- Another 3 hours of a guy failing and blaming most of his deaths on a children's game from 2002... in the year 2018.
Unpolished games, Odyssey and 64 were better, Camera, Miyamoto, momentum, physics. This video has it all, and concludes the Mario Sunshine Saga.
All Good Ideas were played by the 0utsyder (me). I won't do it again if people don't like injected gameplay.
I feel like game developers should add a "Phil" difficulty in games now, you choose it and the game just plays it self so mister "best overall gamer on the country" can just stare at the chat and keep an eye out for money

Alberto Roman if I ever made a game, I’d actually implement an Easter egg where typing in DSP would make the game unfair(and would also lead to a secret bad ending telling the pigroach to git gud at games)
I love how every game play through starts out positive and fun for Phil but the play through quickly turns dark, ending with Phil declaring it to be a horrible game.
Because most, if not all, games start out easy.
and then saying he loved it months later.
And then when the sequel or another game like it comes out, he'll whine and bitch about the current game and say that the older game (which he also hated) was way better.

Literally everyone else here! Myself included! Thankfully; if you need to watch someone who can actually play Sunshine WITHOUT bitching constantly; there's ALWAYS Chuggaaconroy! His Sunshine LP is one of the best ever; and is a great walkthrough if you need one. And he seems like a great guy to hang out with in real life too... Of course; you can always watch PBG's Mario Hacked series...if that counts? I mean; I'm just recommending 2 of my favorite RUclipsrs; because I really despise Phailbot and honestly want to kick him in the nuts! I mean; why wouldn't you; right?! But with Chuggaa and Peebs; you'd want to hang out with them; because they're genuinely nice dudes who are just happy to be here in the first place; unlike Phailborg6900; who's an ungrateful prick who everybody else and their brother/sister; should take turns kicking in the nuts; repeatedly! The other guy who's worse than Phailbot; would probably be LTG; but at least Phail'sburg plays slightly better than LTG; but has worse commentary; and is a slightly worse person than Phil. With worse anger control problems. (Sorry for bringing Ltg up though; but it's just so hard to decide which one of those 2 may actually be the worse person). But when we have great guys like Emile and Austin; it's just hard NOT to imagine Phil and LTG getting kicked in the nuts! Just saying... But seriously though; go and watch Chuggaa and Peebs; not a fanboy shilling either of them; it's just that both of them are amazingly talented and hilarious. Plus; Peebs looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo; which was one of my favorite childhood cartoons. Sorry if I seemed like a fanboy about these 2; but they're my favorite RUclipsrs here; and don't scam people out their money... And always seem to appreciate everyone who watches their videos. I just wish they could do a Collab video together though...would love to see Peebs working together with Chuggaa and the rest of the Runaway Guys too...

@@od1401 I kinda get what they mean : putting someone who literally 100% the game (maybe multiple times) against DSP who's doing it 1st time makes it a bit biased (probably not the best word to use) though it would have been even funnier if it was a 1st timer against DSP 1st time and would beat him to it anyway. I appreciate the Good Idea segments, 0utsyder. Helps break up the idiocy of Phil, and also helps people who haven't played before (like me, in regards to Sunshine) understand how exactly Phil is screwing up (when it isn't immediately obvious).

sean mills Odyssey was so easy. I beat it in like 2 days with almost no difficulty. It’s really sad how easy they are making these games. Most kids don’t even appreciate Mario like people in their 20’s and older.

and when he finally does figure out how to work a door he leaves the pineapple behind. the room itself had three pineapples which would be a slap to the face that the pineapples are important and needed and he leaves without it and had to go through it all again

It really does help to show how simple the thing he's attempting is, and how difficult he's making it out to be by just sheer incompetence.
I do enjoy the good ideas bad ideas, however I just think they need slight improvement. For example the one with the Feris wheel the good idea showed you the entire shine whilst the bad idea started with DipShitPhil climbing up the blue and green grates. I just think the Good Idea should show only the part its referring to rather than the entire star as most people who have played the game already knows what its meant to be.
Other than that its great shit.

