  • Hello Everybody,
I hope you're doing as well as possible! Today, we're planting as many annuals as we possibly can. Like everyone, we have a few issues to contend with. We have so many rocks that the joke in our area is, "Is there even any soil in our soil?" The black flies and slugs have also been romping away, but it's glorious to get out and enjoy the garden :)
Thank you so much for watching!
    With Love,
    Anna

I had a marathon mulching and planting day yesterday! My shoulders are burning, but I am so glad that everything is in the ground now. 🙌🙌

Your garden is so pretty and has a practical magic feel for me. Incredible to think that was a driveway last year. Best wishes from a cottage garden in the UK

It´s going to be so stunning! The slugs ate my petunias. 🙄 They are just bouncing back - we´ll see what´s going to happen. Love from Germany

There are poison pellets which can be used also in a vegetable garden

Anna the tulips 🌷 look so gorgeous. Everything in the area is blooming with vibrant colors. The pinks just flow so well with the greenery out there. It just feels so peaceful out there. You could probably take a nap in the garden like this. You are doing an amazing job. Shout out to Bert for helping you too my friend! Be blessed 😊🫶🏽

Great job and a beautiful natural looking garden, Its the bees knees. I have been using slug traps for slugs and snails with a homemade recipe in them for years. To one cup of water add a teaspoon of the following, flour, sugar, dry yeast and salt. They are attracted to the yeast and they get a lovely surprise when they hit the salt.

What a magical garden you two have created. Loving your planting combinations. At least you have good drainage with that rocky soil! Slugs, midges nd flies bane of gardners grr. Will look even more amazing in future when fence is covered! (Maybe try hydrangea pteriolaris nd pyrocantha.) Good luck with annuals nd slugs!

    Your driveway looks amazing!!! 😂
I would say that I can't believe you grow things in that rocky ground... but we have similar rockiness where I am in GA. I would probably hurt less if I used a pick for digging. 🤔

Your garden is looking wonderful! How long does the black fly season last? I always feel so bad for the animals, especially deer when they are pestered relentlessly.

Why are you using potting mix in the ground? It only helps aeration in pots; could you not have sourced compost or aged manure to improve the nutrients and tilth in your native topsoil?

Get some cheap beer and put it in shallow dishes in the ground if you don't mind dead slugs every morning it works .
