    I think I have been in at least 100 Goodwill stores over the years and have never seen them sell jewelry this way. Your right it looks like fun however you have got to know that NOTHING of value gets by them these days. The store should be called Greedwill they even tear off the back of all pictures to make sure nothing is hiding there.

      HEADS UP about goodwill ....its company policy for all high end (expensive) stuff gold... old watches...jewelry...art... antiques..musical instruments...etc to be shipped to the goodwill .com to be auctioned off....NO REALLY extremely valuable stuff like this will be found in a goodwill store unless it's a mistake or a fluke. They have a professionally trained.former..Ebay or Amazon seller on staff at goodwill .com to answer any and all manager employees questions daily about the worth of stuff in doubt......at the moment...THIS IS FACT..not fantasy.....thats why you NEVER EVER unless its a mistake find anything of extreme value at goodwill stores.... don't believe me??? look at SHOP GOODWILL.com. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING FOLKS... resellers...they get the cake....WE get the crumbs...i still go there because they do miss some things sometimes......but garage sales are WAY better. IMO . I been a successful reseller 18yrs on Ebay...ALL these thrift stores are getting SUPER GREEDY in their prices...(through the roof in some stores) So, let the "sheep" get slaughtered and pay up for the stuff they get for free mostly.... If i can't make at LEAST 10 to1 profit minimum what i pay for something it ain't worth my time. i.e. if i pay say 6 bucks for a stereo or something similar...its got to bring ( at that moment) at least 60 bucks minimum or more online. if it ain't ...well....just leave it to the sheep.
      ( IM STRICTLY TALKING ABOUT RESELLING FOR PROFITS HERE)...Good Luck...HAPPY HUNTING...

      Madeline Ivins I've never seen it either and you are right "Greedwill"! I wish the ppl that ingorm about these jars would inform completely. Like is this smthg you have to know to ask for or only on certain days maybe even certain locations. Smtms ppl dont want you to know so they keep the details to themselves but want you to tune in to increase their amt of views. Hopefully, we'll see if this youtuber elaborates on my comment or just ignore a subscriber. Watched several youtube videos that just show off what they find but keep the thrill of the hunt details hidden.

    The stone in the dolphin pendant looks like jadeite. The "stalactite slice" pendant is purple chalcedony wrapped in heavy gauge silver wire. I wish our local Goodwill would do this sort of thing. Enjoyable "treasure hunt". Thanks, for uploading.

Nice find ☺️☺️ also the pendant you found right after is made by Vintage Marjorie Baer, another good find! Some of her pendants sell between 100-200$

    • @kellybader6315
      @kellybader6315 6 лет назад

      @@CeeVee714 well there ate alot of people that have no knowledge of gems. Jade is the most expensive stone on the planet. Diamonds are the most available and actually only valuable because of debeers. Diamonds are the most plentiful gem on the planet. At any given time there are 50 plus diamond mines in operation all over the planet. I am lucky enough to own a gem collection valued over a half million. We have collected rare gems for almost 30 yrs.

    I used to buy these by the armload. They used to be $9.99. Now the prices are a lot more because of the fact that good stuff has been found in them... I have found a ton of it. I have seen them at thrift stores for as much as $249.99. I would say whoever called them "Greedwill" got it right. That was one reason I always hit Goodwill for the jewelry bags, jars. No more fun like it used to be

      People who work at Goodwill are not allowed to ever shop at any Goodwill as long as they are employed. Not to say they can't hide something for a friend but...look at the signs on the door. The workers are usually nice people who enjoy their jobs it seems. Very friendly. I do not "round up" however. They get enough!

    • @AmethystWoman
      @AmethystWoman 6 лет назад +1

      @@ethernicagape3163 - I think people die and the family just doesn't care to take time out of their lives. People with money don't use Craig's list mostly I think. I've seen stuff that I know a family member just didn't care. Expensive stuff. I bought a $2200 painting because the family didn't care enough to investigate. I'm sure the owner knew what it was worth. Estranged families call Goodwill to just come and take it all (after looking for cash?) Anyway. Just my thoughts although I'm poor and donate a lot. I hate yard sales.

    Great purchase. I am a jeweler and gem stone collector. You had a few very nice items. That last pearl earring was a Tahitian pearl. You also had many nice taxco silver bangles. Those are collector items and can be as much as 100.00 for 1 silver bangle. I would love to know where your goodwill store is as if buy that in a heartbeat. I'd say from the quick look at what you had was at least a value of a few hundred. The one pearl alone could be worth a few bills.

    Does anyone here know that 'Goodwill' is owned by one person and he takes home $2.3 million a year. How's that for a 'CHARITY SHOP'.
    Salvation Army is truly a helping people in dire need charity. The Commissioner of this organization makes only $13,000 a yr, plus housing.
    Think about this when you are donating your items. Look it up.