0utsyder, I have no idea how you endured through making this. I've barely made it just watching your TIHYDPs, as well-edited and fun as they are. Hats off to you, because this was a legitimately mind-numbing play-through.
I also hope the person that taught Phil the word 'polished' is happy with themselves. He's using it like a child that's just learnt a naughty word.
Super Mario Sunshine is honestly one of the better Nintendo games ever made. Great music, awesome atmosphere, solid level design, wonderful graphics (especially for its time) and, yes, excellent controls--some of the most smooth and free controls in the series! The fact that DSP calls it one of the *worst* just because he's inept upsets me.
Its the only 3D Mario game i've played (though I got a copy of Odyssey last year and a Switch for my birthday last week), but I suspect it will be my least favorite. I don't like beach settings.
That said, it's an awesome game and loads of fun. Fatside just can't accept games that don't play themselves.
As far as I'm concerned, Sunshine is superior to Galaxy in every way except the soundtrack.

I don't usually get frustrated watching Phil, but this has managed to trigger me beyond the existing dimensions.
2:44:54 is probably my favorite single moment of this entire playthrough. Simple in execution, but endlessly entertaining.
Super Mario Sunshine is far from perfect and has its problems. But seeing him struggle so much on the Ferris Wheel level is just... I don't even know. The amount of time spent there is just amazing.

The only part where I'd forgive Phil is when he didn't know he could open the door with pineapple in hand. I can see how someone might not realize that you can open doors while carrying something... but most of what we see are excuses.

I have to say I like your editing style. A lot of people put in way too many “reactions” every five seconds that last way too long, but you’re pretty sparing, and a lot of the additions aren’t intrusive.

Phil’s external locus of control is the source of his inability to self improve and actualize his best possible self. If he would just accept that he is in control of his actions he could acknowledge his mistakes and improve from them. But it’s apparent that he is doomed to suck forever. That 🎡 attempt tells me he is irredeemably bad.

If his inputs are dropped that much, it likely means he either: didn't provide an input; provided an unintended input; or damaged his controller.

The fact that it took him 7 attempts to beat Piantissimo in Pianta Village, really puts into perspective just how astronomically terrible he is at this game.
I'm not shitting you when I say that I beat this game when I was 6 years old with little to no problem. Phil seriously makes my 6 year old self look like a pro gamer. This has been a goddamn joy to watch and laugh at.
Man this was a rough showing for Phil, but I still say his donkey Kong 64 playthrough was much worse

There's one thing I REALLY want to see. I'm sure I'll catch ire from people but, I want to see DSP attempt to make a game on his own. What? Since we're speaking in hypotheticals, here's how it would go down: He would realize almost right away that he had no idea what he was doing then start making excuses that blame other people or things out of his control to cover up his ineptitude just like he always does.
Phil, making his own game?😂 yeah right. He wouldn't even make it passed the beta stages. If anything, he talks as if he should have a job as a Game Tester. Making a game requires an investment of time, money, management and patience. All four principals of which Phil will never have enough in resource of.
The second thing is paying others to help him with the game. He wouldn't pay anyone if he was the boss of anyone, he would make them work for free and keep the money for himself, leading to arguments, inevitable resigning of management and his thin-skinned self getting cussed out and told to make and test the game himself, do all the work to complete it by a deadline and then make advertisements and sales for the game.
Oh but what would the game be called?

Time for some useless speedrun knowledge. If you go up to the left tree upon entering the village, try to spin jump off the furthest inward leaf toward the building with the mayor to avoid having to do any underground hassle. I do this all the time nowadays.
Another one for clearing lots of goop and calming the Chain Chomp/lets is doing the A+R method. Literally press R quickly after pressing A. The result will be the same as the backflip, without the backflip.
In the Village's Underground Secret, don't go for the 1-ups on the underside. They are red herrings.
I should correct you, Outsyder. The spikes and fire are not necessarily instant death. They simply deal 3 consecutive hits if mistimed. 9 times out of 10, you will die from the spikes, but the 1 time out of 10, you'll have a lucky break and live with 2 units of health.
Reached the end and... May Phil not touch Thousand Year Door. That one will just make me cry.
Coincidently, that 3 consecutive hits actually happened with DSP, he timed it so awkwardly that he survived. Somehow, he always finds a way to do all the weird stuff in a game. Otherwise great knowledge dump, i think it's worthwhile for folks.

THE RUNAWAY FERRIS WHEEL IS LEGIT ONE OF THE EASIEST SHINES IN THIS GAME, BUT NO PHIL HAS TO TURN IT IN TO LIKE AN HOUR LONG ENDEAVOR.
It's funny that he complains about the water gimmick and that he would rather just platform, but he goes completely clown mode complaining about the levels the takes FLUDD away from him, so he has to you know... platform.
Truth is, he doesn't know what he wants. He's complaing if something changes and he complains if it remains the same. He only whines and bitch about everything.
To everyone who has willingly subjected themselves through the entirety of both parts: To restore your own health and sanity, I HIGHLY recommend watching Chuggaaconroy's LP of Sunshine in full. For the fullest effect, i prescribe a full binge of each episode as soon as you know you have free time for the rest of the day.

