    Our mission at HowToSailing is to introduce travelers to the serenity and sensational ventures of sailing. We are inspired to invite as many sailors as we can to join us to experience the magnificent world of sailing together. Once travel restrictions and social distancing guidelines dissipate due to Covid-19
    There is no time limit or a specific date we have planned. Our main objective is to make meaningful memorable connections and share the simple joy of sailing with as many people as we can. We have a mission to build a community of fellow sailors through our RUclips Channel, HowToSailing because we want to connect with others who have a love for sailing. Our goal with the channel is to simply create captivating content, construct a solid fan base with fellow sailors, and someday soon invite people from around the world on an adventure
    HowToSailing is not an average sailing channel. We were inspired by the adventurous spirit of, Alex Rust of Chasing Bubbles, who had an endless thirst for travel and experiences. Sailing is a wonderful experience and worth sharing with others, so we aspire to someday begin the adventure. We want others to experience the delight, freedom, and exploration of sailing. It is all about the adventure, the moments that count for a one-of-a-kind experience. The excitement of traveling to a new location is riveting and represents the worth of cruising life as adventure awaits among every wave.
    We want to share our passion for sailing with others and allow those who have a love for the sea to experience the freedom of sailing, reaching goals, and making memories in the miles of water we pass through. HowToSailing desires to introduce amateur sailors and travelers alike who would otherwise not be able to sail or experience being on a sailboat to share our adventures as a group and create meaningful memories unified by the power of the sea. It is our heart to see the world and all it has to offer, and this dream means more when we have others to come aboard and experience it with.
    It is the freedom that we feel when we traverse unfamiliar seas that bring us to unique landmarks, introduce us to different people, and grant us exhilarating opportunities we could not have without sailing. At HowToSailing, we chase after meaningful memories and connections through sailing and the bliss it bestows on its travelers. We want to see the radiance of sunshine, the deep ocean blue waters, and the wildlife that surrounds our journey with others who have the same drive to explore as we do. Sailing is a once in a lifetime experience. It is unlike any other form of travel because it is a remote experience that requires a free spirit and a willingness to throw off the dock lines and just go for the sake of adventure. We started HowToSailing because we want other explorers to accomplish their sailing goals, experience the significance of sailing, and most of all, enjoy the voyage with us.

    Excellent photos and videos to emphasize bad times to be a boat seller. I grew up in WNY, boating in Niagara River, Lake Erie, finger lakes, awesome fresh water during summer and early fall, but rest of the year is brutal.

    Another great HTS video. If you don't want to go as far afield as Panama, the Caribbean, etc its worth taking a look at the ports in the US where boats get left for long periods of time. On the east coast, this includes Deltaville, VA (a known place for Europeans to leave boats when they can't face the sail back, plus its low cost and US boats get left there), Annapolis, MD, Brunswick, GA (the marina, a known hurricane hole), and Indiantown, FL. When you look at the listings you might not feel the prices are that great. But many of these boats have been sitting there. Talk to the broker. I've had brokers tell me, after seeing a boat, researching that boat etc "please, just make an offer, the owner's very flexible".

      @@ChasingLatitudes Well, we are not looking for a production boat. We have been on a lot of them, and have not been satisficed with their layouts, use of space, and comfort in bad weather. We have been on Hans Christians, Island Packets, Tayanas, and Endeavours to name a few. We liked their solid heavy build quality, sail plans, and layouts. They also had some very ingenious uses of space for storage. Our goal is to sail to higher latitudes, so skeg hung rudder is a must as well as a wine glass shaped hull. Did you ever read the Pardey's books?

      Ahhhh ok, I have been looking through forums and what not and some people have made it sound very treacherous but it seems like if one took their time it wouldn’t be a big deal. I’m trying to figure out where the best portage would be cause I have most of my family in Arizona and California but want to be able to make the sail over to the other half of the fam in Uruguay.

    • @ChasingLatitudes
      @ChasingLatitudes  2 года назад

      @@B-Th-Change it will cost you around 8k just to go through the Panama canal alone. To go from some where like let's say California, down through the Panama canal and over to florida would cost you some where around 20k. Where is it you are located and where would you like to sail ?

    I finally sold the house and have been looking for the past year studying up on boats. I'm not the best when it comes to finding these deals you're mentioning on all of your vids as right now It feels like I'm finding just a bunch of beat up boats with over priced values because everyone is trying to buy one. I'm currently looking between 42-48 ft with about 50-55k budget. More on the 43-46, but that's my search criteria. I've found a couple of decent layout boats but then when I look into the model holding a comfort ratio of under 25 I dont bother with it.

      Really really tough... with that budget, you're unlikely to find decent 35-38ft even before the pandemic crazy! I'd say next to imposible now!

    I thought boats are designed to sail in hurricane. What happens if we hit one at sea? Can we survive?

    • @stormtrooper9404
      @stormtrooper9404 3 года назад

      Some boats can and will, others can be lost!
      I'd say its more to the captain itself than the boat! Altough a good, tough boat and a little luck is always welcomed.
      And thay would be the ride of your life if you ever managed to find yourself in the middst of a hurricane/typhoon.
