That’s good news, on this side of the pond it is even worse with brokers hiking prices, 15 year old boats listed for twice as much as when they were new. Where to look for a 47 to 50 foot boat in the US, ?.
It's spring time here. Boats are cheaper in spring because winter storage fees. I see cheap boats around great lakes all the time. Most have never seen salt water, but have seen many winters. Then see ads for boats in the south at almost double the price. Plus it's still cold so most aren't in the water yet. Our first boat was a cheap c&c 43 landfall. Biggest boat for least amount of money. Not something I would take out on Lake Superior or cross oceans on. Our next boat we hope it will fit down Erie canal and be sea worthy enough for sail to Isle Royal National Park.
I keep watching your buying a used boat videos even though none of them seem to apply to me lol. Your vids are geared towards people with more money than me looking at larger boats than I am, I still keep watching though. All the boats I'm looking at are around 25' and under $10k purchase price with another $10k for refit.
@ABC gang why not? $$$ is why not. No boat at that price will be ready to go without me spending more money. I'll be alone so will need a wind vane at the very least, probably will have to buy a tender, probably a radio and/or epirb, stuff like that.

Fuel, food and just about everything is going up in price. Salaries are not. The first thing to go is the holiday, then the boat. That along with the Marina fees and Bring On Another Thousand is having a direct effect on boats. Last year there were no boat slips available. I got offered 3 different places last week. Prices in the UK are rapidly falling 5-10% . Hold on to your wallets. There’s some bargains coming.
I think so too. The Inflation just seems to get started and it does not look as if it would go away anytime soon. Especially in the EU, the Central Bank can't really raise interest much to combat it, because of the high debt of many member states.
Yes, unless planning to stay here or possibly in Florida, but as you said having to take any further than that would kill the savings unfortunately, luckily for me I live in the Caribbean

I think it’s effectively a sabbatical for many. They take a couple years off to sail on a shoestring budget. Go back to shore and work when the money’s short and other needs in life start to call. Others hope to strike it big on RUclips to fund their cruise, others telework. That said, it’s not really that hard to straight-up retire around 40 if both partners are committed to the dream, earn solid salaries, and don’t mind frugality.
