First Alex & Ani piece I have seen on all the jewelry videos I've been watching . They were on QVC for a while and they also have stores in some big airports . They can be pricey but not super expensive .
At 5:37, I used to buy those to wear. They are expandable to place around the cuff of long sleeve jackets, then when you push up your sleeves to the elbow, the band holds them in place. They are better than ultra thick rubber bands because they don't cut off blood flow but still hold long sleeves up.
That last necklace you showed was a child's necklace. I had one when I was tiny, my baby necklace. My grandparents bought it me for since I was their first grandchild and I was very spoiled.
My goodness what a huge box of jewelry!! Looks like you getting some good finds tho! I would be so overwhelmed with a box that big! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to part 2
Old pearl necklaces are actually hand blown either milk glass or frost glass underneath the fake pearl glaze... So if you take a fifties strand like the faux pearl one you got and put it in so nail polish remover... You'll fine new treasures underneath I...I especially love the milk glass on the head of old hat pins 🤗. It's also cool when the old pearls show their beauty when they have the clear glass is opaque! That was a silver earring with the red stone... Thanks for the great video 👍
Bella Rita I didn't know the nail polish remover trick you mentioned - thanks for that! I have a bunch of vintage costume jewelry, many pieces of which are faux pearls, and I'm going to try it tonight! Thanks again!
@@veecee3669 will also try..... I have sat and painstakingly scraped off the outer layer with my fingernail..... have the pearls in a box so when I finally come to it..... I am going to go to town!! woo hoo
Carol, do you know what the item at 5:31 was for? Its not a bracelet. You would put it over a blouse sleeve and use it to push up the sleeve and have it stay up. The item would be hidden entirely as the fabric folded at that point. No one cared if the brass colored coating wore off a little, as long as it was not stretched out or rough or ugly. I think those were used a little before your time! lol edit: You obviously would like those in pairs.
The orange at beginning was cloisonne jewelry. I believe they pour something into the frames and it hardens. It's expensive version of enamel. And I would break down those earrings and all other stuff for parts and sell on Ebay in lot deals.
Wow that's a lot of jewelry Carol. There are some really pretty pieces in there, and it's fun to watch what you all got. I really like your voice, it's so calming :)
bargainshopping I know what you mean Carol. I don't like my voice either if it's recorded, but trust me, you have a beautiful voice and it sounds so calming. Watching your videos really relaxes me. :)
Your doing just great...Keep up the good work, I hardly see this on you tube so ,it is very interesting... my older sister use do this with jewelry before she past away of cancer, and I thank you for sharing... GOD BLESS"🙏
I was just now watching this, I know I'm a little late, but some of these pieces are actually worth more if you take them apart and sell just the beads or the components or even the chain. Just a suggestion, I know that I myself and a group of fellow beaders are always looking for vintage beads to mix with our current designs and vintage chain and clasps are just a bonus.
Love this channel. I'm like you when it comes to jewelry, I buy it at yard sales to give to my residents at the nursing home and ALF that I work at here in Florida. God bless you.
Don’t throw anything out. Even the chains are useful to beaders like me. Or take things apart and sell the beads, even plastic beads can be recycled into a new piece. 👍🏻😄
I was just sitting here watching and thinking what a great gift this would be for a young girl around ten or so to get a box like this for a birthday etc and have fun playing with!!
@@bargainshopping2771 could you please tell me how do I go about buying jewelry at Goodwill or anywhere else you buy?? I live this video, I never knew you could do this! How exciting!!
You can tell if its glass, stone or plastic by touching it to your cheek. Stone is the coldest, then glass and plastic. They all warm up in your hand so you can't have handled them first. Give it a try.
the ear ring with silver and red turquoise is like a 150 a pair my wife and sister collect them I cant recall the designer. my wife has the exact set in blue turquoise. I buy the bags at good will and keep all the beads my daughters love making stuff up and some time sell it on line. you got a deal for the box full lately goodwill has gone mad with there prices and we wait or coupon day or the color of the week! cheers!
Hi, I was thrilled to watch your video... You're doing a great job! I also buy from SGW... I have bought some really nice jewelry from them. I actually buy more of the China and tea sets and tea pots . I use to have an antique store but I am now thinking about selling thing's online. I hope that you do well selling the jewelry... I think that you have a great idea presenting the box and showing the pieces that you have gotten... Hopefully this will generate business for you! Don't let other's discourage you! Keep doing what you're doing! 😁 Best of luck!
The necklace crown PL I looked it up says it’s vintage made by Paul De Lamerie and it could should be silver please have that piece further checked out ...congratulations
A note on the silver colored vintage piece that you said had a hallmark of a crown and the letters PL. you said it was probably Park Lane. I have been collecting and identifying jewelry for 30 years. PL or PT are hallmarks for Platinum. Also, a crown indicates it is British. You need to have that piece appraised immediately.
Wow, that's a huge box of jewelry. I hope you don't have to deal with a tangled nightmare. Maybe get a couple of plates to separate out the jewelry by category (necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pins) while unboxing. Thanks for sharing!
My sister went thru my mother’s costume jewelry and gave it all to me said what I don’t want to throw out. I did the tooth test on all her pearls, guess what! They were all real.
how do you get a box of jewelry.. when I go into the stores they are always individual under glass or on top... never have seen a box sold...so where do you buy yours... thanks
Your doing great. Keep it coming your way! Oh BTW look back at the hangtag with Crown, P not an "L" could it be a cursive "D" then it would be Premier Designs.
I keep some, have pop up shops on you tube (have one on now see my newest video) sell on ebay and poshmark and the junk either crafters lot or just toss
agree their stuff is way out of line but the men and women who shop there have money to spare and are tag wearers good for those of us who sell but honestly i wouldn't buy from them
Your accent seems to be east coast. Could you be from NY? Loved the "Park Lane" necklace & the tiny 10 Kt locket. That was a ton of jewelry for the cost.
PS a couple of the pieces looked sterling to me, and a magnet won't show that. IE the one with red stones/filigree. Plus, ITA, it looked like it might have been from India (or a similar country) and not sure they mark as we do. Also, that earring & the next one looked big enough that if you don't find the match, you might be able to convert it to a necklace charm! PS the rhinestone one with the PL is charming! I love vintage looks
