Bon Dia Joseph and Andre! I never heard of those coat trees 😮lol! This is a gorgeous ruin! This property is perfect for privacy and peace. I love to hear the Portuguese language from Andre, but he seems to like to speak English. I found a lot of people in Portugal didn’t like or couldn’t understand English. I was on São Miguel Azores for a few months. Border patrol made me buy a return ticket lol, so I couldn’t stay longer until I get my visa back in US.

Yours and André’s suggestions of things to do or change in the property are very helpfull. Would you both consider teaching some short courses on for example indigenous fruit trees/ bee keeping/ etc? I would gladely travel from Lisbon for them.
Hello Joseph, You refer to medronho as moonshine. Here in the back country in Kentucky and Tennessee in the US the raw distilled liquor is referred to as White Lightning.

Personally I prefer to see more practical farm properties, and with this property I see too many negatives. But we all have a different preference so I can live with that.
I guess the owner cuts the trees and sell them. Or a company cuts them and take the trees. And they would pay something for the wood. Anyway, in this case, there are too many and someone has to remove them. Be it the current owner (or family) or the new owner.
I cant confirm in this case, but sometimes large forestry companies will pay the land owner to grow trees there, they will do the planting, occasional maintenance if required and the logging at the end. Im aware of one case where a large land area was bought, but didnt include the contract, so the forestry company continued to pay the old owner, while the new one was not allowed to touch the trees. Be careful!
The price is 55.000. A complete renovation depending how you want it. I would say between 25-50.000. But i'm not an expert and not a contractor. It's just a rough guess.

But they solved the issue by swapping equal parts of farmland with other farmers so that the majority of the different farm fields could be reshaped into nice rectangular shapes. In my country that is possible because all the land is flat and equally usable, and mostly used for seasonal crops like corn or grain or potatoes, or fodder for animals. And in other cases one heir or more heirs buy out the other heirs so that the business can be continued by one or more heirs.