    • @lesliem8035
      @lesliem8035 6 лет назад +1

      That is true about goodwill
      Not exactly true about salvation army. Although they give more to people in need of they question your values if you are lgbtq you might as well die. The CEO makes way more then stated. They are cheaper than goodwill although prices are growing. So if and when i go there i try not thinking of how unethical their values are. I try to stick with the private 2nd hand stores and garage sales. Support friends and neighbors. Real locals.

    Wow!! I am curious, were those huggie silver/gold earrings in the beginning that you matched up authentic David Yurman?? If so, could value up to $450. I think you got a jewelry mind...I can almost be sure that the wishbone pendant has real diamonds! Please do tell😉 I love this, congratulations on an awesome find...hee hee my heart was beating as I believe that some ppl take for granted the value of these pieces, jems, pearls,diamonds and silver...they truly have a value if you know how to reinvent your self by creating pieces to make customized jewelry to sell. For intance, removing the stones and adding them to a favorite piece of jewelry or bezel of a watch for yourself...could really be valuable!

    The majority of the decent items are being sold online ....in the stores you will find a great deal of resin, Made in China, mismatched dishes, outdated clothes, along with furniture which needs to be refinished and/or broken. You can easily spend $300 on miscellaneous stuff before finding a nice item with a value of $25.00. If you are looking for antiques, you have to go to their website on Goodwill and bid on these items. Videos such as these changed the way Goodwill does business now they are aware of what is valuable and what is not. Bargains are rare and easier to find at auctions, estate sales, or yard sales.

    The best places to shop is the Recovery shop run by the Red Cross cancer society, they always have real treasures real high end stuff for very good fair prices, like the Chanel jacket I bought for 100 dollars, this jacket had the new tags inside a pocket with the value of over 1,500 dollars and it was authenticated by experts. Fortunately for me I live in an area where very prominent people live and their donations are incredibly expensive but I love how this shop always uses very fair prices and also once in a while they have all the store 50% off and also weekly specific color tags are 99c with no tricks or exceptions like Goodwill.

    That ring you got is called a poison ring. Back in the old days they would put poison in the ring so if they want to get revenge on someone they can but dumping poison in someone's drink with getting busted. I know because I use to have one.

      Yes, they used to make ‘poison’ rings long ago, but I don’t believe that was one of them. The one she showed had a pair of praying hands on it, and she mentioned that. Several years ago, ‘prayer ‘ rings and pendants were popular - you wrote out a prayer you had on a slim slip of paper (similar to ones found in fortune cookies, they were included in your purchase), and placed them in the compartment. Having your prayer close to your heart or ‘at hand’ was supposed to remind you to pray often about it so it would be answered quickly. With a ‘poison ring’, the compartment was concealed behind a large stone or focal point of the ring, so as to not be obvious that it HAD a concealed space. After all, if you plan on poisoning someone, you don’t want to be caught!😉😁

    I hope u had your black pearls checked out. I had a pair of earrings made in Hawaii for my mother. They were the size of the one I saw u holding w the diamond stud. The pearls cost me $600 a piece. So its worth looking into if u do this often. Also if u hold a stone to your upper lip it will stay cool if it's real it will heat up if it's glass. Happy hunting & MANY Blessings! :)))

    I was looking at some of the stuff she's got. Quartz Crystal, adventurine, a lot of silver. Some of the stuff she should take to a jewelry store and get it appraised or get the stones checked. They may be the fake stuff but some of them might be precious stones and cheap settings. I found quite a few or I've had really good stones but nickel or alloy settings. I got a earring and necklace set one time. The settings cheap but the stones we're real! Ended up getting $75 for 3 amethyst stones! So it does pay to look sometimes. Especially if people don't know their jewelry or their precious stones / crystals.

    Don’t listen to all the negativity, that large cross definitely is beautiful and it looks like sterling silver you can test it with a testing kit that can be purchased for $10.

      You can test sterling most times with a magnet. If it sticks its not silver

    • @TheWizOfKeyz
      @TheWizOfKeyz 6 лет назад

      Magnets dont stick to silver or gold, true...but they also dont stick to brass, copper, and some alloys of pewter or zinc...or aluminum. so thats really not the best tactic. Look for stamping. Use a magnifying glass. Most "real" or "sterling silver" will always be stamped with the numbers 925. And all real gold jewelry, except in the unlikely case of it being some amature hobby jeweler's home made/hand smelted piece, it will always be stamped with the appropiate gold ratio amount 18k, 24k, etc...so youre better off just taking it to a fine jeweler. And dont approach it as if youre trying to sell either. Always act as if you intend to keep the item. Make up some bs sob story about it having sentimental value or something, and say that youre just curious to know if the piece is actually valuable. Just dont take it to a pawn shop whatever u do. (as soon as they find out you dont really know what youve got there) they will always down play the value of a piece trying to get something for nothing! Good luck!

      Normally when they paint it behind is that is glass not real and it gives them a mirror effect to the glass :) very nice but not practical in my opinion
