    I absolutely loved there draft so far. Got the best available stud at 12 and the rest has been mostly pitching prospects with high upside as well as a few other positions with high upside. Couldn't be happier. I think Tolle, and Conrad could REALLY turn into something special.

    Ever since I’ve discovered this channel, it’s the only one I go to for Red Sox news. Keep up the great work.

    Great idea loading up on pitchers. I did mention that was the route I thought they should go. Time for Boston to become a pitching powerhouse. Atlanta knows about that. You'll notice they took Cammaniti in a heartbeat with their first pick. Looks like Boston made out ok in this draft. I really wanted the Sox to take a pitcher with that first pick but.....when Montgomery fell to them on the 12 th pick I can see how they felt they couldn't let him pass on by. My sense is that he is going to be pretty elite. Power from both sides of the plate and a rocket for an arm. I bet he moves thru the system pretty quickly. Lots of outfield talent for Boston. A good problem to have. :) Good video Corbin.

    Excellent video! Thanks Corbin! Agree with your assessments of approach with drafting college pitching. I continue to have great vibes with Breslow.

    Loving this draft. They clearly have a type with majority of the pitchers being 6’4 and up. Pitchers in the draft are a dime a dozen mine as well load up on them and hope a few can be contributors in the future. Also love that they took all college arms except the one two way kid so hopefully some of these guys can be up pretty soon and most if not all will likely sign since they’re done school. Love this draft all around

    Good stuff so far in this draft. And this is a down year as far as overall polished talent.

    It was not a balanced draft in the since that they drafted an equal number of position players. This is his first year, so we'll cut him some slack. Loading up on pitchers will ad debth to the minors and increase the development of homegrown pitchers, but we also need position players as well. He also felt we needed more depth in the outfield as well as catching since those positions were drafted relatively high.

    The Red Sox have had a great draft so far. With Breslow being a pitcher and having a deep depth of knowledge of the position seems like the focus has shifted. Great picks so far both days. Neely hopefully will stay in the pen. His ERA there was drastically lower for the Gators and his fastball averaged 95 out of the pen. Which is much more effective. I think they've done a great job. Also got a pitcher from Vandy and everyone knows they produce very very good pitchers there.

    Not at all surprised that Craig Breslow primarily drafted pitchers especially due to currently having a surplus of their best talent playing at everyday field positions ... Though I would have liked to have seen a pitcher selected in the first round, Braden Montgomery is too good of an elite prospect for Breslow to have passed on ...
    You can never have enough good arms in your system which is the backbone of building consistent championship contenders ... The Red Sox of old during the Tom Yawkey years (1933-1976) were not that successful mainly due to not emphasizing the importance of pitching as their first line of run prevention defense ...

    Happy with the direction of pitching. Probably will be direction next several seasons. If they were selling, young pitchers would be the focus. They’ll be looking for pitching at the deadline, just ones to get us through the season.

      I think at this point they won’t be selling they would have to historically collapse to be fully in selling territory

    Corbin, do you think it would be a good idea to like the NBA bring them right in and see what they can do and then if they can perform that level in the pros that I mean the majors. Like if they really do a good job they can stay however if they're not going to perform then put them in low class A so they can really work their stuff up

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  Месяц назад

      No mostly because there’s a massive difference between drafting in the offseason and drafting in the middle of the season. Throwing them into a playoff race against the best talent in the world is a terrible idea

    I think it's good to draft pitchers obviously there's no way to tell how good they will be but they definitely have a chance to develop. I don't see any negatives in any of their picks we'll just have to wait to see how good any of these guys will be!

    could have tabbed UMaine's Jerry Jenkins in rd. 14 , instead took a pitcher from Lehigh with 6 innings thrown this season? Whose nephew?

    As usual Corbin missed two important points. Jim Riley point out that some weird picks have a secret logical. Not my point my idea. Montgomery might demand more the money slot for his draft position. Some of their later picks maybe sacrificed for more Montgomery money. The RS later selections weren't near the MLB pipeline rankings. Nicke Yorke was considered a major reach when selected in the first round.

      Considering they haven’t been payed it’s hard to figure out what they actually end up getting or if they do end up getting signed. Not really a ton of point to talk about it until then outside of just pure speculation
