this guy got a really sweet forehand and backhand . He will win grand slams
Really like Shaps backhand. Puts a hurt on the ball.
Super quality
On handed back hand, lefty forehand with nadal style and serve, using a yonex. He is great combination of warinka and nadal
beautiful moves, would be great if it stops him from dropping out 1st round in GS

He’s still very young. I expect big things from him in a few years when the tour gets back on track.
What tension is he on ?amazing
So beautiful
can someone upload this mirrored. mechanics/form is easier to see if the person you’re watching is handed the same as you imo
The most artistic player imo. He needs to level up to compete with top 5 though.
躍動感有って良い。
I actually think the left hander hitting it back to Shapovalov is almost as good.
Racquet sounds super heavy. Anyone know the specs?
I am a lefty. Denis is a lefty. I am trying to learn a few things from this video breaking his technique down frame by frame.
Topspin machine

You can find the gear every players are wearing in their ATP profile : www.atptour.com/en/players/denis-shapovalov/su55/overview
He's all legs!
Honestly I think he could hit the ball more in front of him and step forward too for his forehand, thoughts anyone?
i think contact point is perfect.. but yes he could go with his whole body more forwards ..besides this the forehand is worldclass
This is my new form. Bigger swing.
Are yonex racquets good? Are they designed for players that have flexible wrists?
wish I was that talented too

Maybe club players can take some inspiration from that guy. I've seen a lot of flat footed at the rec level...
Great potential.
