Most of coastal California minus LA city and SF are nice but if you want a decent sized actual city on the coast with the SoCal climate and vibe (OC towns are more LA suburbs than actual cities, same for Malibu and Oxnard, Santa Barbara is pretty small), San Diego is better than LA for the most part. LA just has a lot more going on and attracts more people from all over but the downside is it looks a lot more run down, less safe, is more over crowded, traffic is much worse, and the areas that look as nice as the standard in San Diego are really expensive.
A question for the local , we’re planing a trip to San Diego next Feb and wanted to visit the zoo. But the online ticketing system seems to suggest all tickets are sold out except for three days in May 2022. Is that accurate ? Would be very disappointing if we can’t see the zoo when visit.
Me too. I moved to SD a few yrs ago, and I plan my weekends based on the tourist vids. I don't have any fam or frds here, but I never get bored. There's so much to see and do.
OMG, all this looks so beautiful. It's time for me to make travel plans, I can't believe how clean it is, a huge difference to L.A. Thanks for this great video, I love it.
I had a fever and watched many of your tours while bed ridden. You're doing an awesome job. Great host, cameraman and great music. Hope you guys hit millions of subs.
This one is a very charming city and easy to get to, I hope I can return to visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
That’s what San Diego is about, tide pools, amazing beaches, possibly best Zoo in the world, not stuffing your face every five minutes! San Diego is where the Navy Seals go through Basic Underwater Demolition Training or BUDS, it’s also the main west coast headquarters for the Navy, where’d you go to get sworn in on the west coast, just a very dynamic town.
My husband and I will be go to San Diego next week and we can't wait to see some of these places in person. This is such a great video. I am so glad it showed up in my feed list.
This video is my daily walk(I live in downtown SD). It really is a beautiful area. One correction: the sailor in the statue next to the USS Midway is not kissing his girlfriend or wife. He is kissing a total stranger in Times Square NY at the end of WWII(the statue was created after the famous picture was taken).
@@MrArjay123 sadly, since they moved the date of the concert, we had to cancel the trip. It really sucks. I'll be in college when it happens, and I live in Alabama. But have fun! That's awesome! It'll be a great time. Maybe you'll see my boyfriend, since he's still going!
Fell in love with San Diego when I was going to Naval Training School back in the late 70"s. One of my fav places to go was Pacific Beach. I am thinking of visiting San Diego within the next year or so for a solo vacation. Probably for a week long stay and I’ve never been to the west coast. I’m still researching but I am liking what I am seeing!

L. Frank Baum, the author of the Oz books, lived in the Hotel Del Coronado at one point, and designed the crown-shaped chandeliers on the hotel's grand dining room. (The house where Edgar Rice Burroughs, the author of the Tarzan books, the John Carter books, etc., lived is a few blocks away.)
Hi. I loved this video! I haven’t been to San Diego since 2017 and I miss it so much. I love Coronado Island and Old Town. Thanks so much for this video 😊💎
I could kick myself for not travelling down to San Diego when i made a trip to L.A a few years back. .I must get to visit there, it's now on my to do list. Thanks for showing.
Forget This, GO EAST. San Diego County has beautiful 'East County' areas Inland, Farmlands, Ranches, Rodeo towns, Foothills, Mountain towns, Open Space, 4x4'n, Mountain biking, Gold mining towns, Observatories, Water Falls, Mountains, Forests, Snow, High Deserts, Sandy Cactus Deserts, Badlands, OffRoad Parks.. ALL IN THE SAME COUNTY.
SoCal, so beautiful yet so expensive. Visited twice out there as my old man lived in Indian Wells in the Coachella valley. I personally fell in love with the area, but yea back in the late 90's was very different to what I assume it is today. I live in 🇬🇮 Mediterranean climate and what not but an item on my bucket list was to go to San Diego and the surrounding SoCal region.
As a native, definitely experience all the stuff in the video, but if you really want to *experience* San Diego, always ask the locals. We know what to do and where to go for the best experiences at a cheaper price in the city if you want to do as the locals do. We're very friendly people.
Nice video but FYI, Ocean Beach, La Jolla, Pacific Beach etc are communities within the city of San Diego. The cities in the South Bay, East County and North County are what comprises the larger population that you refer to.
My Filipino-American friends lives there in San Diego and they are telling me most neighbors they have are Mexicans. Such a beautiful San Diego place. I love Mexican foods too, mostly what I go to eat here in Kentucky aside from Texas Roadhouse. And of course seafoods is a must.
Yup, we have a really good mix of everybody. Lots of Mexicans, whites, Asians and Filipinos mostly. People seem to get along here, very little civil unrest compared to some other large cities.
One of my Cousins is there for Vacation. How cool. I asked her how she got there so fast. I just seen her the other day...lol....Beautiful place. And huge. Wow. If only I had the money and ways to Travel. I travel through other people. :) Like a small food mall. How neat. Some Beautiful Places. Guess her Daughter is getting Married there. Maybe. :) Beautiful Beaches. Someday maybe I'll get to see an Ocean or the Sea. :)
This is a really great overview of the San Diego metro area and the main attractions. I've lived here on and off since 1976 so I've seen the city grow which has it's good and bad points. There is indeed a lot to do in the metro area and there is a lot to do in the eastern part of the county as well (Julian, Mt. Laguna etc.). It is one of the few places that you can drive up to the mountains and play in the snow and then go surfing in the afternoon. I highly recommend visiting the area. However, if you fall in love with the area and decide to move here you should expect pay what we call the "sunshine tax" due to the obscene cost of living. The medium cost of a home is over $500,000 and rising.
@@courtney3254 Eastern San Diego county is pretty low in crime and family friendly. Towns such as La Mesa, El Cajon, Santee, Lakeside and Alpine are good. It is a little less expensive as you go east but it is still pricey.

Beautiful. I’m from the east coast so this looks like a paradise to me. Does San Diego have a big homeless problem like other spots? Not trolling or causing drama just all I know about Cali is the constant headlines and clips of tent cities. This video is beautiful and seems to be a different world than what news has.
Nice! I've never been and would like to make the trip soon. How many days would you estimate I'd need to see what's in this video minus the time I'd need to get there and back?
All of the places he visited are pretty close to each other. You’d could probably do it over a weekend if you really hustle. However, I think you’d want to stay 3 days minimum so you don’t feel like you’re rushing as much. If you want to actually go inside the zoo or seaworld, than you may spend almost all of your day there.