I gotta say I've never once worried about a characters shadow to figure out where I was gonna land when playing a platformer. Once again Phil finds such unique ways to get mad at games
I'm confused as to how he forgot Bowser was in this game when i know for sure during a co-op video with John rambo he directly mentions the fact that he knows Bowser is in a giant hot tub in this game. Also he says he never owned a gamecube but again i recall him mentioning he owned RE4 on the gamecube but he never beat it since he hated the gamecube controller.

You know, I'd kinda like to live in the world Phil lives in. Because going by the times he's said "Dude, I'm not touching anything! He moved on his own!" video game characters have achieved sentience and can play the games for you. That would be an awesome world to live in. Who knows, maybe if you don't insult the creators at every turn, these sentient characters wouldn't also only ever move on their own in ways that are bad for you.

Never saw the failure for the balloon popping episode, until now.
The entire beginning segment makes me impressed with Phil's ability to brute force his way through a level instead of following any logic or skill. The amount of time he spent trying to jump to glitch his way ontop of the carriage ride instead of just redoing the fence climb is baffling.
The last part where Phil was in the boat really pisses me off. He's like, "Dude, this just isn't how physics work in real life." My response to that would be: Have you ever seen a boat in real life that has a motor in the middle of it? Motors are at the back of the boats. That's why it doesn't work properly.
The last Pianta village mission with all the blue coins is a game design concept called a "victory lap", it isn't supposed to be hard, its a reward that stretches out to give the player a sense of accomplishment more than what they were expecting. Phil is just sitting there griping and crying about 'polish' the whole time. What a child.
2:43:04 If he plays F-Zero GX story mode he's going to 200% rage quit it. That game's story mode is actually legitimately difficult.
God I hope he never touches F-zero gx (or any F-zero for that matter). Considering how bad he is at racing games, I'm sure he wouldn't be able to finish any gran Prix on novice.

If I've learned anything from this playthrough, it's that Phil really has an issue with games intended for children. It really scares me how he still barely has the ability to live. I don't want him to die anymore because of my hate towards him, I just want him to be at peace with himself with the demons he faces every single playthrough.
The lower the intended age, the more it makes him look like a complete moron when he screws up or can't figure things out.
He also might think that they're below him, despite them quite clearly requiring his current, if not above his level of skill.

Phil's complete failure to understand Chain Chomplets Unchained is one of the most infuriating things I've seen or heard in a long time. Even FLUDD agrees that Phil sucks. "It seems someone is lacking the proper training..."
Loving this rage comp. Everyone I've met who is a Mario fan is good at Sunshine except me, and yet even I know how to navigate the levels.
I like to imagine that if he hadn't accidentally fell on that ferris wheel he'd still be there trying to figure out how to get that shine to this day!
Watching Phil suck made me want to pop in Mario Sunshine and give it another whirl. So I did.
I'd forgotten how the controls are so absolutely...amazing! With the side somersault/spin jump/FLUDD and wall kicks, Mario can jump around like fucking Spiderman. He's INSANELY agile and more in control than in Mario 64 (which was, itself, a masterpiece). Sunshine is a good bit harder (at points) than 64, but that's a good thing, not a bad thing. I dare say that Sunshine is overall superior to 64. It's certainly more "polished", at least.
And for the record, I've never once had the Gamecube "drop my input". Not even once. In ANY game.

Yep. Doubly fun is that I usually used one of those wireless Wavebird controllers back in the day, and yet it still never "dropped inputs".
The only thing missing is the long jump from 64

richard killface Not only Mario is the reference in platforming genre, Super Mario 64 alone is easily one of the most acclaimed video game of all time.
My favourite part is at 20:29 when DSP, after not being able to put the round peg into the round hole for a whole hour some how stumbles into the solution 😂
Its amazing to me that he does for a living.... When you play games after an hour or so you start to understand how game controls and you start getting better. This is about 3 hours in yet he still plays like he was during the first few minutes.
Since when have single player offline games dropped inputs?
When he starts saying "this is just so boring man im just so bored" over and over you just know he's hoping chat will give him permission to rage-quit with less backlash.

It was their YT Channel, the official AtlusUSA one. Maybe not a dev, but as official as their RUclips goes.

But he did a playthrough of D4... He gave up after the game and not touched the post game, I fucking killed my ps3 during the post game.
